After some hesitation Meguri finally stepped forward.
As she slowly slipped under the blanket, Akira Fujimiya lay down beside her, and without hesitation, he wrapped his arms around her slender waist, drawing her into the warmth of his embrace.
"Senpai, listen," Akira murmured quietly.
Meguri blinked in confusion. "Listen to… what?"
Before she finished the sentence, her body stiffened. A faint sound drifted in from the slightly-opened window. It was a voice—soft, feminine, unmistakably intimate—coming from the other room.
Her cheeks burned instantly. She covered her mouth, too embarrassed to even breathe.
Akira gave a small sigh. "The soundproofing in this building is terrible. I should've taken you to Sakurasou instead."
"I… I'm sorry…" Meguri whispered, her face crimson.
"You're adorable, Senpai. There's nothing to apologize for." Akira smiled gently. "Besides, even if we can't do anything improper here, I planned to teach you something interesting, soon."
"Something… interesting?" Meguri tilted her head, confused.
Akira leaned close, bringing his lips near her ear. His breath was warm, his tone calm yet mischievous. He whispered a few quiet words.
Meguri felt her heart explode. Her face went red at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"Fujimiya-kun… t-that's part of…"
She swallowed. "I… I understand."
The night deepened.
Meguri lay frozen in his arms, her face still hot, while Akira gently held her, his breathing relaxed and steady. Even though nothing truly happened, the atmosphere itself made her entire body tense with a mixture of excitement and nervousness.
Eventually, the two drifted into sleep.
...
Early morning sunlight filtered into the room, faint but warm.
It was a weekend, and yet Akira woke up unusually early. As soon as his eyes opened, he realized Meguri Shiromeguri was still nestled in his arms, sleeping soundly.
Her eyelashes trembled slightly, her breathing soft and peaceful.
'She should be waking up soon,'
Akira thought.
He lifted a hand and lightly brushed a strand of hair away from Meguri's cheek. Then, in his own way, he gently wake her.
Meguri's eyes fluttered open. The first thing she saw was Akira's face only a few centimeters away. She immediately lowered her gaze, murmuring shyly.
"G-Good morning, Fujimiya-kun…"
"Good morning, Senpai." Akira greeted her with a relaxed smile.
Meguri's cheeks reddened again. "Good… good morning…"
Akira sat up slowly. "It's a pity I can't spend the whole day with you today. But when you're mentally ready, send me a message. I'll arrange a time for you to stay at Sakurasou."
"M-Mentally ready…"
Her face flushed even deeper.
"I… I'm available anytime…" she whispered shyly.
Akira shook his head softly. "I mean mentally, Senpai. You'll need to be prepared for the possibility that Yukinoshita Yukino or others might find out. They won't criticize you, but you'll probably worry a lot. And if Yukinoshita Haruno discovers it, you might even be afraid of her, right?"
Meguri stiffened. "Haruno-senpai? Akira-kun… you and Senior Haruno…"
She stared at him wide-eyed.
Akira didn't hide anything. He simply nodded.
Meguri's mind went blank.
At that exact moment, his phone rang loudly.
Akira glanced at the screen, then angled it slightly so Meguri could see. Her blood drained instantly—she recognized the caller immediately.
Akira answered the call.
"Akira-kun," Yukinoshita Haruno's melodic voice flowed from the speaker, "I sent a driver to Sakurasou to pick you up, but you're not there. Are you staying at a girl's place? Should I send the driver there instead?"
Meguri's eyes widened in horror.
"No need. I'll return soon," Akira replied calmly, his tone unchanged.
"I heard you joined the student council," Haruno continued lightly. "And you've gotten close to my junior. Are you perhaps at Meguri's apartment?"
Meguri froze completely. Her face went white.
"Yes," Akira answered casually. "Senpai is preparing breakfast for me. Do you want to try her cooking?"
Haruno chuckled. "If I go there, she'll be terrified. I'll visit Sobu another time. When I do, I'd like to have a nice, long talk with her."
Meguri trembled.
Akira raised an eyebrow. "What are you going to talk about?"
"That's a secret. I won't tell Akira-kun." Haruno's voice sounded amused.
The call ended after a few more casual exchanges.
As soon as it disconnected, Akira found Meguri staring at him blankly, fear evident in her eyes.
"F-fujimiya-kun… what do I do?" she whispered.
