The journey back to Ravenshollow took five days.

We traveled slowly, carefully, Cassius's body wrapped in fine silks and placed in a covered wagon that moved with gentle precision over the rough roads. Camilla rode beside me most of the way, her face pale and drawn, her usual fierce energy dimmed by grief.

Raizel stayed close, his presence a steady anchor when everything else felt like it was falling apart.

We laid Cassius to rest in the mountains behind Ravenshollow Keep, in a quiet grove where silver birch trees grew tall and the wind whispered through the branches like a song. It was peaceful there, beautiful in a way that felt right for my brother.

But instead of burying him in the earth, we placed him in a stone tomb that had been constructed in the grove. The craftsmen had worked quickly, building a small mausoleum with thick walls and a heavy door that could be sealed but also opened when needed.
