chapter 1

The mysterious grandpa

In a village of subawanga a village between two valley's lived an aged man, who was famously known by the name grandpa, people believed he was a mysterious man because he does not associate with people and lived alone at the outskirts of the village and walks by leapingn no family or relatives. There this family the igwo's who were known to be very affluent family in subawanga village it is said that grandpa has a bitter rivalry with the igwo's since back decades though I haven't got the real story of their rivalry.

On Saturday morning I decided to visit my grandma on my dad's side as my grandpa when I was young my dad told me that he was taken by angels up there to the sky.On weekends that was what I usually do,just visiting my grandma to go and help her in the shamba and at her house with some house chores. When I was on my way after waving goodbye to my parents in the middle of the road I met this grandpa,as a child I was raised with right etiqutte and morals as whenever you see a person older than you, show some respect by greeting them.

So I greeted him and he was carrying some stuffs like herbal medicine they are kinder like some leaves and also he was carrying some vegetables in a basket,so after greetings he said to me,"my child can you help me in carrying these stuffs to my house because I feel exhausted."Though I was warned not to be in the company of strangers ,though he was not a stranger but he was feared by people in the village as the rumours said that he was a juju.

First I was reluctant to help him because I was warned by parents about him but decided to help him because he looked tired like he has been walking from a long distance and he assured me not to be afraid,so we walked together,on the way I started asking him questions.I asked him whether he has relatives? He looked at me in a weired manner and did not respond for some seconds, so I thought I irritated him and I decided to keep quiet. But to my surprise he responded and said,"yes he has".

This urged me to ask more questions, and I asked him "where are they".As usual he kept quiet before responding that they live in another village. Then I asked him "why don't you associate yourself with other members of the village in any matters?".He didn't answer me this time until we reached at his house which was some distance from the village