"It's fine. Haruno was simply teasing you. She won't hurt you, Senpai," Akira reassured her.
"But… Haruno-senpai is from the Yukinoshita family…"
"She'll listen to me," Akira said firmly.
Meguri bit her lip, gathering courage. "If Haruno-senpai asks… I'll tell her the truth. I'm the one who fell for you. I'm the one who wanted to be with you. It's not your fault. It's mine…"
Akira nodded. "If that's your decision, Senpai."
But he knew one thing clearly—Haruno Yukinoshita could always tell who was responsible.
Even if Meguri initiated everything, without Akira taking the lead, nothing would have happened.
....
After breakfast,
Akira didn't let Meguri follow him down. He picked up his guitar case and commuter bag, quietly leaving her room.
On his way out of the building, he spotted the elderly landlady. He offered her a polite nod and smile. The landlady returned the gesture warmly.
Just as Akira stepped out of the gate, he noticed a similar looking sleek black car at the distance.
He stopped walking—
The car rolled up beside him.
The window slid down.
Yukinoshita Haruno sat in the driver's seat, smiling lightly.
"Were you waiting long?" Akira asked.
"Not at all. I just arrived," she replied with her characteristic gentle tone.
Akira placed his belongings in the back seat and slid into the passenger seat. "Thanks for picking me up."
"It's nothing. As long as Akira-kun is willing to accompany me today." Haruno's eyes curved playfully.
"Where are we going?"
"The Yukinoshita family villa," she answered with a mysterious smile.
Akira blinked. "Yukinoshita-san's main residence?"
"That's my mother's villa. I'm taking you to the one Father plans to give to Yukino. I'm helping her check the place beforehand."
"You're a good sister."
"The furniture and the maids have already been transferred there," Haruno added. "We can stay the night."
"Testing the quality of the furniture for Yukino?"
"As her big sister, it's my duty."
The conversation faded into silence as the car sped along the coastal road.
Akira looked toward the sea, waves glittering under the morning sun. The road curved toward the countryside of Chiba.
The old Yukinoshita residence had been demolished and rebuilt into a modern villa last year—quite like a small manor.
The family patriarch had claimed the old house wasn't worth preserving, so he rebuilt everything as a gift for his daughters.
Haruno didn't enjoy living in the quiet mountains, but Yukino loved the environment.
The entire surrounding forest belonged to the Yukinoshita family, making the area completely secluded.
After about thirty minutes, the car turned into a private road and soon approached a guarded gate.
Two armed security guards stepped forward, quickly recognizing Haruno.
They saluted and let the car pass.
Akira noticed their rifles.
"If Akira-kun wants to go hunting later," Haruno said casually, "I can teach you how to handle weapons. There are bears deep in these mountains, so it's permitted."
"I'm not interested in hunting," he replied immediately. 'But I am interested in Guns'
Haruno smiled faintly. "Thought so."
They continued driving another ten minutes.
Then, the scenery opened before them.
Spread across a wide expanse of land stood not merely a villa—
But a full estate.
A mansion with European architecture, bright windows, stone pathways, and a landscaped garden large enough to be a public park.
The car pulled into the parking area.
Akira got out and looked around.
The garden was immaculate, the air fresh, the scenery luxurious. Several maids in crisp uniforms stood near the entrance, bowing respectfully.
"Nice place, isn't it?" Haruno asked.
"Very nice," Akira admitted, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
Haruno leaned slightly closer. "What? Interested in the maids?"
"Very," Akira answered honestly.
Haruno's smile widened. "They're all professionally trained. If Akira-kun has… certain desires, they won't refuse."
Akira exhaled softly. "I'll pass."
He understood perfectly well what she meant—and what implications it had.
One of the maids approached.
Her posture was elegant, her expression dignified.
"Miss Haruno. Master Fujimiya," she greeted politely.
"This is the head maid, Nagano Setsuna," Haruno introduced. "If you need anything, ask her."
The moment Akira heard the name Setsuna, something about it gave him a strange feeling.
Nagano Setsuna continued politely, "Master Fujimiya, is something the matter?"
"No, I'm fine. Just get me a glass of ice cola," Akira replied.
"Yes. I'll prepare it immediately. Miss Haruno, would you like a drink as well?"
"A bottle of wine," Haruno said, smiling.
Setsuna bowed and walked away.
Akira exhaled.
This day was going to be far more complicated than Meguri could ever imagine.
