"If you wish to survive, try not to stray too far," Jack told Evangeline and walked back. Walking over to where he'd dropped his backpack—close to the entrance of the bathroom—and picking it up to pull out a pair of chef's knives with their handles wrapped in rags for a decent grip, and a tactical tail switch flashlight.

Jack didn't have much time to prepare all he might be needing, but this much was already a boon if you considered the fact that someone had cleared this same dungeon in his past life with zero preparations or knowledge of what laid ahead.

He walked back to Evangeline who was now slipping into her clothes, but paused when she saw Jack approaching her with a knife. She flinched as he pointed the knife at her, "Three rules: Try not to stab yourself, try not to stab me, and… survive." Jack said and gestured for her to take the knife from him.

Jack needed only one knife, and had only brought an extra with him for backup. His strategy to clear the D-Rank Undead Labyrinth dungeon required the use of his two hands which should occupy only a flashlight and a blade.

He slung the now empty backpack onto shoulders, and approached the bathroom door, pressing his ears against it to listen for any signs of immediate danger on the other side.

"W—wait, aren't you going to put anything… on?" Evangeline trailed off as her gaze shifted from Jack's ridiculous dress up and landed on his exposed slurped lower member.

Jack was stark naked, except for his socks which he still left on due to the cold floor, and the backpack slung over his shoulders for picking up loots along the way. That was all Jack needed on him to clear the dungeon.

He had taken off his clothes while intimate with Evangeline, and found no reason to put them back on now as he'd still have to remove them after defeating the boss, before he crossed over to the new beginning.

No one knew this, but as a one-time regressor, Jack had the knowledge that crossing over naked would automatically equip the player with a beginner's outfit with decent defense and a bonus attribute, unlike clothes worn from Earth.

It wasn't much, but it was something.

"It'll be beneficial for the both of us if you were to take yours off too," Jack replied as he turned to stare at her. But Evangeline misunderstood his words for something else and crossed her hands over her chest, safeguarding her chastity.

"But since you have them on already, you can take them off later," Jack said and turned back his attention to the door.

"W—What are you talking about? T—That was supposed to be a one-time thing—" Evangeline was saying in her defence, when Jack no longer paying attention to her quickly pulled the door open, his flashlight flickering on to bath the face of a zombie that had been standing right before the door with its light, then flickering off the next moment and Jack had disappeared from the spot.

The zombie girl growled in unbearable hunger and was just about to snap forward, when Jack's hands flashed across her.

Three stabs.

He plunged the knife into her guts, pulling out the next moment and switching to a reverse grip to stab into the side of her neck, then at the soft spot to the side of her skull—behind her eyes.

Damage numbers floated above the undead's head.

Evangeline stared in horror as Jack ended a life so swiftly with brutal efficiency.

It was indeed dark, but she had seen the inhumane face of the person—or thing—standing behind the door for the split second Jack had on the flashlight, and the dark silhouette of Jack stabbing it.

It finally dawned on her that this wasn't the strangest blackout—or eclipse. From the disappearance of everyone in school to the holographic interface with Jack, and now a what—a zombie?

Evangeline didn't know what was happening, but knew it wasn't the right time to be asking questions as they could end up dead the next moment.

But the one thing she did know was that Jack wasn't as clueless as she was. He seemed to have anticipated and predicted everything that was happening at that moment. And at that moment she understood that if she wanted to survive long enough to see the light of the day once more, then Jack was her only way out.

Her grip tightened around the hilt of the knife Jack had handed her, and she hastily ran forward to meet Jack's silhouette in the dark now crouching over the dead body.

"No luck," Jack mumbled unsurprisingly, as no loot dropped from the undead.

He flashed his torch at one end of the hallway to see a few straggling zombies, who were instantly alerted by the light and whipped around in the direction it had come from, but it was gone.

The light came again the next minute, but this time it was right before the first zombie who was momentarily blinded by the light and had its shriek cut short the next moment.

Jack had rushed forward plunging his knife into its throat, swiftly pulling out to plunge the blade once more into the under jaw of the first zombie.

The rest knew he was somewhere around there now and quickly rushed forward to the spot he was last seen, but Jack had vanished, pressing himself against the wall to hide in its shadows, he didn't need to flash the torch again before he pushed forward to plunge the blade into the back skull of one that had its back to him.

They were four of them Jack had spotted. He had taken out two now, and two was left to go.

One was closer than the other from their moving dark silhouette, so Jack naturally chose to take out the closer one, arriving before it with his silent footsteps—thanks to his socks—but had just raised his hand to plunge the blade into the side of the zombie, when Evangeline voice suddenly broke the silence when she called out his name from the bathroom entrance in fear.

The other zombie further away from Jack quickly dashed in her direction snarling hungrily. Evangeline could definitely hear the sound that sent chills down her spine, but she couldn't see much in the darkness and was too scared to run back inside the bathroom which was why she had called his name in the first place.

Jack knew if he proceeded with stabbing the zombie already before him, that it would be too late to save Evangeline. And so the quickly made the last minute decision to change the trajectory of his knife to miss the zombie and spun around, then flicked the blade at the unprotected back of the charging silhouette, and without waiting around to know if he'd hit the mark—

—He did. Jack spun around once more to meet the snapping jaw of the zombie before him with his fist.

He threw an uppercut at the zombie which knocked it back a step.

He threw a right hook at it before it had the chance to recover its footing—

Then a left hook which kept it stumbling back.

He quickly ran forward to wrap his arm around its shoulder, and the other arm around its crotch area, and with every ounce of strength in him, he swept the zombie off its feet, lifting it up and flipped it to smash its head into the floor.

While Evangeline was standing in the way of the zombie hurtling at her when Jack had thrown his knife at it, hitting its spine, had her knife up in an awkward grip when the zombie tripped from Jack's attack which didn't kill it, and fell with its head meeting Evangeline's knife.
