The boy [This reality we refer to is the definition of reality. Is it what we perceive as real or is it what's really happening or maybe those definitions are wrong]
The boy's voice echoed through the room when he spoke. Kekkan approached him until he spoke in words he didn't quite understand. "Better keep your brother safe" he gave a gentle smile.
What.
The boy [Bro, I love the room you have here. It's completely different from the other world. It reminds me of my room as a child oh wait I am a child]
He laughs
The room he was referring to was an old bright colourful room modelled after a child's bedroom. The bed was made of a soft and comfortable wood. The bed covers had a space theme with stars and planets. The walls were bright blue made from patched pieces of paper. And on them a childlike drawing of a kid looking over the hill into a beautiful sunset. There was a bright red house in the distance. But the bottom half had all been scribbled out
kekkan shot his body forward towards the child
Kekkan [What did you say about my brother]
The Boy [Huh what are you talking about]
Holding back his anger kekkan asked him
Kekkan [What is your name]
The Boy [Ohh name that would be hmm nevermind just call me the child] he then stuck out his tongue and let out a giggle
Kekkan was fed up with this ; he had no time for needless squandering. But just as kekkan was about to leave the ladder faded out of existence and the lights shot out before returning this time in a blood red colour.
The Child [You idiot, we still need to play] he said in an uplifting tone. Kekkan ignored him and placed his hands on the wall looking around to see if the exit would open back up again.
The Child [Idiot idiot idiot]
kekkan felt a piece of shrivelled up paper hit the back of his neck.
The Child [What are you stupid your looking for a way back to reality this is your reality now who cares about going back to another one focus on here and now you dummy]
The Child sighed
The Child [I guess this is the only way you will listen. If you go back now your brother will die]
Without hesitation Kekkan threw his head around and looked at the boy.
The Child [About time you made eye contact geez]
Kekkan [Shut up and explain yourself]
The Child let out a smile
The Child [if you can catch me maybe i will]
The child puts both hands on his ears and sticks out his tongue.
The child then begins glitching his entire body one limb at a time first his arms then his legs before finally his head disappears from reality.
A note is left where he used to reside.
Your no fun lets play come find me
The note comes with a doodled picture of. A man with long flowing hair standing in a field full of blades stabbing into his feet. On the very bottom it's signed. F
Kekkan thinks to himself what a bother storming the place with anger he tears apart the entire place. Only to find a note under a box he had lifted up in extremely poor writing .
Sorry I cannot be here now, well im not really you stink but il tell you about him flip to the other side.
Kekkan flips to the other side to find more writing.
Okie dokie so in order to save your brother you must complete the following. Find this note. Venture through the realm that binds you down. Upon completion you need to find a way to break through the neverending woods. KILL ALL OF THOSE THINGS. Place the key to rewrite reality. must follow the light. Then save him. In case I left anything out on your own. Ps you only have a little before they raid so hurry up fatso
Great instructions very clear
Kekkan throws the note onto the ground
He looks around the room, how would I know what the realm that binds you means. What if this realm I'm in now is that very realm while he is looking around he notices scribbled writing on the ceiling. The note isn't just a note
Upon this discovery kekkan picks back up the note. "Could the note possibly alter the realm but how" he inspected the note more looking for something to stray him in the right direction.
Damn it, I have to do this. An ideal man can solve any problem if i cant do that can i really be considered whole."
He studied the note.
Up and down
Up and down
Up and down
Until he noticed something he previously didn't understand. But on further thinking he found a solution. The words place the key to rewrite reality" what if it's not merely referring to a key in the literal sense but perhaps the key is the note. And I must follow the light that is the red light that flickered when reality changed. If I follow that it leads to an empty wall. It's not a wall, it's a gateway. Kekkan followed the red light to the wall and stuck the note to it.
But that wall wasn't opening. Every wall vibrated a liquid texture covering all of them. It was just like the figure's face from earlier when Kekkan tried to punch him. But he didn't get the time to think about it when the walls started getting closer to him he backed into the wall he was lost for what to do completely hopeless. His legs shivered, sweat poured from his head. I did something wrong. No it's not my fault it was rigged from the start..
It's not my fault
It's not my fault
It's not my fault"
There's nothing I could do
There's nothing I could do
He stood up straight no i must not face death with fear but with pride
When the walls closed into him they halted. And the wall behind him opened up. It was a tunnel, the one of a rotary kiln.
