c3 Sudden Enemy Attack
The ability to maintain the Super 4 Normal State was the mark of true adulthood proof that a Saiyan had stepped onto the path of the strong.
By that standard, the combat power of an adult Saiyan was always measured in the billions at minimum.
Compared to that? Even though Su Ke was already sixteen, he was still nothing more than a fragile cub, not yet qualified to be considered an adult
"I heard that Lord Fifth Prince has already broken into a new stage…"
"Our Saiyan clan is rising higher and higher. Soon, we'll launch a campaign against the warriors of the Fifteenth Universe…"
"Do you think His Majesty now… is stronger than the Grand Priest himself?"
"Hmph! Don't limit your imagination. In my eyes, our king could already fight even Zeno!"
Hearing the patrol team's conversation drift by, Su Ke's lips curled slightly. His fists clenched tightly at his sides.
One day, he swore, he would stand at the summit too an existence like a king!
The very first Saiyan King… was Amosi.
Whether this Amosi was connected to the red-haired Super Saiyan God Yamoshi spoken of in later legends, Su Ke couldn't be sure. Perhaps it was merely the same name.
But one thing was certain King Amosi was unimaginably powerful.
So powerful that the three universes under his control once trembled before his might. Even the Gods of Destruction and their attendant Angels dared not breathe too loudly in his presence.
The chronicles said that Amosi had marched with his armies from Universe 18 all the way into Universe 16, never once tasting defeat.
Could he, in the distant future, have even fought his way to Universe 1… perhaps even dared to challenge Zeno and dream of ruling all existence? No one could say for sure.
What was certain was that countless races had already been annihilated beneath the Saiyan banner. Innocent civilizations were burned away in their invasions. This was an age ruled by the law of the jungle where only the strong held authority.
For over a decade, Su Ke had lived in this ancient, merciless age. Yet he had never once laid eyes on King Amosi himself, the supreme ruler of all Saiyans.
The "Fifth Prince" mentioned by the patrolmen was in fact Amosi's fifth son, one of his many heirs.
For Amosi was a king not only in strength, but in bloodline: he had sired eight daughters and seven sons, a royal family that shook the entire multiverse.
Speaking of which, King Amosi and the Fifth Prince were still untouchable existences for him.
Of course, Su Ke never intended to remain trapped on this cub-raising planet forever.
Within twenty years, he swore he would break through to the Super 4 Normal State and leave here for good.
And besides his desire to grow stronger, there was another reason…
"Stay sharp! Less chatter, more vigilance! Protecting the cubs is your highest priority!"
Su Ke's thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a stern shout.
It was Elder Xing, striding past with his brows knit, scolding the patrol team that had stopped to gossip.
After disciplining them, his expression softened as he turned toward Su Ke. "Heading for the fighting arena, Su Ke? Grandpa Xingchang will accompany you!"
"..."
The corner of Su Ke's mouth twitched, and he forced a polite smile. "Good morning, Grandpa Xingchang."
Here we go again. This is exactly the kind of embarrassing middle-school anime development I feared.
"Su Ke, I heard you've already entered the second Saiyan stage the Super Saiyan 2 form! Excellent!" Elder Xing approached with a wrinkled, chrysanthemum-like smile, patting Su Ke warmly on the shoulder.
"To climb this high in just over a decade… you are the pride and hope of Cub Village 1349!"
Su Ke: Yep, that line hits exactly like "you are the pride of our village."
Expression flat, he replied, "I still have a long way to go. My real goal is breaking through to the third stage, Super Saiyan 3."
After all, every Dragon Ball reader knew Son Gohan had entered Super Saiyan 2 as a teenager during the Cell Games.
"Hahaha! Don't be so modest modesty isn't a Saiyan virtue! You truly are the strongest cub of our generation!" Elder Xing's heavy palm landed again on his shoulder.
The impact nearly sent Su Ke sprawling face-first into the dirt.
"…Grandpa Xingchang, I'm going to have breakfast now!" Su Ke excused himself hurriedly, fleeing toward the hunting grounds.
By this age, every cub was required to hunt for their own food, start their own fires, and roast their own meat another rite of the Saiyan path to adulthood.
After gorging himself, Su Ke made his way to the fighting arena, tail swaying behind him, planting his fists on his hips with anticipation.
"Today's another fine day for bullying the other brats," he muttered with a grin.
But before he could step inside the arena, a mocking voice echoed from high above the sky.
"Well, well… I finally found it. The planet where you stupid little monkeys hide…"
Su Ke tilted his head upward. Against the blazing sunlight he could only make out a faint black silhouette, humanoid in shape, suspended high above.
"Warning! Maximum alert! Intruders detected! All personnel evacuate to shelters immediately! All cubs retreat, this is not a drill!"
The klaxon blared across Cub Star, and chaos swept through the fighting arena.
Instructors and staff shouted urgently, corralling the wide-eyed boys and girls toward the evacuation tunnels. "Stay calm! Don't scatter! Line up and retreat slowly!"
"BOOM!"
An energy blast rained down, engulfing the ground in smoke and flame, cutting off the instructor's words in an instant.
