Footsteps could be heard nearby. Katherine Irving came over with a plate of fruit, placed it on the small coffee table, and couldn't help but stare at Summer Shawcross's slender finger, a look of confusion on her face.
"Madam, is there something on your finger? You've been looking at it all this time!"
Katherine's words brought Summer back to her senses, and she replied faintly.
"There's a scar on it."
In the sunlight, a scar was clearly visible on her index finger.
That scar, she remembered, was from when her brother, Sean Shawcross, returned to Narsus City, and she insisted on helping him, accidentally cutting herself.
At the time, her brother even helped bandage it.
Upon hearing her words, Katherine's face showed a surprised expression, and she hurriedly looked down to examine her index finger before she finally saw the scar she mentioned.
"The scar is very shallow; it should fade away in a while," Katherine said.
