The next morning.
Mia Sutton slept late due to insomnia yesterday, so she got up late too. After getting up, she saw Jensen Sterling sitting by the dining table, with breakfast laid out on the table.
Seeing Mia wake up, Jensen said softly, "You're awake? Come and have something to eat."
Mia yawned as she walked over, sat down on the chair, took a sip of soy milk, and then looked up.
She stared for a moment, then blurted out, "Mr. Sterling, did you not sleep well last night?"
Because visibly, there were faint dark circles under Jensen Sterling's eyes.
Jensen paused for a moment: "Yeah, I had insomnia."
It wasn't just insomnia, it was an all-nighter.
Mia Sutton wasn't the only one who wasn't used to it; Jensen Sterling was the least accustomed. The usual little girl who liked to hug his arm while sleeping was gone.
The bed was as large as ever, but now it felt very empty, the house felt hollow, as if many things were suddenly missing, and nothing felt right.
