"Your brother knows about us?" Akira raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure he won't try to kill me?"
"My brother is… a strange person," Iroha answered seriously. "I think he'll be very happy to meet Senpai."
"A strange person?" Akira Fujimiya was stunned for a moment, as he question.
Isshiki Iroha didn't elaborate, as she yawned softly, said good night, and quickly fell asleep.
Akira looked at Isshiki Iroha resting so peacefully.
He didn't ask further about her brother's condition and instead returned to his drawing of Non Non Biyori.
Time passed in the blink of an eye.
Morning arrived.
Akira had promised Hiratsuka-sensei that he would join her for breakfast today. So, he looked at Isshiki Iroha resting in his bed, before he quietly got up, began dressing and washed up before heading downstairs.
As he began walking downstairs—he pulled out his phone, open the texting app and send a message to Iroha, saying that he had something to do in the morning, apologize for leaving her alone and also that he would up for it.
He prepared to take his motorcycle out of the parking area.
Just then—his phone rang.
He pulled out the phone, seeing the caller ID displaying "Hiratsuka Shizuka," Akira immediately answered.
"Uncle Tamura is coming to pick you up," Hiratsuka-sensei said simply, then hung up without waiting for a response.
Akira blinked, confused for a few seconds, then walked toward the entrance.
Upon stepping outside, he spotted Uncle Tamura waiting for him politely.
Uncle Tamura smiled warmly, bowed, and opened the car door. "Good morning, Fujimiya-sama."
"Thank you for coming, Uncle Tamura," Akira replied before entering the car.
As Uncle Tamura settled into the driver's seat, he spoke with a cheerful tone.
"When the master learned that Young Master Fujimiya would be joining for breakfast, he immediately instructed the chef to prepare a special meal for today."
"I see.."
"There will be many special and delicious dishes. The master once traveled to a place where such cuisine was very popular. He loved the variety and flavors very much, but sadly he couldn't stay long. So during chef recruitment, he made sure to bring someone capable of preparing such dishes. Today, this chef will personally serve Young Master Fujimiya."
Akira was a little surprised, as he get what kind of breakfast it is going to be, "Uncle Hiratsuka is… very generous."
"The master actually wishes that Young Master Fujimiya could come every day—have breakfast together, practice swordsmanship, and eventually join the Metropolitan Police Department." Uncle Tamura said while glancing at Akira through the rearview mirror, analysing.
Akira shook his head slightly. He wasn't interested in joining the police.
Seeing this, Uncle Tamura only sighed and didn't insist further as he continue driving.
Soon, the car smoothly rolled to a stop before the impressive estate of the Hiratsuka household.
After getting out, Akira followed Uncle Tamura inside and arrived at the living room.
Hiratsuka Nohara, the Head of the family, smiled when he saw him.
Akira respectfully stepped forward and bowed.
"Please, sit down, Fujimiya-kun," Hiratsuka Nohara said while pouring him a cup of hot tea, himself.
Akira quietly took the seat to Hiratsuka Nohara's right, as he pick up the cup.
"When I heard from Shizuka that you would be joining us for breakfast, you can't imagine how delighted I was," Hiratsuka Nohara said happily. "At Miss Yukinoshita's birthday banquet, when you and Shizuka danced together… I thought the two of you looked like a perfect match."
Akira lowered his voice slightly.
"If only I had been born ten years earlier...maybe I would be able to accept that."
"It is not too late now." Hiratsuka Nohara smiled confidently, encouraging. "As long as Shizuka agrees, I will approve of anything. I know that if it is you, Shizuka will naturally accept. Fujimiya-kun, I truly hope the bloodline of the Hiratsuka family can continue. Can you—"
Before he could continue,
"Dad! What nonsense are you saying?!" Hiratsuka Shizuka's shy voice cut in sharply, from behind.
Hiratsuka Nohara turned, unbothered as he asked calmly, "Shizuka, when did you arrive?"
"I… I just got here…" Hiratsuka-sensei muttered while actively avoiding eye contact with her father.
Akira took a glimpse of her and instantly knew she was lying.
Hiratsuka Nohara also clearly caught on, but he only gave Akira a knowing smile, patting his shoulder twice.
Akira nodded subtly in response, without saying anything.
Hiratsuka-sensei caught this silent communication and turned red, glaring fiercely at Akira.
Akira looked back with a glance filled with regret.
"What are you staring at?" Hiratsuka Shizuka clenched her fists, flustered.
"I just think it's a pity that I didn't get to see you wearing a kimono, today. Couldn't you have brought one home? Let me see a different side of you sometimes." Akira looked straight into her eyes.
"I—I don't like wearing kimono…" she turned away, her cheeks reddening rapidly.
"Do you really not like it?" Akira asked. "Or do you just not know how to wear one? Maybe you think it's troublesome? I could learn how to put one on. Once I learn…"
Akira paused deliberately, keeping his tone meaningful.
