Chapter 65 - "The Search for a Worthy Rival"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Wait—pirates made it into the "Heroes Behind the Scenes" ranking?!

Has the standard for being called a hero dropped that low?

Across the countless worlds, voices of disbelief flooded every corner of the multiverse.

In most people's minds, pirates were nothing but thieves of the sea.How could thieves be heroes? Much less be chosen by that mysterious "Chronicler" of heroes!

"Whether the Straw Hat Pirates are heroes or not doesn't depend on what they call themselves—it depends on what they've done."

Kakashi murmured quietly from the world of Naruto.

"In a world where justice and evil are so blurry, nothing's too absurd to happen. Let's just watch and see, hehe."

Meliodas chuckled in the Seven Deadly Sins world.

"Pirates and heroes—such a huge contrast. But maybe that's exactly why they're called the 'hidden' heroes. They do good deeds but are never celebrated for them."

Bai Yue Kui from Ling Cage thought to herself.

"Doesn't matter what they are—pirate or not. If the mysterious Chronicler chose them, there must be a reason. Let's just watch before judging."

Rimuru, the Slime King, nodded in agreement.

And so, under the gaze of countless eyes across the worlds—

The story of a boy who vowed to become the Pirate King began.

It all started with a barrel.

Life and death left to fate.

As the straw-hatted boy burst out of that wooden barrel, everyone watching couldn't help but stare blankly.

Where's your ship, kid?

How are you supposed to sail with no ship?

Didn't he have a little boat in the beginning?

Drifting across the sea in a barrel and not drowning—guess that's what they call the "protagonist's halo," huh?

Viewers from every world started roasting him nonstop.

Then the light curtain rolled on—the Straw Hat's grand adventure had officially begun.

He appeared in the East Blue—already maxed out from level one.One punch to defeat the fat lady pirate, rescuing the chubby cabin boy, Coby.

In Shells Town, he met the three-sword-wielding swordsman Zoro and took down the corrupt Marine Captain Morgan.

In Orange Town, he met his second crewmate—the clever "Cat Burglar" Nami—and flattened the clownish pirate Buggy.

Then in Syrup Village, he befriended the lying sharpshooter Usopp and ruined Captain Kuro's twisted plan.

At the floating restaurant Baratie, he found his cook, Sanji, and defeated the East Blue warlord Don Krieg.

And finally, came the biggest arc in the East Blue—

Cocoyasi Village.

When Nami tearfully begged for help,Luffy, for the first time, placed his treasured straw hat on her head, silently promising—I've got this.

Then came the battle at Arlong Park.

With one furious swing of his rubber axe, Luffy shattered both Arlong and his park—and the eight years of darkness that had weighed on Nami's heart.

Battle after battle, no breaks in between—the East Blue saga was thrilling from start to finish.

Audiences across the worlds were hooked.

Especially during the final fight at Arlong Park—when the Straw Hat boy crushed the fish-man tyrant who'd enslaved humans, every human across the multiverse felt a surge of pride.

"That kid may call himself a pirate, but he's really an adventurer."

"Exactly! They haven't done a single act of pillaging—just the opposite, they've saved countless people."

"Shells Town, Orange Town, Syrup Village, Baratie, and now Cocoyasi Village…"

"Everywhere they go, someone's freed from despair. I think I'm starting to get it—this is what it means to liberate people. If they keep going like this, they're true heroes."

The wave of skepticism toward the Straw Hats started to fade fast.

"Luffy and his crew are good people. They're basically free-spirited adventurers flying a pirate flag. And the way they value their friends—no real villain does that. I'm starting to like them!"

Natsu from Fairy Tail grinned, rubbing his nose.

Even Gray, who rarely agreed with him, nodded this time.Mirajane, Wendy, and Lucy were wiping tears from their eyes after Nami's story.

"No doubt about it! That Straw Hat Luffy's a hot-blooded wild wolf of youth—I love it!"

Might Guy from Naruto gave a sparkling thumbs-up, his teeth shining white.

"A bunch of kids chasing their dreams together, supporting each other… there's no way they're evil. Also—Nami-chan is adorable!"

Jiraiya, the Pervy Sage, exhaled twin jets of air from his nose.

...

In the world of Demon Slayer:

"That straw hat kid… he reminds me of Tanjiro somehow. He's a good guy."

Inosuke grunted.

"Not just him—the liar, the pervy cook, the three-sword swordsman, and the cat burglar girl… they're all genuine people."

Rengoku Kyojuro declared proudly.

"That three-sword swordsman though… holding one in his mouth—does that really make him stronger?"

Tengen Uzui raised a brow.

"I don't know about stronger," said Gyomei Himejima gravely, "but that man, Zoro, is a warrior stronger than me!"

"Nani?!"

