Chapter 274 - Chapter 274: Heavenly Yaksha vs. Law

On the isolated island of Green Bit, just off the coast of Dressrosa, the air was thick with the scent of ozone and blood. A desperate battle was unfolding. On one side stood the current master of Dressrosa and veteran Warlord, the "Heavenly Yaksha" Donquixote Doflamingo. Opposing him was Trafalgar Law, a man who had only recently ascended to the rank of Warlord himself.

Normally, Doflamingo might have restrained his long-standing grudge against Law to protect his standing with the World Government. However, Law had just crossed a line that the Heavenly Yaksha could not ignore. He had systematically destroyed the Donquixote Family's supply ships—vessels specifically tasked with transporting vital resources to the Beasts Pirates' four main fleets across the world.

In the past, such a loss would have been a mere nuisance, but the timing was catastrophic. With the recent fallout between Kaido and the World Government over the Egghead incident, tensions had reached a boiling point. Doflamingo knew he could not afford to face the wrath of the Beasts Pirates if their supplies failed to arrive during such a critical phase of open hostility. Driven by a mix of fear and fury, he had personally intercepted Law at Green Bit before the younger pirate could make his escape.

Despite Law's growth over the last two years, he was still outmatched by a seasoned powerhouse like Doflamingo. He had survived the last thirty minutes only by using his Devil Fruit to teleport, playing a lethal game of cat-and-mouse. But even that reached its limit. Transparent, razor-sharp strings finally pierced Law's limbs, pinning him to the earth like a broken insect.

"Damn it... did I still fail?" Law spat blood, staring weakly at the blue sky.

Doflamingo didn't offer mercy. He brought his boot down on Law's chest with a series of sickening thuds. "Fufufufufu! This is the end, Law. I've run out of patience. Go join my poor, foolish brother."

Doflamingo raised his hand, his fingers twitching as he wove transparent threads into a lethal arrow aimed directly at Law's heart.

"Stop, Doflamingo!" a voice barked from above.

A massive fist made of billowing white smoke descended from the sky, slamming into the ground where Doflamingo had stood a second before. The earth cracked under the impact. Doflamingo leapt back, the veins on his forehead bulging with irritation as he looked at the newcomer.

"Marine Vice Admiral, 'White Chase' Smoker," Doflamingo hissed, his voice dripping with venom. "Do you have any idea what you're doing?"

Smoker stood his ground, a pair of cigars clenched in his teeth, his gaze shifting between the two Warlords. "I know exactly what I'm doing. As a Warlord, you know the World Government forbids internal strife between its members, don't you?"

Doflamingo's killing intent erupted in a visible wave. "Do you think I care about a pathetic title? You think I'd let you people dance on my face for the sake of a status I don't even need?"

Before Smoker could even draw his weapon, Doflamingo vanished. A sharp pain exploded in the Vice Admiral's chest as blood sprayed the grass. A giant hand clamped onto Smoker's head, and Doflamingo's cold face appeared inches from his own. "You Logia users are all the same—you eat a Natural Devil Fruit and think you're invincible. If the Marines want to threaten me, they should at least send an Admiral."

Doflamingo prepared to deliver a killing blow, but a sudden realization made him look behind him. Law was gone. The spot where he had been pinned was empty. Infuriated by the trickery, Doflamingo turned his gaze toward the forest.

"Fufufufufu... run all you want, Law. God Thread!"

A black arrow, hardened by Armament Haki, tore through the air and pierced Smoker's heart as an afterthought. The Vice Admiral was tossed aside like trash, his wide eyes looking at the sky as his consciousness faded. In the silence that followed, a strange buzzing sound filled his ears. In his blurry vision, a single bee flew over his prone body.

Meanwhile, in the vibrant, sun-drenched streets of Dressrosa, the Straw Hat Pirates had arrived. Disguised as tourists to avoid the gaze of the World Government, the crew moved through the lively crowds. The women wore light summer dresses while the men stuck to short sleeves and shorts.

Walking among them was a man in traditional Wano attire: the samurai Kin'emon. His face was a mask of grief as he stared at the Donquixote Family flags fluttering in the breeze.

"So, Kin'emon, you're sure your child was brought here?" Nami asked, her voice full of concern.

"There is no mistake," Kin'emon replied, clenching his fists. "My son, Momonosuke, and I secretly boarded a ship with that flag to leave Wano. But we were starving, and I must have passed out. When I woke up, he was gone. The ship only made one stop—this island, Dressrosa."

Nami sighed, looking at the sprawling city. "This place is huge. How are we going to find him?"

While the rest of the crew felt for the samurai, Zoro and Robin exchanged a knowing look. The timing was too perfect, the coincidences too sharp. They remembered Law's cryptic warnings from when they first allied with the Heart Pirates. Still, seeing Luffy's enthusiastic grin, they kept their suspicions to themselves.

"Alright! Let's split up and search the city," Luffy declared. "We'll find him together!"

The crew divided into three groups. While searching, Luffy and Robin eventually found the hidden bridge leading to Green Bit. There, they caught sight of the desperate chase between Law and Doflamingo.

With that discovery, the spark was lit, and the war between the Straw Hat Pirates, the Heart Pirates, and the Donquixote Family officially began.
