Chapter 145 - Chapter - 145

Walking down the hallway, she gazed out the window.

Feels like we just started school not that long ago…

and yet so much time has quietly slipped by.

A name tag rested on her left chest.

Seol Hyorim.

Well… a lot has happened.

Now she could hang out with the others late into the night.

We didn't even do much just chatted and headed home but it was fun.

And she could date openly now, without worrying about anything.

Seol-Rilla still seems a bit bothered, though… whenever I come home at midnight.

You can tell he's trying to hold it in.

That's progress, I guess.

I'll just keep hanging out like this every day.

"Hehehe…"

Irina, who had caught up to her, looked at her weirdly. "Why are you laughing by yourself?"

"Yo, Jinhyuk! Hold up come here!"

As they reached the second floor, Seolhyo and Irina turned toward the voice.

Park Dong stood there with a huge grin, palm out, the other hand holding up two fingers.

"It's my 22nd day with my girlfriend pay up! 200 won!!"

"Ah, fuck, I'm broke," Jinhyuk groaned.

Park Dong's grin only widened as he shoved his hand closer to his face. "You trying to wriggle out of this, punk?"

Jinhyuk sighed, digging into his pocket before tossing him a coin.

"You've got a good memory…"

"HAHA, thanks!"

"Two-two" an anniversary some couples celebrated on their 22nd day.

A small tradition where friends paid 200 won on "two-two day."

Just then, Kang Hyuk and Im Yongjin passed by.

Park Dong waved. "Hey! It's me and Irina's two-two day!"

Kang Hyuk chuckled, pulling out coins. "Yeah? I've got exactly 200 won in my pocket."

"You're shaking people down now?" Im Yongjin said.

Seolhyo watched, amused, then glanced at Irina.

"It's already your two-two day?"

Irina scratched the back of her head, blushing. "Aww, I was gonna tell you later…"

Then she grinned and held out her hand. "Anyway, it is what it is so give me 200 won!"

"…Thug," Seolhyo muttered.

Ever since Park Dong and Irina started dating, the overall vibe had changed.

As she watched the two of them laughing together

They actually match pretty well…

But it's still hard to get used to.

Park Dong looked at the pile of coins in his hand.

"PWAHAHA!! We could even go to Outback Steakhouse now!"

Irina grinned. "Good job, totally praise-worthy!!"

"Let's eat till we explode!!"

They looked so happy.

Seolhyo turned and walked toward her classroom.

"Hey," she called out to someone near the door. "Where's Seojin?"

The guy blinked, then blushed slightly before shouting, "Seojin! Your girlfriend's here!"

Seojin stirred awake from his desk, lifting his head.

His eyes landed on Seolhyo standing by the doorway.

Her dark hair framed her face like a curtain, a red headband holding it back.

She wore the school uniform a fitted black blazer with gold buttons over a crisp white shirt, a slim black tie resting neatly against her chest.

Her skirt matched, modest yet elegant, and a small gold name tag glinted above her heart.

It's just our school uniform, but… she's way too beautiful for her own good.

He stood up and walked toward her.

Seolhyo watched him approach. His hair bounced slightly with each step, his deep brown eyes warm as they met hers.

The same uniform fit him well just enough to hint at the outline of his build.

When he stopped beside her

"Your hair's gotten longer. Aren't you going to cut it?" she asked.

"Does it look bad?" he replied.

"It's not that. With your face, any hairstyle would suit you."

Seojin grinned. "You beat me to it I was about to say the same thing."

Seolhyo chuckled. "Narcissist."

Nearby, Park Dong and Irina noticed them.

Their eyes lit up like cartoon characters spotting treasure, grins widening.

"Hey, Seojin, you punk!" Park Dong called. "It's our two-two day pay up!"

Irina held out her palm. "Yeah, hand it over. Tradition's tradition."

Seojin raised a brow. "What? Me and Seolhyo didn't even ask for anything when it was our two-two day."

Irina smirked. "I missed the part where that's my problem."

