Chapter 168Mark's POV
The morning sunlight spilled through the curtains, warm and golden, brushing against my face. I stirred, groggy, my arm instinctively tightening around the softness beside me.
I stirred, my eyelids heavy, only to feel the warmth of a woman beside me.
My eyes shot open.
She was there. Naked and extravagantly Beautiful. Her hair was messy, her lips curved in that lazy smile that had haunted my nights for years. Her breath touched my neck like a whisper of heaven.
My chest squeezed tight. My voice trembled when I breathed her name. "Lily…"
She hummed softly, stretching like a cat, and turned toward me. "Mark… baby," she murmured, her eyes half-open, her voice soft and sleepy. "Don't go to work today."
I blinked, dazed. "What?"
She grinned, sliding up to lie across my chest, her body pressing against mine. "Stay," she whispered, kissing my collarbone. "Just stay with me today. Forget work. Forget leaving the house today."
