Chapter 0: The Cloak
"Hey Raizen, wanna hang out with us?"
Raizen shook his head. "Uh, guys, I can't. My girlfriend might be waiting for me."
"Oh, come on, Raizen! You don't have to flex that you have a girlfriend!" one of his friends groaned.
"Yeah, boss! Don't rub it in for us single men!" another added.
Raizen laughed. "I'm not flexing on you guys. Anyway, I'll see you tomorrow!" He waved and started walking off. "And Mark—don't forget my math notebook tomorrow!"
"Yeah, yeah, I'll give it back!" Mark called after him.

"Yo, Gabriel," another voice chimed in.
Gabriel turned. "Yeah?"
"You wanna join us for a party tonight?"
Gabriel hesitated. "Mm… nah. If Raizen didn't go, I'll probably skip it too."
"Oh, come on! You're such a simp for the boss," the boy teased.
"Dude, stop making it sound gay, you fatty!" Gabriel shot back, annoyed.
"Ugh, fine! If you change your mind, just come to Leonard's house!" the boy said, throwing up his hands.
"Yeah, yeah, just go already," Gabriel muttered.
Left alone, Gabriel let out a sigh. His eyes caught something strange lying on the ground nearby.
"Hm? What's this… a cloak?" He crouched down, picking it up. The fabric shimmered faintly, almost alive under the moonlight. "Weird… but it looks cool. Guess I'll try it on—"
The moment he wrapped the cloak around his shoulders, his body pulsed with light.
And then—
Gabriel vanished without a trace.
