Chapter 3 - The Extra And Fiancée

It's been a week since I possessed Louis's body.

During that time, I've managed to adapt to this world based on Louis's fragmented memories that have naturally started flowing into my mind.

The first memories that came to me were about the people around Louis.

Louis had an older sister and brother.

His older brother was actually a knight belonging to the Imperial Knights.

His sister was a civil servant in the administrative department.

A perfect elite family indeed.

Isn't this the definition of being born with a silver spoon?

But the original owner of this body apparently didn't have a strong will to live.

No passion to do anything.

A bland life without particular likes or interests.

He was just living aimlessly when I possessed his body.

I don't understand it.

I mean, he's handsome and from a good family.

On top of that, he has talent, so why on earth did he lose his motivation?

Well, that's not really important to me now.

"Berno, teach me swordsmanship."

"...Swordsmanship, young master?"

"Yes."

"Young master, finally...!"

Berno was moved when he heard my request to teach me swordsmanship.

As a knight belonging to the family, he was the only knight Louis had treated with familiarity.

He seems genuinely touched that his master, who had shown no motivation for so long, is finally showing interest in swords again.

But I simply thought I should oil up my rusty body that had deteriorated from years of idleness before entering the academy.

I was dragged straight to the training ground by the excited Berno.

But at that time, I had no idea what learning swordsmanship really meant.

----

"E-enough...!"

"What are you saying, young master! You can still do more. This is the last one. Keep it up!"

"AAAAARGH!!"

It feels like my arms are going to be torn off!!

I screamed in pain as I lifted the heavy dumbbells.

But Berno didn't care about my suffering at all.

Ever since I told Berno I wanted to learn swordsmanship, I've been dragged to the training ground every day.

And the result is a continuous series of hard training sessions like this.

I can't believe what I'm going through just because I thoughtlessly said I wanted to learn swordsmanship.

I simply thought of training like in Webtoon.

I thought I'd just swing the sword around.

Reality was different.

To properly wield a sword, physical training was essential, and I needed to build muscle strength.

That's why today, once again, I'm being held captive by Berno and abusing my body to the point of mistreatment.

"One more, the last one!"

"You said it was the last one earlier, you bastard...!!"

I should have just stayed in my room enjoying the air conditioning.

---

Still, it seems the talk about talent wasn't a lie, as my body has improved considerably in just a few days.

As muscles gradually started forming on what was once just a skinny body, I began to look quite impressive.

Finding enjoyment in my gradually changing appearance, I now train my body of my own volition.

Though it's painful, it's surprisingly addictive.

And finally, today is the day I'm supposed to start actually swinging a sword.

With an excited heart, I vigorously opened the door to the training ground.

But for some reason, instead of the knights who usually crowded the place, only a woman with dark gray hair was standing there.

And as if she heard me coming in, the woman carefully turned around and my name flowed from her lips.

"It's been a while, Lord Louis."

"Who...?"

"...You don't remember me?"

The woman frowned slightly at my words.

And as our eyes met, Louis's forgotten memories began to flow in.

"Ah, haha. I was just joking, Viola."

Having miraculously remembered her name, I smiled awkwardly.

Her identity was none other than Viola, Louis's fiancée.

Wait, I had a fiancée??

Because memories were coming in partially, I didn't even know I had a fiancée until now.

But now I see that Louis had someone he was promised to marry.

Wait a minute.

So this Louis bastard had such a beautiful fiancée, yet he still hit on Elena?

'This guy is completely insane.'

The more I dig, the more certain I am that this Louis guy is an absolute idiot.

After changing locations, I looked at Viola elegantly sipping tea across from me.

Her name was Viola Amorin.

The first daughter of Count Amorin.

Viola, the count's daughter, had exceptional magical talent and was also known as a beauty in social circles.

But it seems Louis had feelings close to an inferiority complex toward his fiancée.

Judging by the memories, his feelings toward her weren't very favorable.

"What brings you here today...?"

"I came to see Lord Louis's face after so long. I hope I'm not making you uncomfortable."

"Not at all. I was just surprised because it's been a while. Haha."

I explained with cold sweat, as if making an excuse for her words.

"I heard you're also entering the academy this time, Lord Louis."

I have to go.

I'd rather die than go to the military.

"Aren't you also going to the academy this time, Lady Viola?"

According to Louis's memories, she and I are the same age.

If I'm entering the academy this time, this is also the year she enters the academy.

"That's right."

She nodded slightly, confirming my thoughts.

"Then we might see each other at the academy. Haha."

Unlike me who chose the sword, Viola is walking the path of a mage, so the probability of being in the same class is low.

'Actually, is that fortunate?'

To interfere with the protagonist's harem events, it would be better for me to move directly.

But in the process, I'll naturally get entangled with various characters.

It might be a bit of a trashy thought, but.

It might be easier to move around without a fiancée by my side.

After that, I continued the conversation with her, exchanging simple dialogue.

But as I was at a loss for what to say next, having never had a fiancée before.

Fortunately, after finishing her tea, she carefully rose from her seat.

"I enjoyed today, Lord Louis."

"I'm truly glad you found our conversation enjoyable."

"Then I'll see you at the academy."

With those final words, Viola gracefully boarded the carriage she had arrived in.

And watching her move away in the carriage, I let out a shallow sigh.

"This isn't going to be easy."

The unexpected appearance of a fiancée.

It seems I've gained another concern.
