Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – The Time Stone in the Primordial Sea

In his previous life, Qin Fitian's talent had been only a middling C—while, to his shock, his younger brother had awakened with an A-grade talent. The memory still stung.

"Go to the clan academy and gather some resources," Qin U Ya said casually. "Take your brother with you. He might prove useful."

Qin Fitian bowed and replied, "Very well." Inside, though, a cold smile curled in his mind. In one month you will forget me and dote on this brother of mine like a favored son, he thought.

After Qin U Ya left, Qin Fitian retired to his room and pondered how to raise his talent to S-grade. A thought flashed through him—one of those memories from his second life. In that life, the world prized qi cultivation above all, and body cultivation had been largely forgotten. There, he had learned to manipulate qi to its utmost. He had reached Level 14 of cultivation and, within that matrix, even touched the edges of time control. He resolved to cultivate that qi technique again.

In this universe, cultivation levels wore many names. But in Qin Fitian's mind—shaped by ten reincarnations—he had reduced them to numbers. At the height of his power in one past life he had been a multi-dimensional existence with seventeen distinct consciousnesses, each serving a different purpose; then he had been a Level-21 being. Even so, he had not possessed the power to control every timeline.

Now, however, he was only a novice—he had not even opened his Primordial Sea.

When he focused inward and opened his Primordial Sea for the first time in this life, a faint glow met his gaze: a tiny ball of light, distant and dim. He could not clearly make it out at first—only that it was roughly Level 8. As his perception cleared, he recognized it with a jolt.

It was the Time Stone—a fragment of cultivation he had refined to perfection in his first life. The very thing that had drawn his brother's betrayal.

Joy and a tremor of hope rose within him
