Chapter 61 - Ch-61 The Aftermath

The news hit all of Konoha like a landslide. It was as if something unnatural had occurred—something that should never have happened. Never before had the village lost a camp so deep within its own territory.

All the higher-ups wore solemn expressions. Hiruzen Sarutobi himself couldn't help but look up, a flash of disappointment flickering in his tired eyes before he shook his head, turning his gaze to the man standing before him.

Orochimaru—his most prized disciple—had entered his office.

His presence alone carried weight, and Hiruzen's heart sank further. The man's deeds were not something the Hokage could overlook, especially with talk of the next successor already circulating.

"I know what you did… and why you did it, Orochimaru," Hiruzen said, his gruff voice filled with exhaustion.

Orochimaru hissed softly, golden eyes narrowing as he stared at the man he once called sensei.

Two long minutes passed before he finally spoke.

"I see… you are disappointed." His tone carried no emotion—neither guilt nor defiance.

He saw no point in defending himself. What was one man supposed to do against a perfect Jinchūriki and the successor to the Raikage? At least I brought back information, he thought, the rumor about Kumo possessing a perfect Jinchūriki wasn't a rumor after all.

"Go," Hiruzen muttered simply.

Just as the news reached him, it spread like wildfire to others—those far more concerned about Kyojiro's safety than the loss of a camp.

The moment Jiraiya heard the report, he immediately teleported to Mount Myōboku.

His face was ashen, fingers twitching occasionally, though he tried to hide it. Among all his disciples, Kyojiro had spent the least amount of time with him—yet somehow, Jiraiya had grown attached to the fiery-haired Uchiha.

The one who defied the norm, who sought ideals in a world that crushed them.

His eyes watered. No… no way such a man would die such a useless death.

His mind began to race. Jiraiya was, first and foremost, a master spy—one who knew the inner workings of Kumogakure better than most in Konoha.

The Raikage seeks value in bloodlines and in shinobi… Jiraiya increased his pace, rushing toward the Toad Temple. If they fought him, they must have sensed that unique swordsmanship. That should interest them enough to keep him alive… I hope.

The moment he burst into the temple, his gaze locked onto the Great Toad Sage. He didn't waste a second.

"Great Toad Sage… you remember the fiery-haired ninja that came here? The human sage who greeted you? He's been captured—please tell me, is he alive or dead?"

His words rang hollow in the mosaic chamber. The ancient ornaments seemed dull, the scriptures that had endured for centuries suddenly meaningless.

All Jiraiya wanted—needed—to know was whether his disciple still drew breath.

…..

Minato, too, was shaken when he heard the news. He had just returned from a mission when the message arrived.

Sitting beside him, Kushina watched the expressionless face of her husband with growing worry. Her gentle voice cut through the heavy silence.

"Minato, what happened? You can tell me."

Minato turned toward her, his eyes distant.

"Remember that boy from the academy—three years younger than me, always trying to befriend me? Said he found me 'cool'?"

Kushina nodded, the atmosphere darkening with every passing word.

"I met him some time ago," Minato continued quietly. "A chunin then, working alone without a team. I brought him along on missions as a friend. He'd changed—gentler, an idealist… and above all, he was strong." His voice trembled, a lone tear forming at the corner of his eye. "I just heard he fought against the A–B duo of Kumogakure."

Kushina stayed silent, letting him speak, letting him grieve.

"Orochimaru left him behind… ran away," Minato said, his tone darkening, hatred bleeding through. "He must have fought with everything he had. But the report says Kumo won."

Kushina didn't need more explanation. She already understood. If he was lucky, he had died quickly. If not… she couldn't even imagine the tortures of Kumogakure. After all, they had once tried to kidnap her too.

Shaking away her thoughts, she focused on Minato, taking him gently into her arms.

She didn't speak or even breathe too loudly—just let him feel her warmth, her presence, her unspoken reassurance that she was there.

And perhaps for the first time, Minato cried. The man who would one day bear so much—the death of two disciples, the betrayal of Obito—let his vulnerability show at home.

And just like that, the night passed.

Yet Kumo remained unaware that their fate had already shifted. The Yellow Flash of the Leaf—who was destined to strike terror into Iwagakure—had now set his sights on Kumogakure.

Minato was coming.

And this time, he wasn't planning to show mercy.

…..

Hiss.

The moment the blindfold came off, Kyojiro felt the searing heat of the sun hit his eyes without mercy. He blinked, struggling to make the blackness fade.

His mind was jumbled—tired, confused, heavy.

Am I dead? Once more?

But as his vision cleared, he realized where he was. Cold, harsh winds brushed against his skin. The air smelled different—not like home, and definitely not like the Land of Fire.

He looked around to find himself standing on a circular platform of marble and stone—elegant, pristine. Around him towered vast mountains, distant yet enclosing, as if guarding the place.

"So, you are finally awake."

A gruff yet absolute voice sounded from behind.

His eyes widened. Why didn't I sense anything?

"You must be wondering why you couldn't sense me…" the voice said, growing closer. The figure soon stepped into view—a mountain of a man, dark-skinned and massive, his presence radiating power.

"Those handcuffs you're wearing," he said, "ensure you can't use your chakra."

Kyojiro's breath hitched. Before him stood the very image of dominance and control.

"You stand before the Third Raikage of the Land of Lightning," came a familiar voice from his side.

A stepped forward, his brother B following behind.

.......

yes guys, that wasn't the ending..obviously. I am not cruel enough to end it there guys. Now guys, here is the big questions so please read this msg alright.

throughout the first half of the story, Kyojiro tried to carry Rengoku's mantle, idealistic and carrying justice.. This time, he has to grow.. become something more than the ideal.

So guys.. Technically Kumo has kidnapped him.. By all logic, they should technically rape him and make him bear his Uchiha bloodline. Yk Kumo has done it in Cannon and there is no rule against it.. even if it were, they would do it in secret.

The point is- Can you all handle it?

I can do something simpler, maybe just prison him and try to extract his swordsmanship secret.. I can find the right logic for that as well.

It's just, Idk how attached you are to Kyojiro and wether you will be able to handle if that happens to him.
