Chapter 282 - Chapter 282: The Regi Pokémon of the Galar Region

"Do you happen to know anything… about the Regis?"

Brandon's lowered voice was quiet enough that only the two of them could hear.

The fewer people who knew about something like this, the better.

Grey gave an unreadable nod.

Brandon's expression shifted slightly, but he didn't say anything else. Instead, after handing Regirock's Poké Ball to a Battle Pyramid staff member, he smiled and said, "How about we do the second match later?"

Grey caught the meaning between the lines.

They'd talk after Giovanni and Steven left.

"Alright." Grey nodded, then glanced over toward Giovanni and Steven.

At this moment, both Giovanni and Steven were focused on other things.

Giovanni's gaze kept drifting toward Silver. As for this legendary battle, he hadn't actually watched much of it.

Both sides were Elite Four level. To someone with Champion-level strength like him, it wasn't a big deal.

Sure, he found Grey somewhat interesting—but standing in the referee's spot was his own son, Silver!

Grey could wait. Watching Silver came first.

Meanwhile, Steven had spent the entire match with his attention locked on Regirock.

The rocky minerals on its body fascinated him.

If only he could touch it in person…

And honestly, with Regirock being that huge, it should be possible to mine off a little piece, right?

Well, in theory, it would probably count as a harmless injury.

Steven was already thinking about how to bring it up with Brandon. If his mineral collection could include even a tiny chip from Regirock, the overall "tier" of the collection would jump a lot—and it would look even more pleasing to the eye.

Off to the side, Scott kept looking between Giovanni and Steven, holding it in for ages without managing to say a single word.

Somehow…

The most normal one here was Grey.

Today, Scott had truly seen a side of the League's big shots that people never got to see.

"Mr. Steven, Gym Leader Giovanni—what are your plans next? Or would you like to stay here and have some tea?"

Brandon had already told someone to bring tea leaves and a tea table. He just needed their answer.

"I'm heading to Mt. Moon later, so I need to go back to the hotel and pack first. If there's another chance, I'll have tea with you next time, Mr. Brandon."

Steven checked his watch and realized it was already noon.

After lunch, he needed to make a trip to Mt. Moon.

He'd heard that some exceptionally high-quality Moon Stones had recently been dug up there—he just hoped he wasn't too late.

"Same for me. The Viridian Gym is currently under interim management, so I need to go back to the hotel and handle some Gym matters, just to make sure nothing slips through."

Giovanni met Mewtwo's eyes behind him for a moment, then brought his gaze back.

"In that case, I'll see you both out."

Brandon escorted them out, and only then returned.

Now, only three people remained at the field:

Grey, Brandon, and Scott.

Grey raised an eyebrow—he hadn't expected Scott to still be here.

"Mr. Scott will be providing the information that comes next. Let's go sit in the reception room and talk details."

Brandon gave a light cough. Only then did Scott come back to himself, rubbing the back of his head with a smile.

"I'm just a businessman. I'm not that great at Pokémon battles, so when I learn something like this, I need strong Trainers I can trust to help."

Hearing that, Grey asked, "So you want to catch the Regis too, Mr. Scott?"

"No, no. Like I said, I'm just a businessman. Legendary Pokémon are tempting, sure—but for me, real cash is still better."

Scott was pretty laid-back about that sort of thing.

Legendary Pokémon were appealing, but just like he said—he was a businessman. Even if he caught one, it wouldn't really mean much.

Rather than sit on information that might not even be discovered for who knows how long, he'd rather just tell Trainers he had connections to.

Like Brandon.

"Since the information is coming from you, Mr. Scott—and I didn't do anything—can I still listen in?" Grey teased.

He also wanted to see what kind of attitude Scott had toward him.

This wasn't a small matter. If Scott was letting him stay, that meant Scott definitely had some kind of intention.

If it was about making him a Frontier Brain…

Yeah, that wasn't happening.

"It's fine, it's fine. A guest is a guest. Dojo Master Grey is incredibly talented—catching two Legendary Pokémon in a row also proves your luck is off the charts. A Trainer like you is exactly the kind of person I've been wondering how to start a conversation with."

Scott's words were blunt. After talking with Grey a few times, he'd realized Grey was the type who didn't like beating around the bush.

So Scott just laid it all out.

I want to get to know you. I'm using information about Legendary Pokémon to make a friend.

"Ahem—of course~"

Scott suddenly changed tone, rubbing his hands together.

"If you don't mind, Dojo Master Grey—if you run into challengers with good potential in the future, could you introduce them to me so they can come challenge the Battle Frontier?"

That was Scott's real goal. Since Grey didn't want to be a Frontier Brain, then at least help send some people over to take on the Battle Frontier.

It was reasonable, legitimate, and it would improve a lot of Trainers' real combat experience.

Why not?

"Sure." Grey nodded, accepting.

It was just an introduction. Later on, if any Trainers showed up with strength that actually caught his eye, then helping them take a shot at it wouldn't hurt.

"Then I'll thank you in advance, Dojo Master Grey."

Scott patted his big belly, letting out a long breath.

Good—he'd managed to establish a connection with Grey.

Scott had a sharp eye. Every time, he managed to pick out Trainers with real potential.

And the Grey standing in front of him now—whether it was mindset or strength—was top-tier among everyone Scott had ever met.

If he could use information about Legendary Pokémon to build goodwill with Grey, then in the long run, it was absolutely a huge win.

Even in the short term, it wasn't a loss.

Grey catching so many Legendaries meant he had his own methods.

Scott's information was more like a knock on the door—an extra bonus.

"Come with me, both of you. Let's talk properly."

Seeing they were done, Brandon led Grey and Scott into the reception room.

Inside, Battle Pyramid staff poured tea for everyone.

"Mio~" (These cookies are really good. I like them~)

Little Riolu ate the cookies happily, as if it had zero interest in what they were about to discuss.

"Alright, then I'll get straight to the point."

Scott clapped his hands to draw everyone's attention.

The staff left, giving the space to the three of them.

Grey took a sip of tea, waiting to hear what Scott was about to say.

"It's said that in the Galar region, there are Regi Pokémon sleeping there—beings completely different from the ones the public recognizes."
