Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Drunkard, Dancer, the Most Useless Squad?

Chen Guangpu heard the commotion outside and hurriedly ran out.

Seeing Han Zhan retracting his fist and Wang Luma unconscious on the ground, he said nothing and carried Wang Luma over his shoulder, giving Han Zhan a knowing glance.

"Quick, someone help! Student Wang Luma has fainted due to overexertion. Someone take him to the medical room!"

Shouting as he walked briskly in the opposite direction of Han Zhan.

"Principal Chen is a good man," Han Zhan remarked, watching Chen Guangpu walk away.

Xia Youwei nodded in agreement. "I hope he lives a long life."

The two of them finished the graduation process at Qingteng Academy, and after receiving their recommendation letter,

they left to report to the City Guardian Organization in Deep Blue City.

The City Guardian Organization is located in the center of Deep Blue City, in a very grand building.

When Han Zhan and Xia Youwei walked inside, the reception center was empty.

Only a young man with a childish appearance was hiding in a corner playing video games intensely.

"Hello, I'm..."

Han Zhan walked up to the young man but hadn't finished speaking before being impatiently cut off with a wave.

"Go to the entrance to get a number, then wait to be called."

Han Zhan was momentarily stunned but patiently explained again: "I'm not here for help, I'm here to start my job."

"Start a job?"

The young man playing video games stopped, giving Han Zhan and Xia Youwei a surprised look.

He seemed to have a sudden realization and pointed at them.

"Oh, oh, it's you guys, Deputy Zhao specifically... oops, not that. You are to receive special attention, the only SSS-level Talent Spirit Contract Master in Deep Blue City!"

The young man, realizing he'd misspoken, covered his mouth with his left hand and reached out his right to shake Han Zhan's hand.

"Hello, I'm Xiaobei."

"Your files have been entered, and you've been assigned to team number 0527. You can go straight there to report."

Xiaobei said, then detailed the exact location of team number 0527 for Han Zhan.

"Congratulations, Captain Han, you are now the official captain of team 0527."

"The booklet contains detailed information on the duties, powers, and appointments of a captain, you can take a look."

"We're colleagues now, please take care of me."

Those in charge of reception at the reception center are savvy, and Xiaobei's attitude instantly did a 360-degree turn,

as the saying goes, don't hit a smiling face, so Han Zhan had nothing more to say.

Taking the so-called captain's manual, Han Zhan flipped through and gained a general understanding of the organizational structure of the City Guardian Organization.

Within the City Guardian Organization, each city has a primary team responsible for overseeing all other city guardians.

The other city guardians are each assigned numbers according to their jurisdiction and belong to different teams.

Han Zhan's team, 0527, mainly oversees the Xixia Road area of Deep Blue City.

Thankfully, it's not too far from headquarters.

After walking for another ten minutes, Han Zhan and Xia Youwei arrived at Xixia Road.

With difficulty, they found the office of team 0527. Just as they pushed the door open, they were hit by a dense smell of alcohol.

The floor was littered with scattered bottles, some already dusty, others with fresh residues, clearly recently discarded.

The room full of bottles left Han Zhan and Xia Youwei feeling like there was nowhere to step.

Walking inside, Han Zhan saw a disheveled middle-aged man sprawled out drunk on the floor,

cradling a half-empty bottle, snoring with bleary eyes.

Outside, it was nearly ten in the morning, and there was no sign of him waking up.

Han Zhan frowned at the drunkard lying on the floor.

It seemed Zhao Hu had intentionally placed him in this team 0527 with bad intentions?

Just as he was about to wake the drunkard, the door curtain suddenly jingled from the entrance,

as a woman in high heels, heavily made up and dressed provocatively, walked in from outside.

"And who might you be?" the woman, dressed like a dancer, asked, glancing curiously at Han Zhan and Xia Youwei.

"Team 0527's new captain, Han Zhan,"

Han Zhan replied, pulling out his identification from an envelope.

Seeing the ID, the dancer's expression showed obvious surprise, taking a moment to process.

At this moment, the drunkard on the floor heard the noise and managed to open his eyes, calling out to the dancer standing there:

"Iris, money, give me money, I'm out of money for booze again."

The dancer had heard his words.

Her eyes mixed with an unreadable emotion, she finally pulled out a wad of cash from her bustier, handing it to the drunkard.

"I danced all night yesterday, I'm exhausted and need sleep."

"The new captain is here, greet him yourself. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Red Iris, his Spirit Contract, as you can see, also a dancer."

With that, Red Iris nodded to Han Zhan and Xia Youwei, then expertly navigated through the bottles in high heels, pushing open an inside door and going in.

The drunkard took the money and scratched his head, mumbling to himself: "New captain, you're kidding me, a new captain, tsk."

He opened his eyes, meeting Han Zhan's gaze.

"Hello, I'm Han Zhan, the new captain of team 0527."

Seeing the ID, the drunkard paused for a moment.

In the next second, he scoffed, slapping away Han Zhan's hand, full of mockery: "A kid without whiskers wants to be my captain?"

"Kid, get lost, go wherever's cool."

"Why do you speak like this?"

Xia Youwei was extremely disgusted with him, whether for drinking or sending his Spirit Contract to dance for alcohol money, this middle-aged man was repulsive.

"Oh, young lady, your soft voice is quite cute when angry."

"So, interested in being my Spirit Contract? I promise..."

Boom!

Before he finished, his entire self was sent flying by a punch, landing heavily onto the glass bottles,

shattered shards piercing his skin, yet the middle-aged drunk's smile remained unchanged, seemingly not feeling any pain,

he sobered up completely, staring at Han Zhan opposite him. "Kid, that punch's got some strength, have you trained?"

Han Zhan didn't answer.

The drunk stood up on his own, grabbing a not entirely empty bottle of alcohol, drinking it down to the bottom with a gulp, letting out a contented burp.

"Not speaking? It doesn't matter, but I advise you to leave, it's for your good."

"You must have offended someone, otherwise, you wouldn't have been assigned to this infamous 'most useless team' in all of Deep Blue City."

"Leave now, just say it was because arrogant Yi Fan drove you away, at most you'll lose some face, which is better than rotting here later."

"Am I right, Captain Han Zhan?"

Yi Fan, the drunkard, waved the empty bottle meaningfully at Han Zhan, asking.
