Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Logia-Type Wave-Wave Fruit!

The next day, at the crack of dawn.

Kyle was awakened by an indescribable excitement.

He, Kyle, an ordinary person from his past life, was actually standing on this land full of miracles and adventure!

"Holy crap! I'm a Devil Fruit user!" He pinched his thigh hard. The sharp pain made him grimace, but he grinned like a 300-pound child.

After the excitement subsided, a more urgent thought occupied his mind—setting sail! To meet the legendary figures that only existed in his memory, to see the magnificent islands and oceans with his own eyes!

The thought of Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro made Kyle's blood boil.

However, reality quickly poured a bucket of cold water on him. He looked around. Besides this simple cave and the endless jungle and beach, he couldn't even find a decent wooden plank, let alone build a boat.

"I can't be expected to build a boat myself, right? What if the quality is bad and it sinks? I'd be screwed," Kyle said, deflated, and sat back down on his bed of dry leaves.

It seemed he could only wait and pray that a ship would pass by this godforsaken island.

However, he couldn't waste the waiting time.

"A Devil Fruit..." Kyle looked at his hands with a burning gaze.

What kind of power did that white Devil Fruit, which tasted like a biochemical weapon, grant him?

His past life's memories had no specific information about this fruit.

"I need to figure out how to use this fruit quickly!"

In the following days, Kyle devoted himself entirely to researching his fruit's abilities.

He tried to imitate the movements of some fruit users from his memory but got no response.

"Am I doing it wrong?" Kyle scratched his head, getting frustrated.

For several days in a row, he tried almost every method he could think of, including roaring at the sea—which only attracted the scornful gazes of a few seagulls.

Damn it, other people who transmigrate to One Piece get a starter pack with all three types of Haki, swordsmanship, and a fruit manual. How come I got nothing?

This day, Kyle was doing his usual strength training. He picked up a huge rock, ready to throw it as usual, but he was distracted due to the fruitless research of the past few days. He stumbled, and the rock slipped from his hands, falling towards the ground.

Just as the rock was about to hit the ground, an intense wave of annoyance inexplicably welled up in Kyle's heart. He subconsciously made a pushing motion towards the rock.

An invisible wave spread out from the palm of his hand!

When the huge rock came into contact with this wave, it didn't crash to the ground with a dull thud as expected. Instead... it began to tremble violently from the inside, and then with a "poof," it turned into a pile of rubble!

Kyle stared dumbfounded at the scene, then looked at his own palm, his heart beating wildly.

"Was... was that just now..."

He tried to recall the feeling from a moment ago, extended his hand again, and focused on a large tree not far away, trying to replicate the state.

Another invisible wave was emitted. The large tree, as thick as his waist, first shook violently a few times, then countless fine cracks appeared on its trunk. With a series of grating "crack" sounds, it broke with a loud crash. The top half of the tree crown fell heavily to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

"Awesome!" Kyle jumped three feet in the air with excitement. "This is my power!"

It wasn't causing a physical tremor, but... controlling a more fundamental "wave"? A shockwave? A concussion wave?

Kyle calmed down and began to analyze it carefully.

Although he was just an ordinary person in his past life, he was a modern youth who had received nine years of compulsory education and higher education.

The definitions, types, and characteristics of waves from his physics textbook now flooded his mind.

Transverse waves, longitudinal waves, mechanical waves, electromagnetic waves...

"If it were a simple shockwave or concussion wave, the effect should be more inclined towards overall destruction and knocking things away, rather than this strange phenomenon of disintegrating from the inside," Kyle frowned, trying hard to recall that wonderful feeling.

It was a... frequency? Resonance?

In the world of One Piece, where almost everyone was illiterate and knowing a few characters was considered cultured, Kyle, with his knowledge of physics from his past life, felt like he was Einstein descending upon this era.

Those seemingly profound Devil Fruit abilities, in his eyes, seemed to have some scientific clues.

In his past life, Kyle had read many bizarre explanations and serious nonsense about "anime physics" from various experts on forums. At the time, he just found it interesting, but he never expected that one day, this strange knowledge reserve could become his means of survival.