Out of one hell into another
He remembered the warning he was hesitant but this is what had to be done to save his brother.
As soon as he stepped foot in the tunnel reality flickered again. And he found himself in the inside of the rotary klin.
The entire place had an eerie feeling to it; everything was dark. Kekkan stood amongst thousands of chains that covered the entire place. The floor submerged in chains that hoisted into the floor. All of them connected together.
More chains hung from the ceiling; they only went about halfway down. They created thousands of circular passageways. They engulfed the walls. It was manmade horror beyond our comprehension. The further you went the more tighter and claustrophobic the passages got.
It contained a circular structure it was round like a tunnel
Kekkan carefully walks forward hoping a chain doesn't pull him down.
He continues down the tunnel and occasionally a Chain will flicker or slightly swing. He had to avoid out of the way of deadly chains from the roof.
Every step he took felt suffocating as the environment shrunk around him and chains began gaining a life of their own. They twitched and clanked. He felt the entire place was alive.
He noticed the circular tunnels not shrink but grow around him expanding giving him more space. "Did i reach the exit" but as soon as he reached the end he found himself in a place he recognised.
He was back at the beginning.
Once the realisation kicked in, Kekkan fell to his knees. Feeling the metal of the chains leave a bruise on his knee. i didnt escape this hell ive only entered through the gate. He sank his head down and his expression was filled with fleeting hope. But that was before now it was crushed.
While he was sulking he noticed the chains on the ground unjoin together. Click with this he shot back up to his feet and began running down the endless tunnel. This time it got even tighter he had to jump to the ground and crawl through at a certain point.
As he crawled through he had to begin pushing himself forward. Using his arms as a tool to persevere. Each time he lifted his arms to hoist himself forward they collided with the cold metal chains.
It wasn't just about making it to the end, it was a trial of tenacity.
He continued forward, enduring the pain. It still continued to shrink but he had to see this through. "I'll prove I'm good enough.
He saw no end in sight. It was a perpetual loop of torment.
The chains began cracking apart from each other. Breaking away, becoming an individual separating from the colony.
With that they locked on to kekkan. They begin to penetrate his skin. First they targeted his legs so he would be stuck in place. But despite this kekkan was still powering forward. However this became futile when the chains pierced Kekkan's arms. One at a time. Hundreds of chains. Until he was completely trapped.
Kekkan then heard an overpowering laugh. One that sounded to be of a witch, a demon. Or perhaps something sinister. Overwhelming malice could be felt from it. The laugh got closer and closer until.
Blank
Kekkan had lost his consensus. He awoke to find himself back again; this really was a loop. But wait something was different this time.the once freezing silver chains had now been Rusted and bronze. Even though the air had morphed it was still eerie but in a completely different way that matched with the new surroundings.
This means there's a way out. Now how did I get here? The last thing I remember was. The horrifying voice scorched his ears. "That thing that kills me is why I'm here. "But then how am I alive
Oh
A rush of pain flows through the back of his neck. He screams in pain and places his hand on his neck. But he feels nothing, no blood, no mark, it's a blank slate. Despite there not being any physical wound he felt the pain presumably the fatal blow that ended his life was struck.
Kekkan brushed past all the chains with haste. It doesn't matter what happens if I die , won't I just return back here anyways. But then again I don't want to feel the pain. I'm a coward. There isn't a point to push forward. I know that thing will come to kill me so it's better if I wait here for her and return the favour. Kekkan plots himself against the ground the chains toss but he doesn't care he has a job to do. This is a mission of self preservation.
He feels a tap on the side of his shoulder. He turns only to be met with "BOO" he jumps back a tiny bit. It was the child
The Child [I guess you found me at last. Well I guess my hiding spot wasn't very good]
Kekkan is surprised to see the child but he ignores him and focuses on the task at hand. "No time for distractions"
The child frowns at him
Kekkan stares dead straight ahead awaiting his vengeance.
The Child [Kekky ]
The child gives kekkan a couple of light punches on the side. Kekkan endures this not breaking line of sight.
The Child [You will never be perfect you pathetic excuse for a being]
This line awoke something in kekkan causing him to avert his eyes.
Kekkan [You're wrong dont ever say that again your just a stupid kid who doesn't know shit about me]
The Child [I know more about you then you yourself idiot]
the child sticks out his tongue as per usual.
