Twenty minutes later, Vivian York, freshened up, dressed in regular home clothes, with her long hair tied into a ponytail, sat neatly and cleanly across from Ethan Hayes.
In the spacious study, only the two of them sat facing each other. The winter sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, spreading warmth on the floor. The green plants by the window stretched their leaves, comfortably enjoying the brilliant sunshine.
Vivian's big, clear eyes stared at Ethan, who sat across from her, for quite a while before she finally spoke in a muffled voice, "Why didn't you tell me you were coming to my house for tutoring??"
Ethan looked at her innocently, crossing his hands behind his head, leaning back in his chair. He slightly lowered his eyes to look at her and said leisurely, "Wasn't I planning to give you a surprise??"
"Is this a surprise??" Vivian twitched the corner of her mouth, looking at him speechlessly, "It's more like a shock, isn't it!?"
