17 years later...
A lot had happened since that day, take for instance the British had established thier own rule through the use of indirect means in the pretence of helping them in trades and financial means, it's 1899 and our main character, Lisa is all grown up now in a few days she's about to turn 18. Nobody really discovered what facilitated the church to wipe out a whole witches race like that and it was done heartlessly too, the aftermath of the great massacre was a scene to behold, dead bodies piled up ;Women and Children alike all killed in a blip. Some indigenes of the village did escape, scattering around the Egyptian empire, it took them several months to regroup and rebuild thier village on a low-key in another location, in a less suspicious place and what place was less suspicious than a heavily populated area it's self, this is the city of Memphis, historically known as the core capital of Egypt, that was where the witches set into hiding, these people were once free folk but due to the influence of external forces they have been bound to the shadows away from the public eye... away from the executions.
The surviving witches ran a trading centre in the heart of the city, luckily for them they went on to become super successful and super rich, using this money and newly acquired influence with the help of Allies an underground city was built, housing thier growing population; here a set of rules were established, these rules helped them to live in peaceful coexistence and also aided in the smooth running of the city one of these laws included that once a blooming witch reaches the ripe age of 18 , they are made to go up to the surface and momentarily join in running the trade centre and that is only if they aced the basics test and of course Lisa aced it easy peasy. It was now time to climb to the surface now...
'Don't forget to cloack the color of your eyes' said Aurora, her sister she had grown into a fine woman, black haired beautiful, tall and extremely powerful..she was appointed mayor of the city recently and she took a liking to that job but there was one disadvantage; she was not needed on the surface... like ever.
'I know sister, i will always remember that surface people aren't to be trusted i know .. look i am eighteen now there's no need to fret, i will perform well enough to climb the ranks like you did' replied Lisa smiling, her long black hair, cascading in the gloom lights of the city.
'I know i am just hysterical, but please look after yourself ' Aurora said with a look of concern
'No you aren't hysterical, i know you are looking out for me, i will heed your words sister you can count on it' she said as she took her hands into hers, they both tightened thier grips, tears welling up in thier eyes.
'Now come on girls why are you girls acting as though you wouldn't see each other again, it's just a five hours affair, nothing serious but the surface' said a masculine voice, it was mush Aurora's personal assistant, he was tall, red haired and wore farmer's robes and when he was asked why, he said that he had no particular reason..
'Mush, a lot could go wrong in one hour talk less of five hours' said Aurora
'Come Lisa, they are waiting' he said as he left the room, Lisa hugged her sister tightly
'Bye, Aurora see you soon' and she galloped out of the room, towards a fresh new start on the surface; her perspective of the world is about ti change like no other.
On the surface it was a bustling revelation, the density... The many new faces she had never seen before, the danger and the thrill of being there, there were three of them who were just going up here for the first time in thier memory. In the far end of the aile of the market place was a man, he was rolling on the floor as he was being whipped by men who wore the same uniform
'Thief, you deserve to die' Lisa could hear them say, the market place was compromised of shops , they were stacked in a single file at both sides of the road and a large opening for passage was left in the middle, here the most suspicious things happened. Stealing, harassment, death you name it Lisa was immediately introduced to ths harshness of the surface world but as harsh and as barbaric as it was she could acknowledge that it was a beautiful scene, the sands , the radiance of the sun, the Fresh air..all these made her think the surface was worth it afterall.
The newbies were assigned to guard and advertisement duty, they were shown ths ropes by other seniors and in no time they got the hang of it and followed suit
Get your trading items here, get your adventure items here...' Lisa yelled as she made elegant gestures directing them to the centre, this attracted a lot of attention because her beauty was absolute, her jet black hair flowing in the humid wind , her long dress moving and swaying along with her and her dark eyes which replaced the original colour of her eyes was glooming in the hot sun. This attracted a lot of attention, Positive and Negative, negative taking the lead as other shop owners were pissed as her presence was disrupting business and so the silent plottings began.
The next day, Lisa was yet again assigned to advert duty as her performance the previous brought in an influx of customers to the shop, and she did her gesturing she heard a whistle coming from behind her, she momentarily stopped what she was doing and turned to find who it was and was met with a disgusting sight, it was a fat balding old man who had saliva trailing off his lips
'Come damsel why don't you come have fun with me..i pay quite well' he said as he was drawing closer to her, Lisa with absolute disgust on her face quickly gave him a hot resounding slap that attracted the attention of passers-bys, the man was utterly humiliated, with his cheeks radiating heat as he slumped on the floor
'You useless whore, you will pay for this watch how i will take you down' he said as he stood up and scurried off. Everyone around laughed including her, she felt seen and famous but this was her biggest mistake because this act costed her all she ever knew, he was a slave trader and it just happened to be the season of strong slave trade.
