"So where are you heading?" shengsi asked
"stardragon, western capital, division 13." Han Xiao replied, still a bit scared of shengsi.
"Where can I get into contact with the blood pact society?"
"I'll take you to see a proxy where you can sell info for their help in contacting the society."
"By the way, what's the deal with your group?"
"My esper ability made them loyal to me and me alone." Shengsi shrugged.
"O..k.." han xiao now even more scared of shengsi said slowly.
Han xiao and shengsi start their journey to division 13.
Where han xiao ambushed One and his squad. We see the leader, hila, and others.
"Looks like zero ambushed them with explosives."
"Do you know where shiva is?" the leader asks, already fuming.
"We have no certainty. We assume he died like the rest, even though it's unlikely." one of the background people said. Which made the germinal leader even angrier.
"Issue a bounty under the name of the organization. $100,000,000, dead or alive."
Hila and the rest of the group were shocked. The germinal organization was the kingpin of the underworld, and they had not needed to issue a bounty for the pastt three years. Was it really necessary to do so for a lowly traitor?
"My leader, you seem to overrate him. Zero barely managed to escape by the skin of teeth. What threat can he pose to us?"
"Hmph. That bastard declared war against us and even killed shiva, so i will make him pay for his arrogance! I will crush him! If zero is captured alive, use all available means to extract his secrets! If he is killed, then dissect his body to figure it out."
"I still cant believe he managed to kill shiva, shiva was a d grade, and he took ten c grades with him"
"Who is shiva?" hila asked, confused.
"You're not authorized to know." the leader said. The response stirred hila's curiosity.
With shengsi and han xiao. Shengsi and han xiao arrived at the western capital and went their separate ways. All of Stardragon's cities were barricaded by great electric fences of barbed wire, and the only way to enter any city was through a main gate. The freight train arrived at the open-air train station connected to the entrance of the city. The area was like a military base – there were bunkers and watchtowers guarded by the army. Troops were stationed in every corner. Over a thousand wanderers alighted onto the station square. They began to queue up for the inspection. Only those confirmed not to possess weaponry or carry infectious diseases were permitted to enter. The Six Nations all welcomed wanderers. The war had caused a lack of manpower and talent. Han Xiao needed to find a way to evade inspection, but Shengsi did not. Shengsi with his group queued in the wanderers line, waiting for inspection. Inside the city, shengsi met up with han xiao and had him lead shengsi to this blood pact society proxy. After selling some info about germinal bases and their latest experiment called super soldiers, the proxy vouches for me with the blood pact society. the proxy hands shengsi a membership pass and a phone.
"You will get a mission to test your strength and see which assassin rank fits you."
Shengsi coincidentally gets a mission text. The mission is to quietly kill a noble for some money. Shengsi goes to the noble's mansion and uses his infiltration skills taught by germinal and uses death energy to decay the noble quietly. Then he leaves. He did not use any of his servants because he wanted to prove himself to the blood pact society. And using a servant might give the wrong impression. Over the next few months, shengsi fell into a routine. He trained some days and did missions others. He gained a reputation as the zombie, which is also his assassin name 'zombie'. Until he received a mission to protect a client that requires a dark or above assassin rank, which he is, he has climbed the ranks all the way to ghost.
'This mission… isnt it that mission with Bennett and han xiao?'
Arriving at the the river valley manor, a warning shot flew past shengsi. Shengsi stops advancing and proves his identity as an assassin.
"Newcomer? You are an assassin right?" a buff man yelled to shengsi."chen li, there is a new assassin here. Quickly come and pick him up." he said over the radio
"Wait a moment." a swearing person on the other side of the radio said.
The person named chen li soon arrived and asked if shensi was dark or ghost./ before shengsi could answer chen li actually looked at shengsi and yelled "zombie!" to which multiple people were murmuring in the background.
"You heard of me?" shengsi asked.
"Yeah everyone has. You stalk in the night and then everyone you touch decomposes. You made quite the reputation."
"Yeah…" shengsi says, a little uncomfortable.
"Anyway, welcome aboard." Chen Li holds his hand out for a shake.
"Thanks for having me." Shengsi shakes his hand.
"Now that you're here, this mission is in the bag."
