Chapter 57 - "The Mahāpādmā That Freezes Time!"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The Imperial Capital — Execution Square.

"Citizens of the Empire! Lately, some fools have been spreading baseless rumors that the Empire is about to fall. Such nonsense troubles Us deeply—but you, loyal subjects, need not believe these lies!"

"Today, I will personally execute the traitor disturbing the Empire's order—one of the Night Raid rebels! These criminals are the vanguard of the uprising that caused this chaos!"

"They slaughter the innocent for their own gain! The Empire, and this glorious capital, will never allow such evil to run rampant! The Empire—our Empire—is eternal!"

The young emperor stood upon the scaffold, reading the speech his ministers had prepared. His small voice rang through the square.

All across the countless worlds watching, people were seething.

"That kid… how can he spout that crap with a straight face?"

"Can't he see it himself? The Empire's rotting from the inside because of his own incompetence!"

"He's hopeless. That little emperor's just a puppet of that minister, Honest."

"I really thought maybe he was biding his time—waiting for the right moment to strike back…"

"Guess not. The boy's completely under the minister's thumb."

Many shook their heads, hearts heavy.

Among the rulers of other worlds—emperors, kings, and queens watching the feed—some took notes grimly. The wise ones immediately began purging their own corrupt ministers and scheming courtiers.

They might be strong enough to rule in their own time, but after they were gone, who knew what would happen? Better to cut the weed before it grew fangs.

But for the common people watching, what mattered wasn't imperial politics. It was the public execution—and the fate of Tatsumi.

"It's over. Not just Esdeath—the Empire's strongest—but even General Budo's here, guarding the square. Ice and lightning. Who could break through those two? No matter who tries, it's suicide. We can only give up. Harsh as it sounds, Tatsumi chose this path—he knew what it meant."

...

In the Fate world, Kiritsugu Emiya lowered his gaze, eyes dull.

"Not Tatsumi too…? He's just like Tanjiro… and Subaru… all kind, selfless idiots. There's really no hope left?"

From Re:Zero, Emilia twisted her fingers nervously, her pretty face full of worry.

"Ah… ahhhh, no, no. Tanjiro and Tatsumi—they're angels. But me? I'm nothing like them, Emilia-tan, you're giving me way too much credit!"

Subaru waved his hands frantically, half-panicking as usual.

"Kurararara! Don't count them out yet! Night Raid's more than comrades—they're family! You think they'd just watch a family member get executed without a fight?"

In the One Piece world, Whitebeard's deep laugh rumbled.

"Oi! Look! The sky—Night Raid's coming!!"

In Demon Slayer, the flamboyant Sound Hashira pointed upward, shouting.

Whoosh!Boom!

A blinding energy blast shot down from the sky, forcing Esdeath to leap back from Tatsumi's side.

Atop the rooftops—

"You idiot, Tatsumi! Don't make us worry like that!"

Twin-tailed tsundere sniper girl Mine pulled the trigger again and again, scattering the crowd with explosive shots.

Up above, Najenda, the white-haired boss, circled on a flying danger beast alongside Leone and the humanoid Teigu, Susanoo.

"So you finally show yourself, Najenda," Esdeath said with a faint smile.

"Had no choice," Najenda replied coolly.

"You traitor to the Empire. Long time no see. Why don't we have a nice long chat—in the torture chamber?"

"I'll pass," Najenda said flatly, flipping a switch.

Boom!Rumble!

Explosions erupted all around the square—their hidden bombs detonating at once.

"You think you can save your comrade? Foolish dream, Night Raid!"

General Budo finally moved.

Lightning surged from his arms as he raised them high. His Teigu, Adramelech the Rage of Thunder God, roared to life, blasting their flying beast out of the sky.

"This sacred ground isn't for the likes of you. Be honored to become dust for my Teigu."

Bolts of lightning rained down as Budo attacked without mercy. Mine and Leone were forced back, struggling to even stay on their feet.

Leone tried to rush him, claws bared, but even her Beast King form couldn't withstand the overwhelming power of the storm.

"Damn it—lightning's the worst! Just like Laxus!"

In Fairy Tail, Natsu clenched his fists in frustration.

"Lightning has always been the mightiest force under heaven," murmured Daoist Uncle Nine from the Mr. Vampire world. "It's divine judgment itself. No creature can defy it. Even the dead fear thunder."

"Ah, lightning… such a terrifying power," sighed Emperor Li Er of Tang. "Even heroes like Yuanba fell under its wrath…"

"The heavens are dead, the yellow sky will rise! In this year of Jiazi, may thunder bless me!" cried Zhang Jiao of Three Kingdoms, waving his staff dramatically.

The battle raged on.

Mine was cornered, lightning crashing all around her.

But—

The more desperate her situation, the stronger her Teigu, Pumpkin, became. Fueled by emotion, its firepower kept growing.

"So that's how it works… this weapon truly resonates with you. But it won't save you," Budo sneered, intensifying the lightning until it overwhelmed her beam.

"Wait, what? She's on the left side of the screen—she's supposed to win! That's how anime beam clashes work!"

In Gintama, Gintoki screamed in disbelief.

"Gin-chan, it's not over aru! Mine hasn't lost yet!" Kagura shouted, eyes wide.

On-screen, Mine forced herself back up, trembling but unbroken.

"This is mercy—I'll make your death quick!"

