Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: No Winner

Notting Academy, Seven Dorm.

The group of work-study students held their breath, their eyes fixed on the two individuals in a standoff: one was Wang Sheng, powerful after his Spirit possession, and the other was Wang Li, who, despite having only the Blue Silver Grass Spirit, possessed an unyielding will.

Because of Wang Li's chuunibyou-like remarks and deliberate guidance, this battle had been imbued with a sacred aura. Which youth isn't a bit chuunibyou? And they all possessed Spirit Master talent, yearning for the World of Spirit Masters.

At this moment, flames seemed to burn in Wang Sheng's tiger-like eyes as he roared at Wang Li:

"This time, I won't be careless again."

After speaking, he lunged forward like a tiger, rushing towards Wang Li with full momentum and terrifying ferocity.

Wang Li's mind was taut; he couldn't be easily defeated. He still needed to continuously gain experience during the battle. Unfortunately, the Blue Silver Grass without a spirit ring offered almost no improvement to his strength, so he could only resist with his physical body.

Facing Wang Sheng's incoming punch, Wang Li assumed a stance, extending both hands. One hand gripped Wang Sheng's wrist, and the other gripped Wang Sheng's arm, attempting to neutralize the force of the punch.

But very quickly, Wang Li's expression changed slightly; he couldn't budge it. Wang Sheng had clearly used his full strength.

Wang Sheng grinned at the sight; he no longer held back in the slightest. The idea of determining the boss by victory or defeat had been cast aside. Now, he only wanted to engage in a proper Spirit Master duel.

Wang Li retreated repeatedly. Suddenly, he directly spun around, his back to Wang Sheng, intending to use Wang Sheng's forward momentum to execute an over-the-shoulder throw.

Wang Sheng had some combat experience, or rather, experience being beaten, but he had little understanding of combat techniques.

And so, Wang Li directly used Wang Sheng's momentum to lift Wang Sheng into the air, his feet leaving the ground, and most of his strength dissipated.

Wang Sheng was still dazed, having already been sent flying, but he was also experienced and, with a burst of ferocity, simultaneously grabbed Wang Li with the arm that Wang Li had held.

Wang Li hadn't expected Wang Sheng to react so quickly. Unable to break free from Wang Sheng's grasp, he directly gave up resisting and flew out with Wang Sheng, using Wang Sheng as a cushion.

Bang!

The two crashed heavily to the ground, once again wrestling, rolling around, exchanging punches. A proper Spirit Master would certainly not fight like this; it was more like street thugs brawling.

Wang Li was aching all over from Wang Sheng's blows, but he gritted his teeth and endured, while a rain of fists also landed on Wang Sheng's body.

Wang Li's strength was inferior to Wang Sheng's, but fighting in this muddy pit was actually advantageous for Wang Li; neither could easily get out alone.

Not long after, another person walked into the dorm.

As soon as Tang San entered the dorm, he saw Wang Sheng and Wang Li wrestling together.

Their techniques could only be described as unsightly; in his eyes, it was merely a pathetic chicken fight.

With Tang San's arrival, Wang Sheng and Wang Li tacitly stopped fighting and separated.

Wang Li was panting heavily. Although his face was bruised and swollen, the twenty-one experience points he gained from the recent battle made him laugh loudly:

"Wang Sheng, you are truly a formidable opponent."

Wang Sheng was a bit dejected. His Spirit was better, his spirit power higher, and his strength greater, yet he had been pushed to this point by Wang Li. He had to admit:

"Wang Li, your tenacity truly surprised me. This time it's a draw; we'll fight again next time."

Tang San's forehead was lined with black. In his eyes, these two 'chickens' seemed to admire each other.

As for Wang Li, upon hearing this, he readily agreed:

"Next time."

Wang Sheng grinned, but the grin made him wince in pain again. He then turned to Tang San, saying with a hint of surprise:

"There are quite a few new people this year. Hey, introduce yourself first."

Tang San couldn't quite comprehend the current situation. The two who had just been rolling around on the ground were now talking and laughing like friends.

Hearing this, he coldly said:

"My name isn't 'Hey.' I am Tang San, a work-study student from Saint Spirit Village."

Wang Sheng struggled to his feet. Though bruised and battered, he held his head high and proudly declared:

"My name is Wang Sheng. I am currently the boss here. Just now, I and another newcomer, Wang Li, were having a Spirit Master duel with the position of boss as the stake. For a time, it was hard to tell who would win."

"Now that you've arrived, I'll give you two choices: either acknowledge me as the boss, or defeat me and take the position of boss from me. These are the rules here, and everyone must abide by them."

Tang San frowned, thinking to himself, this Wang Sheng inexplicably wants to bully him, it's simply detestable...

Having observed the previous fight between the two, Tang San already had some understanding of Wang Sheng's strength. Whether or not he used Hidden Weapons, Wang Sheng was someone he could easily defeat.

Then he would teach him a lesson!

Putting down everything he held, Tang San coldly said:

"Come on!"

Wang Sheng looked at the dark and skinny Tang San, who was a head shorter than Wang Li and two heads shorter than himself. He thought, even if I'm not in peak condition, dealing with this kid will definitely be more than enough.

So he assumed a stance and loudly declared:

"Wang Sheng, Spirit War Tiger, Ninth-level Spirit Scholar."

Tang San paused. He wasn't accustomed to revealing his strength, but this seemed to be some kind of rule, so he could only speak with a cold face:

"Tang San, Spirit Blue Silver Grass, Tenth-level Spirit Scholar."

Upon hearing this, Wang Sheng couldn't help but glance at Wang Li. He was very surprised to see another Blue Silver Grass, and a Tenth-level Spirit Scholar at that. What was going on?

How could the talent of Blue Silver Grass Spirits be more outrageous than the last now!

However, since he had already spoken to this extent, he had to finish this fight, even if it meant biting the bullet. He roared like a tiger and lunged forward.

Tang San was fully prepared to teach Wang Sheng a lesson...

At this moment, Wang Li sat on a bed, unable to bear watching Wang Sheng charge forward to his doom. Even a peak-condition Wang Sheng was no match for Tang San. A Wang Sheng covered in injuries now would only end up getting beaten for nothing; there would be no other outcome.

Wang Sheng was covered in injuries, and Wang Li had sustained even more injuries than Wang Sheng. However, the initial sharp pain in his body had significantly eased, replaced by a cool sensation.

Wang Li sighed with emotion. Although the second-grade Blue Silver Grass didn't significantly boost his strength, it recovered quite quickly after injuries. This was the vitality characteristic at work, and the toughness passive should also be effective. My physique will improve after recovery, which is also a way to become stronger. Additionally, physique is related to the spirit ring age limit that can be absorbed...
