Vivian stared at the "Call Ended" displayed on her phone screen, frozen in place like a statue.
"What's wrong, Vivian? Who's in Z-City? Is it your classmate?" Mrs. York watched her daughter hang up the phone and sit still, immediately showing concern: "If it's your classmate, invite her over to our house."
Vivian turned her head stiffly, her big eyes, distinct in black and white, looking at her mom blankly, her voice weak: "No, it's the student I tutor. He came to Z-City."
"The student you tutor?" Mrs. York frowned, asking quietly: "Is it the one who keeps failing all the subjects??"
"Yeah..." Vivian nodded, "Initially, I was supposed to tutor him yesterday afternoon, but their school had monthly exams yesterday. He planned to reschedule for today, but I came home."