"Then the swordsman who defeated him—the world's greatest swordsman—must be on another level entirely!"

The Demon Slayer Corps was collectively dumbfounded.

...

Meanwhile, in the One Piece world itself:

"You know… the Straw Hats don't actually seem that bad."

"Yeah, I wouldn't mind if they visited our island."

"They're good kids! Why call themselves pirates?"

"Couldn't they just be adventurers—or bounty hunters or something?"

Public opinion was shifting fast.

"Wait—so the Cocoyasi Village thing… did we get that wrong?"

"Captain Nezumi was colluding with Arlong? I never heard that!"

"The footage doesn't lie though…"

"So that rat really tricked us?"

"Damn it! One rat spoiled the whole pot!"

Even the Marines were furious.

A Marine officer, conspiring with pirates, oppressing twenty islands' worth of civilians for eight years—it was a crushing blow to the Navy's reputation.

If they could, the Marines would've hung that scum up for public beating.

At East Blue's 16th Branch,Captain Nezumi sat pale as a corpse.

"It's over… I'm roasted. Totally BBQ'd…"

...

Fish-Man Island:

"To think Arlong would do something so vile in the East Blue… this is all my fault."

Jinbei, the Warlord of the Sea, said darkly.

Sabaody Archipelago, at Shakky's Rip-Off Bar:

"You kids really are the real deal, huh?"

Shakky smiled.

"No, no, we didn't think that far ahead…"

Luffy and Usopp waved their hands awkwardly.

On the Grand Line, Alabasta Kingdom:

"Princess Vivi, don't cry! You should be happy right now!"

Igaram, the captain of the royal guard, said gently.

"Yes, Princess! The fact that Sir Luffy's deeds are being seen and acknowledged by the world—it's a blessing!"

Bellu the falcon agreed, his voice trembling with excitement.

"I know, I know… I'm just so happy for everyone…"

Vivi nodded, wiping her tears.

"And Father… I guess the truth about me being one of the Straw Hats will be out soon."

"That's fine, Vivi. You should be proud to have such heroic companions."

King Cobra smiled faintly, already prepared to face the truth.

The light curtain faded—the Straw Hat crew's East Blue saga had ended.

...

And now, the Grand Line arc began!

At Twin Cape, the story of Laboon the whale moved countless viewers to tears.

At Whiskey Peak, the reveal that Princess Vivi had been undercover for two and a half years stunned the worlds.

At Little Garden, the century-long duel of two giants left audiences awestruck.

"I'll drive every last giant out of this world!"

Eren from Attack on Titan, trembling with PTSD, clenched his fists.

"Calm down, Eren! They're not the same as our giants—they're intelligent!"

Armin quickly tried to calm him down.

After freeing the two giants from their century-long fate, the Straw Hats sailed to Drum Kingdom, where they met the adorable reindeer doctor, Chopper.

Dr. Hiriluk's words—

"A man only truly dies when he's forgotten."—echoed across worlds, making millions reflect.

And when that miracle cherry blossom bloomed in the dead of winter—there wasn't a dry eye left anywhere.

A week after Drum Kingdom's liberation, the crew and Princess Vivi finally reached the drought-stricken desert nation—Alabasta.

Because of the schemes of the Warlord Crocodile, the country teetered on the edge of civil war.A rebellion involving a million people was about to erupt.

As everyone wondered how the Straw Hats would stop such chaos—

A man appeared.

And in that instant, every world turned its eyes toward him.

"Fire Fist" Ace.The elder brother of Monkey D. Luffy.

"He's here!"

"Of course there's a big bro!"

"Man, being the older brother of a main character is never easy…"

"He's doomed. BBQ'd for sure. No way he's surviving this."

"Of all people, why'd he have to be Luffy's brother?!"

"Big Bro sacrifices himself—unlimited power boost unlocked! Fire Fist Ace, your days are numbered!"

All across the multiverse, people sighed and shook their heads.

It was the law of the hero's world.

Rengoku from Demon Slayer—the big bro figure—had died to fuel Tanjiro's growth. In Akame ga Kill, both Brand and Susanoo had fallen to push Tatsumi forward.

And now…

Luffy's big brother had shown up.

The pattern was clear. There was no escaping it.

"Ah, I can tell from his face already," sighed Taoist Wang from The One Man World."He doesn't have a long-life aura. Poor guy's really gonna die soon."

"As the great philosopher Volskisord once said," drawled Lu Mingfei from Dragon Raja,"No Big Bro can ever escape the fate of being sacrificed!"

"Volskisord? Who the hell's that supposed to be?" Caesar frowned.

Then realization struck.

"Wait a sec… that's just something you made up!"

Lu Mingfei snickered.

"Heh heh heh…"

And somewhere across the worlds, Fire Fist Ace probably sneezed.

"..."
