Chapter 106 - The arduous path of Lie Tribe (2)

The sharp whistle spread across a hundred-meter radius around the Lie Tribe Leader, right as the Heavy Earth Hyenas charged toward him.

The hyenas let out horrifying cries of pain the moment the sound reached their ears. Their intestines and internal organs twisted into chaos. In an instant, hundreds of the beasts at the front collapsed dead before even reaching the first defensive line.

The attack of the Lie Tribe Leader created a massive impact, wiping out hundreds of Heavy Earth Hyenas in a single move.

"The Tribe Leader is incredibly strong!.. With one strike, he created such a gap in the tide of beasts!"

"Quickly! Strike this weak point before the hyenas fill it again!"

Rank one and Rank two Gu Masters rushed forward without hesitation toward the opening in the beast formation. Wind blades, water spears, and shards of ice flew through the air, while stone spikes erupted from the ground, piercing straight through the beasts' bodies. In mere moments, a number of beasts nearly equal to those slain by the Tribe Leader were annihilated.

"This is truly the conduct of an expert… even I cannot compare to him in terms of cunning, planning, identifying enemy weaknesses so quickly, or creating an opening when none exists." Fang Tian's admiration for the crafty and capable Lie Tribe Leader deepened, and he even felt a trace of envy. After all, Fang Tian's experience could not yet match that of a Gu Master who had spent his entire life scheming and fighting like the old Tribe Leader.

But with time, Fang Tian was confident he would surpass him by far in cunning and strategy.

For now, all he needed to do was observe and learn, while ensuring his plan continued smoothly. If an opportunity arose to deal a fatal blow to the Lie Tribe by killing its leader, he would not hesitate. However, it had to be done in secrecy—at the exact moment when the Lie Tribe Leader let his guard down. Only then could Fang Tian strike.

If he failed this time, it did not matter. He could always lure more beast groups to attack the Lie Tribe. Eventually, the Tribe Leader would be forced to fight on the front lines. After all, the Lie Tribe was merely a mid-sized Tribe—how many waves of beasts could they withstand with only Rank one and Rank two Gu Masters?

At some point, the elders would be forced to intervene early to preserve their foundation, and afterward, the Tribe Leader himself would step in to protect the elders.

In this way, the Tribe Leader would repeatedly place his life in danger for the sake of the Tribe's foundation—granting Fang Tian countless chances to kill him. And once the Lie Tribe fell into a miserable state, suffering heavy losses… that would be the perfect time for Fang Tian to step in.

"But they are holding up well for now… their losses are minimal, while this beast group has already suffered significant casualties."

The Heavy Earth Hyenas slammed into the wall, shattering against it before falling into the deep trench. Their bodies piled up, filling it with corpses and blood, allowing other hyenas to climb over them and cross the defensive line.

On the other side, the Gu Masters of the Lie Tribe unleashed continuous long-range attacks, slaughtering the charging beasts. However, the numbers were simply overwhelming. Without exposing a major gap, they could not achieve decisive results in a short time.

"My primeval essence is running out… filthy beasts!" a female Gu Master shouted angrily as she retreated from the wall, grabbing a primeval stone to absorb it. Immediately, a Rank two Gu Master leaped forward to take her place, unleashing attacks toward the hyenas.

"This won't work!.. What are these elders thinking? All the Tribe's strength is concentrated on this defensive line, and no second line has been built for retreat!"

"Watch out!"

A muffled shout cut through her thoughts. Before she could even react, a horrifying sight greeted her.

Long yellow fangs, like daggers, reeking of a sulfurous stench—her nose shrank instinctively as her pupils dilated. In the next instant, a Hundred Beast King, as large as a bull and as heavy as an elephant, slammed into her, shattering every bone in her body before biting off her head completely.

The sudden appearance of the Hundred Beast King drew the attention of nearby Gu Masters—as well as He Li.

The muscular, bronze-skinned youth charged forward in fury. Broad, curved tusks resembling those of an elephant emerged as he slammed into the beast. The tusks pierced straight through the Hundred Beast King's body, spilling its entrails onto the grass beside the corpse of the Gu Master.

"You fools! Defend properly! A Hundred Beast King slipped right under your noses and killed one of our people!.. Who knows if another one will charge through?!"

He Li roared angrily at the nearby Gu Masters before turning and rushing toward the Tribe Leader.

The old Lie Tribe Leader soon entered his field of vision. He stood calmly, observing the battlefield with unparalleled focus. Seeing this, He Li felt deep admiration.

"As expected of father!.. Will I ever reach such a level of intelligence and strength?.."

"He Li, you came at the right time. The Heavy Earth Hyenas have begun to break through the defensive line. We concentrated our firepower here instead of building a second line and have already reduced their numbers by forty percent… but there are still around twelve thousand beasts left, along with many Beast Kings. Go with Elder Shan Zu… and attack that Thousand Beast King."

The Lie Tribe Leader, He An, raised his thin arm and pointed toward the target.

That Thousand Beast King resembled a massive war elephant armored in rock, leading its subordinates as it pressed heavily against the defensive line.

"Understood, Father!.."

He Li bowed deeply before rushing off toward Elder Shan Zu.

"So this is what the Lie Tribe Leader intends to do!.. It won't be easy to execute—it's even a reckless move—but if it succeeds, this entire beast group will collapse immediately… But why involve the elders in battle already, when they haven't suffered heavy losses yet?"

Fang Tian observed the battlefield in confusion, carefully analyzing the mindset of the Lie Tribe Leader.
