Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Transmigration

"Ah... Sister~ No~" On the narrow wooden plank bed, Su Ming cried out and suddenly sat upright. Unprepared, he slammed his head into the bed frame with a loud "thud."

"Shit..." Clutching his aching head, Su Ming groggily opened his eyes. "Where is this?" He glanced around, finding his surroundings to be extremely familiar.

The room was narrow and cramped, containing a small wooden plank bed, a stool, and a small desk with a few books scattered on it. Some clothes were strewn messily on the bed. The sunlight streaming in from outside was strangely dazzling.

Su Ming shook his head hard, finally recovering from the intense pain. The red haze before his eyes gradually faded, replaced by a patch of golden sunlight on the floor, shimmering with an unusual brilliance.

"This is... home? No, that's not right... How could this be..." Su Ming's eyes widened. His back was still soaked. He vaguely remembered that the last thing he saw before passing out was his sister lying on the ground.

How could I suddenly be back home? Am I dreaming?

He stumbled to the bathroom and splashed a handful of water on his face. The icy water jolted him fully awake. "No, that wasn't a dream. It definitely wasn't," he thought, pulling out his phone. The screen displayed 9:23 AM, Sep 5, 2025...

This was the day his sister, Su Qingge, was supposed to fly back. He remembered it clearly because he had woken up late and failed to pick her up on time, leaving her to wait in the terminal for an hour.

When Su Ming finally rushed to the airport, he saw her lovely figure waving. There wasn't a hint of complaint in her; she just gently took his hand and chattered on about trivial things.

Su Ming replied distractedly, letting his sister lead him by the hand across the street. But who could have known that just as they were about to reach the other side, a swerving truck came hurtling toward them. In that split second, Su Qingge shoved Su Ming with all her might, sending him flying several meters away.

By the time Su Ming scrambled to his feet, confused and angry, he was met with the piercing screech of brakes, the horrified screams of the crowd, and the sight of a lovely figure in red sent flying by the truck's impact.

"No, no, Sister..." Su Ming rushed over and cradled the faintly breathing girl in his arms. He had never felt such terror. The loneliness of losing his last living relative was driving him mad. He clung to his sister, refusing to let go, as if his grip alone could keep her from leaving.

But it was no use. The beauty in his arms opened her mouth, seemingly trying to say something, but no words came out. Instead, she tremblingly raised her blood-stained hands to caress his cheek.

"No..." Su Ming roared, watching in horror as the life slowly drained from his sister. In that instant, rage eclipsed his grief.

He saw the male driver stumble out of the truck, drunk and unsteady on his feet, clinging to the door for support. Su Ming, filled with rage, strode over, grabbed him by the collar, and threw a punch, then another, and another...

The drunk driver shrieked in pain, trying in terror to escape, but the enraged Su Ming pinned him to the ground. Using nothing but his bare fists, he rained down blow after blow, until the man stopped breathing...

Surrounded by a circle of riot police with batons and shields, and several armed officers, Su Ming showed no reaction. He simply knelt beside his sister, holding her still-warm hand, and wept in silence.

"Sister~ Please, don't do this... okay? I'm begging you, wake up and look at me, please?" He knelt helplessly, gazing at her beautiful form lying in a pool of blood. The extreme anguish and grief, combined with the violent emotional rollercoaster, caused his vision to slowly blacken until he passed out. The last image he saw was of his sister, Su Qingge, lying beside him...

The reason Su Ming remembered everything so clearly was that he had just experienced it the day before. Or, to be more precise, he had experienced it in a previous parallel world.

The cold water shocked him back to full awareness. He wasn't dreaming. Everything that had happened was real, including his sister's accident. The only thing that was off was the time. He remembered leaving the house at 10:47 AM the previous day; now, it was more than an hour earlier.

"So... I've transmigrated? To a parallel world?" Su Ming stared at the time on the screen in disbelief, which was quickly followed by a wave of ecstatic excitement.

He took a few deep breaths and, with a trembling hand, unlocked his phone. He went to his contacts, where the very first name was his sister, Su Qingge. He tapped her name and hit dial. As he listened to the ringing tone, Su Ming's heart pounded in his chest.

"Please pick up, please pick up..." Su Ming clenched his fists. A moment later, the call connected. "Hello, Su Ming?" his sister's clear, lovely voice came through the phone.

Hearing that familiar voice, Su Ming nearly broke down in tears, his shoulders trembling. There was a long silence on the line before Su Qingge, sensing something was wrong, asked, "What's wrong? Is something the matter? I just got off the plane, do you want me to come straight home?"

"No... don't!" Su Ming shouted anxiously into the phone. Even though the timing was different, he couldn't risk letting his sister take any chances. He had already lost her once, he couldn't bear to lose her a second time.

Su Qingge was taken aback by the strange tone in her brother's voice and was about to ask, but Su Ming cut her off. "Sister, stay inside the airport terminal! Don't come out! Wait for me to pick you up. Remember, whatever you do, do not come out!" On the other end, Su Qingge was completely bewildered, unable to make sense of his words. However, hearing the urgency in his voice, she readily agreed.

Hanging up the phone, Su Ming let out a long sigh, a mix of relief and excitement. He had regrets from his previous life, but thankfully, heaven had given him a chance to make things right. This time, I won't lose my sister again, he vowed silently.

After quickly tidying up, Su Ming left his apartment. He walked down the stairs of the old-fashioned residential building, got his bearings, and hurried toward the entrance of the complex.

Meanwhile, at the E District Airport in F City, Su Qingge, having just landed, hung up her phone. She pursed her lips, lost in thought. A faint, gentle smile touched her otherwise cool features. The beautiful young woman shook her head slightly and began walking toward the main terminal.

All eyes were fixed on the young woman. She wore a fiery red dress that was as bold as it was beautiful. Her long, silky hair cascaded over her shoulders, framing an exquisite face and rosy lips. Every feature highlighted her captivating beauty.

Yet, no one dared to approach and strike up a conversation. Su Qinge's expression was too cold and aloof, giving off an unapproachable aura that kept everyone at a distance...