Shengsi goes to his spot, waiting. After a bit, han xiao arrives. The same thing as in cannon happened. They put him in the sniper position after a little guff, because he is a scorpion not dark or above. Han xiao asked around for some information. He learned about a powerful guy codenamed zombie. He met up with that guy and was surprised to see shengsi. Han xiao looked visibly afraid of the guy.
"Have we met before?" shengsi asked with a knowing smile. Shengsi can now see the souls of creatures ever since hitting c grade. So he can see through han xiao.
Han Xiao noticed his smile, and felt his heart sink. "no" he stammered.
Shengsi did not call him out, simply smiled and said. "Well, what's your codename? I'm Zombie." shengsi reached out his hand for a shake.
"Mr.black." Han Xiao pulled himself together and reached out and shook shengsi's hand.
"Looks like people are coming." shengsi says looking out in the distance. He tells the people around the manor the same over the radio.
Han xiao ran to his post. Shengsi and his servants went on a killing spree with guns. Shensi infused every bullet with death energy while the inside of the bullet is life energy. Every time a bullet grazes someone it corrodes the target away. The battle lasted for 15 minutes. With the only light in the dark being the fire at the end of gun muzzles. For the next three days, shengsi has been defending the river valley manor and then helicopters came with rocket launchers. The weather became a thunderstorm. Shengsi and his servants were dodging a lot of bullets and explosions. Shengsi shot death attuned bullets at the souls with rocket launchers killing some. Han xiao using his hover boot things is sniping the helicopters down. While shengsi worked with his servants to snipe some helicopters with death energy. The remaining y-5 helicopter turned and flew away. The battle is over for now. A bald man and a fine looking gentleman appeared behind the fences of the mansion. All the mercenary troops were alarmed and curious about who they are to protect. When all the mercenary troops and assassins arrived before him, the bald open man started speaking.
"Thank you for the protection you guys have offered for the past few days. I will now call out the names of some of the guys whom I want to speak with."
The bald old man chanted out a list of names. The names belonged to the commanders of the mercenary troops and assassins with outstanding performances in the mission. Mr. Black, which was Han Xiao's code name, was also mentioned. Shensi's codename zombie was also mentioned.
"... please enter the mansion in ten minutes. I have something to discuss with you guys."
All the troops were looking at the selected individuals as they entered the mansion. The interior of the mansion followed a minimalistic classical style. Other than a chandelier hanging from the ceiling, there were no signs of extravagance in the other parts of the room. The bald old man sat on his sofa, and the friendly gentleman was standing behind him.
"Sit anywhere you want."
The selected individuals took their seats on the sofas and chairs in the different corners of the room. Han Xiao remained standing. He leaned against the glass cabinet that stored all the bottles of wine. Shengsi lounged on a sofa chair sideways.
The bald elderly man pushed up his spectacles and said in a deliberate manner. "Let me introduce myself; I am Wang Yuan, and I will require the protection of you guys for an extended period of time. Today, I called you guys here so that I could meet you all. Also, the mansion will be open for you guys to visit. If you guys want to, you all can even rest in the mansion."
Most people looked at each other in confusion, not knowing who this wang yuan is. They realized that wang yuan does not intend to answer any inquiries they had, therefore they could not be bothered to ask these questions, as asking sensitive questions was not a good practice in their profession.
"You guys are the central force defending River Valley Manor, and once the mission is done," Wang Yuan said, "I will hand out additional rewards to you guys in private."
The eyes of many people lit up. The stipulated reward from the mission was supposed to be shared with all the fellow troops. However an undeclared reward privately handed out to certain people need not be shared. The meeting was a short one. The mercenary commanders moved back to take care of their troops. Shengsi also left. The mission was going smoothly thanks to han xiao and shengsi for a few days. In the evening, Wang Yuan gathered everyone.
"I need to make a trip to Seagull City to meet with Division 13. I need to bring some powerful individuals with me for protection, and the rest of you guys will remain here to guard the manor."
Before anyone could even respond, Wang Yuan started pointing out the selected few. "Moonlight, Volcano, Hunter, Golden Fox, Mr. Black, and Zombie, I need you to protect me for this trip. I will raise the rewards for you guys. If you all are unwilling to do so, I will not force it upon you."
"No problem." Hunter was the first to respond. The other few agreed to the request.
Han xiao asked if Bennett was coming as well and got confirmation.