Budo hovered above, wreathed in lightning, a living god of thunder.

"I don't need your mercy. We're all going home—every one of us!"

Blood on her lips, Mine raised her weapon.

"Stubborn girl! Taste my Teigu's ultimate—Thunderstorm Barrage!!"

Boom!

An enormous thunderball crashed down from the heavens.

At the same time, Pumpkin's barrel glowed—brighter than ever before.

It was answering her heart.

BOOM!!!

The resulting blast dwarfed even the one that killed Seryu. A single energy beam—bright enough to pierce the stars—tore through the clouds.

Budo's lightning shattered. The beam ripped straight through him, through the sky itself.

The mighty General Budo—defeated.

Mine—victorious!

Cheers erupted across worlds.

"She did it!"

"That tsundere sniper's amazing!"

"That blast could've shot through the galaxy!"

"She beat lightning—with a rifle! That's a miracle!"

"No, not a miracle. That's the power of love!"

"Of course! Saving Tatsumi gave her that strength!"

"Ha! Left side finally wins again!"

In the Imperial Palace, Budo himself watched the recording in disbelief.

"I lost… to that little girl?"

Minister Honest shook his head. "Tsk tsk. Still not strong enough, General. But it's fine. Even without you, we still have General Esdeath. She won't lose."

Meanwhile, at Night Raid's temporary base—

"Whew~! Nice shot!"

"You were amazing, Mine!"

"Can't believe you actually beat Thunder Grandpa!"

Everyone was celebrating, full of pride and relief.

"Ah—no, it wasn't that big a deal…" Mine rubbed her head, flustered.

"Love's power, huh? Your feelings for Tatsumi really pushed you past your limit!" teased Lubbock with a grin.

"H-huh?! Shut up, idiot! Don't talk nonsense!" Mine barked, face red.

"Alright, enough flirting," Akame said calmly. "It's not over yet."

Right. The battle wasn't over.

Budo was down—but Esdeath still stood. The true final boss.

The feed shifted underground—to the final confrontation.

Najenda and Susanoo faced Esdeath herself.

"So this is your Teigu?" Esdeath smirked.

"Yes. Its name is Susanoo," Najenda replied.

"You didn't need to tell me. I'll destroy it before I bother remembering the name."

Esdeath waved her hand—hundreds of ice lances shot forward.

Susanoo swung his weapon, smashing them all, then launched himself forward with blinding speed.

But she was Esdeath—the Empire's strongest.

Within seconds, she slipped past his guard, pressed a pale hand to his face, and whispered,

"Freeze."

Crack!

Frost burst forth, encasing him completely.

In desperation, Najenda unleashed her last resort—Demon Manifestation.

Susanoo shattered the ice, reappearing in his final, raging form.

"Ohhhhhh!!"

"It's here—the hidden power of Susanoo!"

"His demon form! Maybe now he's got a chance!"

Hope surged across the multiverse.

The clash between Susanoo's demon form and Esdeath began.

"Interesting," she said casually, blocking his massive strikes as if they were nothing. "But still not enough. I'll shatter you—core and all."

Ice spikes rained like a storm.

"Yata Mirror!"

Susanoo shouted, bringing a shining mirror before him. It absorbed and reflected the attacks, both energy and physical.

Najenda clenched her teeth. "Even with this… it's still not enough."

The situation was dire—but just then, the others succeeded aboveground.

Mine had defeated Budo. Akame had rescued Tatsumi.

Seeing that, Najenda made her decision. "Retreat!"

"Don't even think about it!" Esdeath snapped.

"Ame-no-Murakumo!"

Susanoo's massive sword swung down, aiming to cut her in half.

But an ice wall rose instantly, blocking the blade.

"Now!" Najenda pressed the detonator, triggering the remaining bombs.

If the explosions didn't kill Esdeath, they'd at least buy them time.

Or so everyone thought.

But then—

"Heh."

A faint smile curved Esdeath's lips.

Dark blue energy swirled in her hands.

"In my presence… all things shall freeze."

Her voice was calm, chillingly so.

"Mahābodhi!"

Her Teigu unleashed its ultimate form.

Deep blue frost erupted, spreading across the battlefield.

And in an instant—everything stopped.

Susanoo's great sword froze mid-swing.

Najenda froze mid-motion, teeth still clenched.

The explosions halted, suspended in midair like silent fireworks.

Across the infinite worlds, billions stared in disbelief.

Esdeath stepped lightly through the still air, moving as if in slow, graceful dance.

She drew her blade—and drove it through Susanoo's frozen chest.

BOOM!

Time resumed. The blasts roared again.

Susanoo looked down at his crystallizing body, helpless as ice spread through him.

CRACK.

Esdeath kicked the frozen giant apart—then lifted her heel and crushed the glowing magatama core beneath it.

"It's over. Now… why don't you all come quietly to the interrogation room?" she said, smiling sweetly.

The multiverse went silent.

"Wha—what just happened!?"

"The whole scene froze! Did the stream lag!?"

"No, look—she was still moving!"

"Yeah! Esdeath didn't stop at all!"

"That… that was her ultimate technique!"

"She froze everything—even time itself!"

"The Empire's strongest woman… she literally froze the universe!!"

A tidal wave of awe swept through every world.

Esdeath's name, her power, her beauty—once again, the entire multiverse trembled before her.

"..."
