..... KINGSWILL HIGHSCHOOL.....
In front of the school gate, students were rushing in while chatting and laughing. It was the first day of the new term after the long summer holiday. Others hurried off to their classrooms, eager to begin the new academic year.
Jovan and Jason had just arrived and strolled towards the entrance. but the moment they walked through the school gates. their presence drew attention as always. Not only because of their good looks, but also for their intelligence and exceptional skills.
Jovan was good with his studies and could handle any question as if it were nothing. Some students even said that he can solve a question just with a simple snap of his fingers. And some teachers felt it was useless giving him a test paper to solve. while Jason was known for his athletic skills. He was the best player on the basketball team and had led the school to win several competitions, which earned him the title of team captain and a nickname called "The Hitman" because of his exceptional scoring skills. Each of them excelled in their own field, and whatever they did always seemed flawless...which is why students now call them "The Campus gods."
They were so handsome that many students couldn't even decide who looked better. But every term, the "handsome ranking" list was released by the students, Jovan always took the number one spot, with Jason following right behind him before others. Whispers and stares followed them as their walk towards the school building. Some girls giggled, while some waved shyly, others simply froze with their heart racing in their chest, as the two boys passed.
"Jovan!!"
"Jason!!"
Some of the female students began to called them as their passed by.
"Don't they get tired of doing that" Jason said at the sight of some female students going crazy at the corridor while screaming their names.
"Maybe they just miss you" Jovan said with a teasing smile as their continued to walk.
"That's not even my problem right now" Jason said and closed his eyes, he took a deep breath and continued. "Can't believe I will be sitting in maths classes again?.That teacher is a full-blown psycho, I swear!. Thinking about him gives me nightmares." Jason rubbed his neck in frustration.
"Yeah, he can be overbearing at times. But he's not that bad." Jovan said with a short laugh
"Not that bad you said?. Jason asked with raised brows. "Jovan, have you forgotten he gave us a pop quiz last term with fifty question to solve, just within ten minutes!. Who does that?
"Nah.. I still remember that. fifty question's in ten minutes was really insane. But come on, it's just basic algebra and geometry." Jovan said casually and adjusted his school bag on his shoulder.
Jason sighed. "Basic for you, Mr. Math Wizard. Meanwhile, I was sitting there thinking I walked into a dense foggy forest.
Jovan smirked "Stop complaining and study hard, You'll catch up soon.
"Yeah, I guess that will be in my next life.
Jason said with a grins and nudges Jovan by the side. "Anyway" he continued. "forget about the maths. Are you getting a girlfriend this term?. Jason suddenly asked.
"Huh!" Jovan narrowed his eyes at him. "Are you being serious right now?." He couldn't help but ask.
"Yes I'm serious, and you better stop behaving like an ice cube, or else no girl will accept to marry you in the future." Jason said with an amused smile on his face.
"See who's talking. As if you had one, and why do I need to get another girlfriend when there's one walking beside me?
Jason abruptly stops in his tracks and stares at Jovan with an unbelievable look on his face. "Wa...wait...what?" He stuttered a bit.
"You heard me right" jovan said with a straight face.
"Urgh"
Jason pretends to gag "Brooo! What is wrong with you?! Better stay away from me, before people start thinking I'm doing something weird with you!." Jason took a couple of steps back and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Stop acting crazy now, will you?." Jovan said
"I'm no longer safe around you. I think I need to find new friends. Jason said and both of them laughed out loud.
Despite all the attention, Jovan and Jason walked casually, as though none of it mattered. They had grown used to it, so much that it barely affected them anymore.
As they headed toward the corridor leading to their classroom, they exchanged a few more words.
But the calm of the morning was suddenly interrupted.
A steady footsteps echoed through the hallway.
Turning the corner ahead was Mr. Benjamin, the mathematics teacher. A man in his late forties with few gray hair's and a reading glasses on his stern face.
He was well known across the school for his strict, and no-nonsense approach. Punctuality and discipline were his laws, and he expected every student to follow them without question.
"Jovan! Jason!" his voice rang out at the corridor and the boys instantly froze.
"Why are you two walking so slowly?, the bell
is about to ring, and the classes will be starting soon. You should be running to the classroom not strolling around as if you're in the park!" Mr. Benjamin scolded them
Before Jovan or Jason could reply, the sound of a car engine roared through the school gate, pulling everyone's attention including Mr. Benjamin's. Students scattered to the sides, whispering excitedly as the vehicle rolled to a stop.
Then the doors opened and the first to step out of the car was Angela Rowley. she has an average hight with short black hair and calm personality. followed by Lisa Reynolds. the life of the party. She giggled softly as she stepped out of the car. She has a long black hair and a beautiful smile. And finally Sophia Walker. the one who silenced the hallway without saying a word.
Known across the school, as "the Queen."
She's was rated as the most beautiful girl in the campus, and it's easy to see why. She has a graceful, delicate figure and a pretty face, That always drew attention, and she alway stands out without even trying.
Not just because of her looks, but also because of who she is. The walker's family was one of the wealthiest in the city, which only added to the attention she got. People didn't just admire how she looked, they noticed the way she handled herself, like she was always in control without needing to say much.
This three friends are known as the "Campus Belles".
As the trio walked down the hallway, students couldn't help but admire them. But despite the attention from the students, Sophia was oblivious to her surrounding, her mind seems to be somewhere else, thinking about someone far more important than the admiring gazes of the students.
Her eyes scanned the hallway, searching for someone.
Then her eyes finally found them.
Jovan and Jason who were standing with Mr. Benjamin.
Her heart skipped a bit, And a smile appeared on her beautiful face. It had been weeks since she had last seen him. Jovan.
there was one thing Sophia wanted more than anything else, and that is Jovan's attention.
Sophia had always had her eyes on Jovan, but it seemed like he was deliberately avoiding her. Despite her popularity, wealth, and beauty. Yet, no matter how hard she tried, he had never payed attention to her in the way she wanted. Every time their came across each other, and their eyes met, it felt like there was an invisible wall between them. It was as if she was invisible in his eyes.