The Child [You will fail over and over again if you insist on staying back. You aren't strong enough to push forward your week your a coward]
Kekkan [Shut up]
The Child [Pathetic little kekky is afraid to overcome anything. Why is that because he is afraid of a little pain oh poor you we all deal with pain]
Kekkan [I won't say it again]
The Child [Cant even respond to me defend yourself critique my claims. Maybe because its tru-]"
Kekkan [LISTEN HERE YOU LITTLE BRAT I TOLD YOU TO STOP TALKING DID I NOT I DONT HAVE TIME TO LISTEN TO A USELESS WRETCH LIKE YOU JUDGING EVERYTHING ABOUT ME!!]
The child sighs before speaking again.
The Child [The only way to prosper is to push forward if you stay and fight your just running away from your duty. Only through perseverance can you evolve]
Kekkan gives a stunned look
The Child [Ah well what do i know im just a child after all]
Just like before.reality shakes and malfunctions as the child vanishes from reality.
This isnt how i planned it kekkan thrusts his arm forward to avoid being sliced by the oncoming scissors. He grips his fist and collides it into the witches face. It launches them onto the chained floor.
But the one who killed him before. The one with the laugh of malice was not a witch it was.
A doll?
One with wide buttoned eyes. Ones that were monstrously huge they didn't belong on her face.large floppy ears reached out from both sides of her head. They were comprised of plasters covering something that was sown away.one eye glowed shining and lighting up a place that reeked of death.
The other dark gloomy it looked like whoever created her was trying to recreate something that was lost a long time ago.
She had a stitched up smile. Well it looked like that's what they were going for but in reality. It looked like a fabricated smile that fell from grace. So obviously fake.
Her hair flew down like neat brown strands of hair. It felt like it could disappear with a mere touch. It was held together by white pins and multicoloured buttons. Some locks were still entangled.
On her shoulder resides a stuffed white rabbit. It was alive but forbidden to speak. Its mouth stitched completely shut. The entirety of the rest of her body was torn and poorly stitched together. Like a fractured psyche. Something otherworldly but also felt human and broken.
She came towards him in a limp. With every step it twitched. As it got closer its steps turned to tears stitches coming apart, it looked so fragile as if a mere touch would destroy it.
Something about how human and how fragile and broken it looked made kekkan hesitate. He couldn't do this; he had changed his mind on the spur of the moment.
What should I do ? This thing is sure to tear me apart and purge me like last time. But if i run forward will it not catch me anyways. My limbs are shaking and I can't feel my own arms. There's no chance I can beat this. It looked fragile but could i even build the courage to throw a punch no thats not it its something else.
Kekkan made up his mind he would run
The doll gripped the scissors in its hand waiting kekkans next move.
He sprinted away and he didn't look back. Straight ahead was the way to go. Through the endless tunnels he ventured like before they closed in more every step.
He heard the laughter of malice from the last loop; it was undoubtedly the same thing. He came to his dead end from last time in the crawlspace. He pushed through it. Crawling as the chains creeped up on him this time he swayed the chains away. He had to make it this time. He made the mistake of looking behind him.
The doll towered over him; it was no longer fragile and innocent but. Vile and wretched . He was frozen in place, hopeless there was no escape.
Until
A trample was heard on the chains and a man leaped in the air sword in hand he clashed it with the dolls scissors. A heroic man with dark slick black hair, he looked to be of Irish ethnicity.
Hair glossed over the top of his forehead but not long enough to cover his eyes. He wore a black leather trench coat that reached down to his legs.
With this the chains began dragging from the bottom this time. They left and opened in the ground a bottomless pit sinking into kekkans skin they began to drag me down.
???: [Dont fight the chains accept them, fighting back will only drag you further into the darkness]
. Why would I let the chains drag me down? I will fight. He kept lifting his hands from the chains, fighting them off and pulling them out. Fighting was of no use he soon lost his vision.
Awaking on a cold rusted dirty chain filled ground he had been back at the start but much like last time it was slightly different. Instead of rusted silver chains these chains were red bloodsoaked chains. The atmosphere was one of bloodlust and cruelty. This was the worst one yet. It did have a tiny bit more hope this time there were diverging pathways unlike the previous endless straight path.
I have reached the bottom layer of hell