"Yeah," Park Dong added, "not our fault you didn't ask for money."

Seojin muttered under his breath, "…Yeah, because I don't have to."

With a sigh, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out his wallet, flipping it open revealing a stack of 10,000 won bills.

Park Dong and Irina's eyes practically turned into spinning won symbols, mouths slightly open like they'd found treasure.

Seojin searched for smaller bills, tapping his pocket but found none.

Ugh… I always dump the small bills and coins somewhere at home…

who even carries those?

They just weigh down your pockets…

He groaned. "Fine, here."

He pulled out a 10,000 won bill and handed it over.

Park Dong snatched it instantly, throwing his head back in laughter.

"PWAHAHAHA!! Nice doing business with you, rich boy!!"

Irina grinned wickedly beside him. "Let's go! We're buying every snack in the store!"

Seolhyo blinked, a bit concerned. "Is it okay to just give them that much? I have 200 won here…"

Seojin smiled faintly, then turned his wallet toward her so she could peek inside.

Her eyes widened at what she saw.

"Wha… how much do you even have in there?"

"I have no idea," Seojin replied casually. "I just withdraw more whenever I run out."

Then he glanced at her. "So, when are you going to settle that bet with me?"

Seolhyo frowned. "What do you mean?"

Seojin smirked. "Look at those two. I told you they'd last longer, right?"

"I never agreed to that bet."

"Bummer…"

Just then, Suwon was walking down the hallway.

Park Dong and Irina spotted him and exchanged grins.

Irina leaned in and whispered something.

Park Dong's grin widened.

"Yo, Suwon! It's our two-two day hand over 2,000!!"

Suwon blinked, rubbing his head as he approached.

"Two-two? Ah… wait, isn't it supposed to be 200 won?"

Park Dong and Irina both turned to him with identical mocking smiles.

"It's 2,000, you idiot."

"That's right."

Suwon looked confused. "Do people really collect that much…?"

He glanced at Seolhyo.

"Yeah, it's 2,000. I paid it too. What can you even do with 200 won?" she said without missing a beat.

Then Suwon looked at Seojin.

Seojin gave him a teasing look. "Maybe you wouldn't know, chestnut since you've never had a girlfriend."

Suwon glared at him. "No need to rub it in, you bastard."

Grumbling, he reluctantly pulled out a ₩2,000 bill.

Before he could even react

Park Dong snatched it.

"HECK YEAH!! Thanks, sucker! HAHAHA!"

By the time he realized

they were already running.

Suwon froze, his face going pale.

"Wait.. what?! It's not 2,000, is it?!"

Seojin and Seolhyo burst out laughing.

"Hehe, it's 200 won, moron. No one would give 2,000. You're so gonna get scammed someday. HAHA didn't even realize you got tricked, huh?" Seolhyo teased.

"HAHA, you're really hopeless, chestnut. How are you gonna get a girlfriend at this rate?" Seojin added.

Suwon glared at him. "How is that even connected to this…?"

"Yeah, yeah~" Seojin waved it off.

"Quit making that dumb face and go chase them," Seolhyo said.

Suwon snapped out of it and spun around, sprinting after them.

"HEY!! YOU HOOKED NOSE!! IRINA!! GET BACK HERE!!"

Seolhyo wiped a tear from laughing too hard. "What a dummy…"

Seojin chuckled. "That's a chestnut for you."

He draped his arm over her shoulder as they started walking down the hallway.

By the time they reached the snack store, chaos was already in full swing.

Jisung stood at the counter, leaning over like a man pleading for his life as two students cut in front of him.

"Ahjussi! One corn bread, please!! I got here before them!!"

The guy who cut in ignored him. "Give me the golden bell bread!"

The old man at the counter handed over the snack.

Another person cut in.

"One corn bread, please."

"Only one left. 500 won."

"N-No!!"

Jisung clutched his chest dramatically. "I was here first!!"

Behind him, Daegyu shoved him aside. "Move if you're not buying, punk."

"Can't you see me?!"
