Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: beginning to an end

As The unfamiliar building stood its ground in front of Vienna's scowl, a horde of voices could be heard as teenagers began to flood out of buses and cars. They were all the latest models, with dark windows and sunroofs closed so as to shy away from the autumn breeze. The summer weeks of school had come to an end after all. Most of all though, not a speck of dust or grime could be seen on the hoods nor the tires, the only thing Vienna could see was her own sour expression in the door of the Cadillac limousine directly behind her, which she quickly reverted in an effort not to stand out more than she already felt she did. It seemed to be too late, however, as the back door opened and out stood a dark, tall figure who wore everything but the school's blazer, preferring to don it on his shoulder. The figure glared down at Vienna as he slicked his dreadlocks away from his face, a small kiss of the teeth piercing from his, less-than-appeased expression as he spoke.

"The fuck are you looking at?"

Vienna was horrified, not just because she pissed off someone before even reaching into the school's grounds, but because the face that stood above her looked eerily familiar, as if she'd known him for her whole life.

"Cyr-" Vienna's inquiry could not be fulfilled as the figure pushed himself past her with ease, his words floating away in the wind as he walked towards the main entrance.

"If you have nothing to say, at least move out of the way."

The figure began to blend in as he flowed into the stream of students, all making their way to their first classes of the day. After a minute of standing in shock, it was once again just Vienna and the lone building, except only she could be the one to start running inside.

The inside of the school felt prestigious, it screaming posh in a way her old school didn't. As she walked around the trophy scattered hallways, she couldn't help but feel isolated, lonely.

An outcast in unfamiliar trenches. Vienna grumbled with disgust as she finally made it to her first class of the day, maths. An awful subject, she thought to herself as she slummed in her seat, students slowly piled in filling the classroom with laughter and noise that Vienna didn't appreciate.

She scratches at the desk, unable to really focus on her surroundings- the class went by quickly, as did most of her day. Vienna primarily focused on her work, wanting to remove herself from the school and life as soon as possible. The clock chimed 12 pm, Vienna peered around as all the students hurriedly got ready for their favourite time of day- she rolled her eyes, picking up her textbooks and waving her teacher off preparing for the worst. The hallways felt like a battlefield, sectioned into groups with students fighting for authority and dominance. Vienna tried to avoid stumbling amongst the various students, however as luck may have had it her clumsy left feet dived right into someone. Laying on her hands and feet, her flustered face looked up at who she may have bumped into. Her eyes met with his, them being as black as onyx, with his locks resembling the darkened leaves that dispersed across the floor.

He looked down at her with a wary look, his hands immediately rushed to help her up.

"I'm so sorry, are you alright?"

Asher looked all across her body to check if she was bruised.

"No- no I'm fine"

Vienna blurted out, her tongue feeling swollen.

"Wow you're- you're so hot-"

Her mouth spoke faster than her brain could process, narrowing on his sharped jaw and muscular build. She finally bit her tongue as she saw the strangers flustered face.

"Oh? Thanks.. Uh.. what's your name?"

"V.. Vienna. Vienna Redlock Shantley."

"The new kid? I'm so happy to finally meet you. I'm- "

She finally pulled away realizing they were still holding hands.

"Sorry- we shouldn't be so close. You do have a wife after all!"

Vienna finally locked in cutting him off in the process, now remembering where she is and what's happening.

He gave her a puzzled look, but before he could say anything, a known voice rang from behind him.

"dude! Come on already!"

Vienna tilted her head to the side, gazing at Cyrus, the rude boy she met earlier. He pulled the stranger away with a crude look, eyeing Vienna in a way that told her to fuck off. They both walked ahead, a few people crowded the table they sat at, people Vienna didn't recognize. She huffed, mentally screaming at everything that just happened. Right whatever lets just get lunch, Vienna told herself, eyeing the lunch queue.

She got her plate after waiting and immediately darted for a lone table in the corner of the room, slowly eating her lunch, occasionally glancing over at the table the two sat at, beating herself up in her head over the stupid conversation they had earlier. The hours after weren't as eventful, with all the students prestigiously working on their assignments. Vienna was a fast writer, being already done half way through the lesson, having time to think to herself she let her mind wander. Vivid pictures of the wedding she brought up earlier flash in front of eyes, as if she were truly there- wearing a mystical pink lace gown with glitter lining the bodice, dancing in a vast ballroom that felt all too familiar. In fact so familiar that if she were to just reach out.. RING RING ! Vienna's face flushed as she quickly packer her things, she squinted her eyes thinking of how embarrassing it must've been if anyone saw her actually reach for nothing out of no-where. Well at least schools over, no way to embarrass myself now! she nodded to herself, leaving class to go to the parking lot where her driver waited.