Many people had said that giving something as illogical as a Devil Fruit to brutes who didn't understand physics and fought purely on instinct was a waste.

For example, a certain kindergarten headmaster, despite having the speed of light, could only perform straightforward kicks and shoot lasers, completely disgracing the name of photons. If it were a physicist, they might be able to pull off crazy moves like gravitational lensing, energy conversion, or even time dilation.

But Kyle held a neutral attitude towards this view. After all, combat and scientific research were two different things. But it was undeniable that a deep understanding of the scientific explanation behind a fruit's ability would definitely help in its deep development and creative application.

"I wonder if it's a Logia or a Paramecia?" Kyle's heart burned with excitement.

If it was a Logia... his body could turn into a vibration wave, immune to physical attacks, and he could control various waves. This was the level of a top-tier Logia!

"Let's try elementalization!" Kyle took a deep breath, concentrated, and imagined his body breaking down into countless vibration waves.

At first, there was no reaction. But he didn't give up and tried again and again.

Finally, during a highly concentrated attempt, he felt his body become light and airy, as if it had lost its physical form.

He looked down, and his arm had actually become somewhat transparent, like shimmering air, with ripple-like waves at the edges!

He picked up a small stone and threw it at his arm.

The stone passed through his arm without any resistance, as if there was nothing there!

"Logia! It's really a Logia!" Kyle was so excited he almost cried.

In the following days, Kyle devoted himself to developing his fruit's abilities.

The first thing he practiced was "elementalization." At first, he could only barely turn a part of his body into a wave form, and it was extremely unstable, like the annoying mosaic in an adult film.

But with continuous practice, he could gradually transform his entire body into an intangible wave. Although he couldn't control the form at will yet, the immunity to physical attacks was enough to protect him in the early stages of his development.

Then there was "directional impact." He learned to compress the vibration waves and then release them suddenly, creating an effect similar to an "air cannon."

Kyle continuously adjusted the compression level and release method, and the power steadily increased. From breaking trees, to shattering rocks, to being able to blast a water column several meters high on the sea surface.

The development of "high-frequency oscillation" also went quite smoothly. He found that he could impart a specific vibration frequency to objects, causing their internal structures to resonate and disintegrate. At first, he could only turn small stones into powder, but later he could make a boulder taller than himself disintegrate into pieces in a few seconds.

"This is a divine skill against those tin-can-like navy warships or the weapons of ability users!" Kyle imagined himself waving his hand and the enemy's swords and armor shattering, a smile gradually spreading across his face.

Time quietly passed as Kyle trained hard and developed his abilities day after day. He was like a sponge, frantically absorbing the knowledge from his past life and the practical experience of his current one, gradually excavating the potential of his fruit ability. And he preliminarily named the fruit—the Logia-type Wave-Wave Fruit.

This day, Kyle was training as usual on a cliff at the highest point of the island.

He was shirtless, his bronze skin glistening in the sun, and his lean muscle lines were full of explosive power.

He first performed a series of elementalization evasion training, simulating attacks from all directions. His body switched rapidly between solid and wave form, creating gusts of wind.

Then, he took a deep breath and pushed his palms forward.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Three solidified shockwaves shot out in succession, accurately hitting the three floating wooden stakes he had set up on the sea surface dozens of meters away, blasting them into smithereens and sending wood chips flying.

"The power is still not concentrated enough. It's far from a 'star-shattering cannon'," Kyle wiped the sweat from his brow and muttered.

Just as he was about to continue practicing "high-frequency oscillation," trying to decompose a strangely shaped metal ore he had picked up, he caught a glimpse of a small black dot on the distant sea level out of the corner of his eye.

Kyle's heart skipped a beat. He immediately concentrated and pushed his vibration sensing ability to the extreme.

A moment later, his pupils suddenly contracted!

It was the silhouette of a ship! The flag hanging from the bow fluttered in the sea breeze—it was a menacing skull with two crossed cutlasses below it!

Kyle's heart thumped violently, an uncontrollable excitement surging through him.

Hee hee hee, the three-year period is up. Welcome the Dragon King to the sea!
