"I..." Ethan Hayes opened his mouth, just about to answer, when Director Chambers suddenly grabbed their homeroom teacher's arm and said, "Come, come, you're just in time. I just caught Ethan Hayes from your class and this girl pulling each other in the hallway. Ask them, they're not saying anything. I was about to take them both back to the office."
Hayes' homeroom teacher turned around and glanced at Vivian, unable to contain a blend of emotions as he said to Director Chambers, "Why go to the office? The little girl was specially invited by Mrs. Hayes to attend the parent-teacher meeting. The assembly is about to start, and we'll be late if we don't go now."
"What!?" Director Chambers was dumbfounded after hearing this.
He looked incredulously at Hayes' homeroom teacher and then at Vivian standing beside him, stammering as he spoke, "She... she's really here for the parent-teacher meeting?"
