Chapter 24 - Chapter 5: What Is the Dao_3

The Snake Demon got up and wanted to flee again, but Shen Yanli recited the magic spell, and the silver barrier in the air slowly constricted under her control, forming a silver net cage. No matter where the Demon Snake ran, the net cage tightened relentlessly.

The Demon Snake was unable to break free, collapsed in despair, and screamed, "What the hell is this! Let me go!"

The net cage shrank smaller and smaller, and the tightly bound Demon Snake fell to the ground unable to struggle. Shen Yanli's sword coldly pointed at the Demon Snake in front of her and berated, "You used your silver tongue to tempt Du Yan, making her your cultivation nourishment. The evil arts of the Demon Sect are truly despicable!"

The Demon Snake sneered, cleverly arguing, "She avenges her revenge, I cultivate my power, we each get what we need, where is the temptation in that?"

"Do you not know that killing with resentful spirits will lead to their total annihilation?" Shen Yanli reprimanded angrily.

The Demon Snake laughed, "So what? She called for my help; I had already informed her of the consequences. It was merely her choice! Conversely, you cultivators, besides slaying demons, how many injustices in the world can you truly resolve? Of the people you've helped so far, were none guilty of wrongdoing? You eliminate demons but leave the world's villains; do you think they won't harm people? Is this the 'duty' you cultivators preach?"

"Demon Snake, how dare you spout nonsense!" Mo Bai cursed angrily.

Shen Yanli raised her hand to stop Mo Bai's curses. She looked at the Demon Snake and asked, "What's your name?"

"Jiu Su." The Demon Snake replied, "Remember my name well! One day, someone will avenge me!"

"The great path of the world requires one true heart. If you had chosen the path of cultivation, perhaps we could have been friends. But since you've pursued the evil path, I cannot let you live." Shen Yanli said slowly.

Jiu Su sneered, "If you're going to strike, then strike! Spare me the chatter! But even in death, I won't let you have peace!"

Shen Yanli raised the sharp Cangli Sword and forcefully swung it, severing Jiu Su's head brutally. Jiu Su's head rolled on the ground like a watermelon, staining the ground with crimson blood, as the demonic arts dissipated, gradually transforming the human head back into a snake head.

Just when they thought it was all over, Jiu Su's body suddenly turned into a mass of black air, spraying into Shen Yanli's face.

Shen Yanli's vision went pitch black; she smelled a strange fragrance, felt a bit dizzy, and it seemed as though something had entered her eyes. She rubbed her eyes, trying to see everything clearly.

When she opened her eyes, she was startled to find herself in the Moon Tower of the Mysterious Peak, lying disheveled on a bed.

The person before her was the Demon Lord Mo Bai, who was watching Shen Yanli's sleeping form with satisfaction.

Resentment, humiliation, disgust, and shame—all the negative emotions surged overwhelmingly into her heart.

Shen Yanli's eyes widened in terror as she shouted, "You beast!"

Mo Bai raised a brazen and arrogant laugh, clutching Shen Yanli's slender neck, and twistedly said, "Shen Yanli, who would have thought! One day you too would fall to such a fate!"

"Let me go! Let me go! I'll kill you, I'll kill you!" Shen Yanli struggled furiously in anger, frantically grabbing a knife from beside her and mercilessly stabbed it into the person in front of her.

Something warm splattered her face, jolting her back to some awareness. When she opened her eyes, she only saw Mo Bai holding his arm, hoarsely calling her, "Master! Master, be careful! Don't hurt yourself!"

It turned out she was under a magic spell cast by Jiu Su before dying, forcing her to relive her most painful memory!

The Cangli Sword in her hand suddenly fell to the ground, with Mo Bai's blood dripping everywhere, and he lost consciousness, lying on the ground.

She panicked, but a dark thought emerged from the depths of her heart: if he died, wouldn't all those future events never happen?
