Chapter 2 - The Alpha's Son

Elysia's POV

"Mate." Why was he looking at me saying that, or had I read his lips wrong? Not wanting to keep myself stuck in what I felt was a momentary lapse, I cut gaze with the mysterious man who left everyone in awe at his intrusion—even the Alpha seemed surprised.

"Son…" How many more sons does the Alpha have? He has a lot of wives and mistresses, tons of daughters that I have heard of. I have learned about each name and faces of the Dravon's but he wasn't among, why? Where have you been?

I don't know how, but the sweet scent of leather wafted into my nose as I heard the sound thud of shoes meeting the floor, the sounds getting closer until it stopped.

"Congratulations, Father."

My face was down the entire time, but I felt a scorching gaze piercing through my soul… It made a weird feeling settle deep within me, but it wasn't fear. I felt butterflies pull in my stomach, goosebumps forming on my neck. Aside from being one of the Alpha's sons, who was this man to get such a reaction from me?

"Thank you, Ronan."

The Alpha's hand came around my waist, pulling me close to him, and I just wanted to pull away. I never wanted any of this to happen. I would be just a sex slave and a baby mama, but called with dignity ''wife'

One of the rules I had learned at sixteen, alongside training my body with a dildo, was never to anger the Alpha. The heads of his wives who had stolen from him were still in the dungeon. If they disobeyed or tried to run away from him, their families would be placed for brutal slaughter.

Father, to save his head, had lied to me about loving me, which I knew he didn't, but I wouldn't want anyone dying for me. I was the Alpha's property, and there was no going back. But the feel of being touched by him made my gut tingle and I prayed not to do what was in my head.

"We should celebrate!!!"

The Alpha squeezed my waist tightly before he went back to his seat on the altar, bringing me close as he made me sit on his lap. Our bodies were close. I could feel his hard-on pressing into my buttocks, and I tried to move away from the contact unnoticed, but his hand caught my waist, forcefully pulling me back on him. His fingers trailed from my hips back up to the side of my breast before he groped one of them in his hand, rubbing on it.

My eyes burned with unshed tears, my teeth coming down on my lower lips hardly.

"What was your warning as a young girl, Elysia?"

He was grinding into me, and I knew if he wanted to strip my clothes off me, he would have done it right here. I had no right to tell him to stop, but I could swear to serve the devil to escape from him, from this embarrassment, from this twisted fantasy some girls would have loved to be in—but not me.

I was okay at home, playing around with my nanny, her son, who was just two years older than I was and her son's friend who was my omega friend too.

I could still feel that strange piercing gaze on me, but now that gaze brought a sense of fear in me. I looked forward to where the Alpha's son stood before, but he wasn't there. Where was this gaze coming from now?

"When I talk, you look at me and listen to me. When I ask a question, you answer me. Understood?"

He grabbed my neck, forcing me to look at him, and his face was burning with anger.

"Yes, Alpha."

"Good girl. Now, your warning as a little girl?"

He squeezed my mounds, and I didn't know what he thought that brought to me because I never believed people would bring physical pain without reason.

"To obey you…"

"And what, Elysia?"

His gaze darkened with desire as he grabbed the glass of alcohol the Beta had brought him, downing it in a wild gulp.

"I shouldn't resent your touch."

"Good girl."

He dropped the empty glass cup, bringing that same hand to my hips again as he hitched closer to my most private area. It felt like I was on a thin line, my chest thumping.

My husband was the only one allowed to go there, but I never considered the Alpha as one. I was supposed to love the man I had been betrothed to, but…

Before his hand could go further, the sound of war breaking out in the hall distracted all.

My head turned to where the huge fight was taking place. People moved away from the scene to give a view of an injured black wolf and a man in a heated battle. A man fighting a wolf with bare hands without transforming—it looked magical to me. But to the rest of the pack, they didn't seem surprised. I wondered where he had gotten his power and confidence from.

He caught the huge wolf by its head, slamming the beast into the wall, which made a light crack immediately. The fight was getting really close to where I sat with the Alpha.

Seeing the Alpha distracted, I used that as an opportunity to get off him, but that decision almost led to my death.

A loud scream erupted from my lips as the body of the huge wolf hurtled towards me. My breath caught as I closed my eyes, waiting for the impact—waiting to be buried straight into the wall, waiting for the mockery of how weak I was, for not stopping the hit of a wolf, if I survived this.

But nothing came.

Instead, an iron grip wrapped around my waist as my back slammed into something as solid as a rock.

I gasped, hearing a crashing sound, my eyes pulling open immediately.

The Alpha's seat was brought down to ruin as the wolf had crashed into it with the Alpha nowhere to be found. The wolf's chest matched mine as low growls left its lips. It was weak—too weak to stand and strike.

The solid wall behind me suddenly developed a beating heart.

I looked down at my waist to find a strong veiny arm holding me still.

"Are you okay?"

A deep baritone voice, rumbling like thunder behind my ear, caused a tingling sensation to course through me. The sweet scent I had smelled when the Alpha's son had walked in earlier was now so close that I could wrap my hands around it.

The room, which had been silent, erupted into slight gasps and murmurs again, but I focused on the sound of two heartbeats—mine and the rock behind me.

Rock. A real rock.

Because I felt safe in his arms—a stranger's arms—while my Alpha husband was somewhere watching.

"I am fine."

Instead of pulling away, I turned slightly in his arms to look at his face. It was the alpha's son indeed.

Seeing him close, his face was marred with an ugly large scar.

No… not ugly.

I felt the urge to run my fingers over it and ask him what had happened.

His eyes were dark as he stared at me with bloody intent which I really wasn't sure if it was directed to me for trying to block his hit.

"I… I am fine."

I noticed the color of his eyes flickering between red and their normal black. I thought I saw it wrong until it happened three more times before settling into their normal color.

And realization dawned on me.

As a human and a daughter of wolves, I had studied both races.

To have red eyes was an Alpha thing.

We couldn't have two Alphas in a pack, and it became even more impossible between a reigning Alpha father and his son.

Was he cursed? Possessed by dark forces?

Or…

A mistake by the Moon Goddess herself?
