# Chapter 34: The Last Resistance

Even as Kael's dominion spread across the continent, whispers of defiance persisted. Hidden in the farthest reaches of the wastelands, in valleys shrouded by ash and storm, a coalition of the last unbroken factions had gathered. They were survivors who refused to kneel, warriors and mages who had witnessed Kael's rise yet believed that even a god could be challenged.

Lyra stood beside Kael as he surveyed the horizon from the highest peak of the conquered city. "Kael… they're organizing. Not much, but enough to form a final resistance. It's small, but their determination is… almost palpable. They've consolidated every fragment of hope left in the world."

Kael's crimson eyes narrowed, energy crackling around him. "Hope is a fragile thing, Lyra. And fragile things are easily shattered. Let them come. Their defiance will only accelerate the God of Ruin's ascension. Every strike, every spell, every desperate maneuver will feed the Codex and solidify my dominion."

From the horizon, the last resistance appeared—a ragtag but determined army, clad in mismatched armor, wielding a combination of scavenged weaponry and potent arcane magic. Their leader, a tall, imposing figure with scars marking decades of survival, stepped forward. His eyes, unyielding and burning with determination, locked onto Kael.

"Kael Draven," the leader called out, voice ringing with defiance, "we are the last hope of this world. You may have conquered the ruins, shattered the Alliance, and consumed the power of countless factions. But we will stand! We will resist! And if a god must fall to preserve humanity… then so be it."

Kael's grin widened, crimson aura flaring around him like a storm. "A god falling? There is no god here but the God of Ruin. Your courage… admirable, but ultimately meaningless. I am chaos incarnate, dominion perfected. Your resistance is not a threat—it is nourishment."

The final battle began with a roar, the resistance charging through the wastelands toward the city. Arcane spells streaked through the sky, and warriors advanced with unyielding determination. Kael descended to meet them, shadows coiling around him, debris twisting into lethal forms. Lyra moved beside him, strikes precise, devastating, and perfectly timed.

Every attack from the resistance was countered, absorbed, or turned against them. The Codex glowed violently, amplifying Kael's strength, speed, and destructive capability. The battlefield itself responded to his will—shadows became blades, debris became armor, and every ounce of enemy energy was consumed and redistributed as raw power.

The resistance leader charged Kael directly, wielding a massive, rune-etched blade. Spells surged around him, attempting to overwhelm the God of Ruin. Kael met the assault head-on, his steel pipe colliding with the blade, energy exploding outward, tearing through the battlefield. The clash sent shockwaves that shattered the terrain and sent enemy soldiers flying.

Kael's crimson aura flared brighter than ever, **Apex of Chaos** activating. The Codex merged the power of every absorbed army, faction, and spell into Kael himself, elevating him beyond mortal comprehension. The resistance faltered as reality itself seemed to bend to his will, the battlefield twisting, collapsing, and reshaping around him.

With a decisive, cataclysmic strike, Kael obliterated the resistance leader's attack. Shockwaves of crimson energy cascaded across the army, shattering their cohesion, neutralizing their magic, and leaving only scattered survivors in awe and terror.

Lyra exhaled, her voice trembling. "Kael… it's… over. The last resistance… it's finished."

Kael's grin widened, crimson eyes burning like twin suns. "Over? No… it is complete. Every defiance has been consumed. Every faction, every army, every last shred of resistance… now belongs to the God of Ruin. This world has been reshaped, its chaos harnessed, and its dominion solidified. Nothing remains to challenge me."

As the remnants of the last resistance fled or surrendered, Kael stood atop the ruined battlefield, the Codex pulsating with unparalleled energy. The God of Ruin had faced the final defiance of humanity—and emerged unchallenged, apex, and absolute.

The post-apocalyptic world was now a domain under a single, unstoppable force. Kael Draven's dominion was complete, his power unmatched, and his as

cent as the God of Ruin undeniable.
