Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Awake and Alert

Have you ever woken up to the sound of waves right beside either one of your eardrums? Well, that's exactly what happened to me. You see, I somehow ended up right beside the greenish-bluish amazingly gorgeous sea. The thing is: I don't recall coming here before waking up from whatever I just woke up from! Read and find out what happens!

...

The sound of a lone current kept making noises over and over again. For Myra, the sounds were so familiar and soothing. She didn't know what to make of it though. Leaning on her side, when suddenly something wet splashed onto her pale face. "Ahh!," screamed Myra while startled.

As the girl near the sea sat upwards, she realized water must've splashed on her as she took in the scenery before her. There was a beautiful sunset, silhouettes of birds, and a ocean so beautiful leaving her mentally shocked. But the question was, where was she?

She did not remember how she got her, nor where she was previous to waking up here on the sand. Myra did not live near the ocean or beach, so she never really visited. Of course, this ocean seems a teeny tiny bit familiar to her because she has visited her at least once prior to this moment.

Nothing was adding up. Nothing was making sense. Confused and in a daze, she pinched her left cheek to check if she was dreaming. But to her surprise, she was wide and awake, not in any sort of dream. The clothes Myra was wearing was her classic white crop top and red plaid pajama pants.

Since she has never been stranded out in the ocean like this before, she didn't know what to do. Her parents had never taught her how to find her way back home. They never really cared about what she did. So what if they provided her with clothes and pocket-money? All Myra wanted was some affection from them, that's all she asked for. But no, life is just not fair.

She checked her pants pocket for her cellphone, panicking, as she didn't know her way back home. Once she got a hold of it, she tried to dial her parents phone numbers, but it failed multiple times. There was no Wi-Fi or signal out here and man it was freezing cold!

Myra's POV

That's it, I'll just ask a stranger for help then. Sand filled my bare toes as I looked down in a weird face. I didn't know how I felt about sand dirtying my clean feet, but that's the least important thing to worry about now. I had to make sure I'd get home safe. How in the world did I even get stranded out here?

The panic and anxiety from before, though unnecessary now that I think about it (because there's people out here as well), was no longer in my chest. As I walked towards one of the people in the distance a second after pushing myself up and off the rocky ground, I tripped and fell face flat into the floor. Aurghhhuhghh. Could this day get any worse?