Hiratsuka Nohara sipped his tea calmly, pretending not to hear the charged atmosphere unfolding.
Hiratsuka Shizuka's ears were bright red, glaring at him.
"Once I've learned it," Akira continued with a small smile, as if he didn't noticed her glare. "I can slowly teach you as well."
"I don't need you to teach me!" she snapped and quickly moved to sit opposite him to hide her expression.
Akira simply took a sip of tea, satisfied.
A few minutes later, Nishimiya Shouko arrived.
She gracefully bowed to Hiratsuka Nohara and then froze slightly when she saw Akira.
Akira gave her a subtle look, signaling a silent greeting.
Her face flushed instantly as she hurried to sit beside Hiratsuka Shizuka, trying to calm herself down from the peasant surprised?
At that moment, breakfast was served by the servants.
Steam rising from dumplings, fragrance of warm porridge and a selection of nostalgic side dishes neatly arranged.
Akira lost himself in the aroma and couldn't help but feel a wave of sentimental warmth as he continue eating.
After finishing the delicious meal, Hiratsuka Nohara asked gently,
"How was it, Fujimiya-kun?"
Akira gave a sincere evaluation, "The last time I had breakfast like this was when I was very young. The flavor brings back memories of my childhood. Thank you..."
"If Fujimiya-kun enjoys this, please come as often as you like. The chef I hired is a student of Totsuki Academy. While not yet a graduate, he is capable of making a wide range of dishes." Hiratsuka Nohara explained with a satisfied expression.
"Totsuki Academy?" Akira reacted with surprise, inwardly he was screaming about if it was real.
"Fujimiya-kun doesn't know Totsuki Academy?" Hiratsuka Nohara chuckled softly as he informed him, "The Yukinoshita family is currently constructing Totsuki Resort. Once it is completed, we can all go together to taste dishes made by the Totsuki Ten Masters (/Elite Ten Council). I had the pleasure of trying the cuisine of one of the Ten Masters before… It was a magnificent experience. The eldest daughter of the Nakiri family is said to possess the Divine Tongue and her cooking could astonish you beyond words."
"The Divine Tongue…" Akira lowered his gaze to the steaming teacup but couldn't hide the interest shining in his eyes.
Just hearing the name "Totsuki Academy" made him instantly think of Nakiri Erina—A beautiful blonde tsundere whose culinary pride soared above the heavens.
Akira couldn't help being curious.
Just what would it feel like to kiss someone with the Divine Tongue?
{T/N: Haaaa... 🤦♂️}
And since the characters from Food War existed in this world…
Then, could it be that their are characters from different anime too. When he first meet Shouko he did think that the possibility was very high but when he asked if she knew of Shoya Ishida, she said (in signed) that it was her first time hearing that name. By that he guessed that maybe their are only 3 people from Silent Voice and didn't dive too much into it.... But now this—where it look like the whole Food Wars is mixed with this world.
And Totsuki Resort was still under construction…
Something felt strange about this timeline and world.
Suddenly, a thought struck him.
The Yukinoshita family was deeply involved in construction projects and connected to Totsuki Academy.
Could it be that… Yukihira Soma's family restaurant…
....
On the way to the hospital,
Akira immediately texted Yukinoshita Haruno, requesting information about the districts demolished by Yukinoshita Construction in recent years.
Though slightly confused, Yukinoshita Haruno still sent the file after sometime.
Akira opened it and browsed through the data.
A few minutes later—
He found the name: Sumire Avenue Shopping District (/Sumiredōri Shopping District).
Based on the listed time, the residents had already moved out two months ago. The neighborhood was now a vacant construction zone, planned to become a commercial mall, soon.
Akira saw the name of the construction manager but didn't call.
He had a guess who she might be. That overbearing woman who gave Yukihira Soma endless trouble in the anime.
Now that he had confirmed the location and timeline, investigating the rest would be simple.
Akira quickly closed the file before opening the web and searched for recent articles about the area.
What he found...…
Left him momentarily speechless.
"That place used to have a great restaurant, tasty and cheap. But they were forced out."
"It's said the owner's son challenged someone to a food battle and lost. After that, he gave up being a chef."
"What is a food battle? Can they really stop someone from cooking?"
"Shokugeki is originally from Totsuki Academy. The Gourmet Association later recognized it officially, so it can determine certain legal rights. The owner's son risked his chef career and the fate of Sumire Avenue… and lost them all."
"I've heard about that too. If a chef loses his cooking career in Shokugeki, he's stripped of qualifications. He can't run a restaurant and that person can't even call himself a chef anymore."
"Shokugeki is terrifying…"
Akira stared at the screen, as he read the comments.
Yukihira Soma… lost?
And lost his chef qualification entirely?
What about his protagonist halo?
Unless—
This was all a setup.
A trap designed by that woman, using Shokugeki rules, and hiring a Totsuki graduate to compete…
But still...
Akira dug deeper, as much as he could.
When he saw the main contributors behind it, everything became clear.
Case solved.
