Nolan Sinclair hesitated at first when Mia Sutton and her team chose this song because he had composed it himself, and thus knew its level of difficulty.
However, after Mia later shared her ideas with him, he agreed.
Mia had said at the time: "Sorrow shouldn't be like this; it should also encapsulate the helplessness of watching people's homes vanish in the flames of war."
Nolan gazed at her steadily for a long time, knowing Mia wasn't wrong; that was exactly his original intention when he first created it.
So, after some hesitation, he agreed with her idea.
The song Sorrow was then adapted.
And because he had attempted that version before, he was able to complete the adaptation so quickly after Mia proposed it.
The reason for incorporating elements of opera was because, during a break in filming, he took a look at some of Mia's stage videos.
