Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Catch-Up, Part Two; Episode Seven Watch

That afternoon's theory class was taught by an old shinobi whose battlefield stories might've been impressive once—but as a teacher, he was painfully dull. Within ten minutes, half the class looked ready to face-plant on their desks.

Naraku, already familiar with the material, slipped open the video site and hit play. Time to keep binging.

Part Two of Naruto kicked off with Tobirama Senju stepping into the Hokage's chair.

With Hashirama dead, the other villages finally gave in to their greed. They circled Hidden Leaf like vultures, looking for any excuse to sink their teeth into the Land of Fire's wealth.

The First Great Ninja War erupted. Tobirama led the defense.

Mist and Stone clashed, and in their very first battle, the Second Tsuchikage and Second Mizukage killed each other. Ōnoki rose as the new Tsuchikage, a third Mizukage took the mantle, and Ōnoki was the first to call for peace.

Meanwhile, the Second Raikage tried to sneak attack Hidden Leaf. But Tobirama wasn't one to be cornered. He countered with young Hiruzen Sarutobi at his side.

Cornered, the Raikage agreed to peace talks, inviting Tobirama to Cloud.

But at the summit, Kinkaku and Ginkaku staged a coup, assassinated the Raikage, and ambushed Tobirama's unit. With no way out, Tobirama chose to stay behind, the decoy who'd buy time.

"Who's staying with me?" he asked.

Danzo froze. Hiruzen stepped forward without hesitation. Tobirama named him Third Hokage and ordered the others to retreat. Together with Kagami Uchiha, he made his last stand. Both died holding the line.

Hiruzen returned to Hidden Leaf as Hokage, just as the war wound down.

By this point, the viewers were wrecked. The live chat scrolled with crying emojis, mourning Tobirama and Kagami's sacrifice.

The story pushed forward—Hiruzen took Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru as his students. Danzo founded Root. Koharu and Homura took council seats.

Peace didn't last. Fifteen years later, the Second War broke out. Worse than the first—Hidden Leaf was forced onto three, sometimes four fronts at once.

At Hidden Rain, Hidden Leaf clashed with Sand and Stone until Hanzō of the Salamander dropped in, poisoning everything and everyone. Somehow, Hidden Leaf endured, and Hanzō—impressed—dubbed Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru the "Legendary Sannin."

But Hidden Sand tried to exploit Hidden Leaf's weakness. The First Kazekage's son and daughter-in-law infiltrated. Their luck ran out. Sakumo Hatake—the White Fang—slaughtered them in a duel so fierce that lightning, steel, and puppet strings blurred into a storm. The fandom went wild.

No wonder Kakashi's debut episode had people screaming about Sakumo. This was his hype arc.

Afterward, the Sannin stumbled upon three war orphans in the Rain: Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato. Jiraiya noticed Nagato's red hair and Rinnegan and decided to stay behind, convinced he'd found the Child of Prophecy.

Tsunade wasn't so lucky. Her brother Nawaki died in an explosion, her lover Dan fell in battle, and her trauma spiraled into hemophobia.

Orochimaru, too, changed—haunted by death, he began chasing forbidden science.

By the time the Second War ended, the tone was undeniable.

Part One had been a tale of two rivals. Part Two was an ensemble epic—dozens of major characters, each with their rise, their tragedy, their spotlight. The story weighed heavier now, bound by chains of hatred dragging the world into the mud.

But the battles? Still peak hype. Legendary scenes stacked on top of each other. The show blew up globally, cementing Naruto as a world-class franchise.

And still… no Madara. No Black Zetsu.

Hundreds of episodes, and the shadows behind the curtain hadn't even shown their faces. Naraku smirked to himself. The Animator was saving their reveal—Black Zetsu's schemes, Madara's downfall.

He already knew where this was going.

Another day ended. Naraku showered, stretched out on his futon, and pulled up the system's feed.

Two brand-new episodes. Barely thirty minutes live, and the comments section was already a flood.

He clicked Episode Seven.

The first half: Minato Namikaze prepping for a mission, his bond with Kushina deepening as they shopped for supplies together, laughing like a real couple. Passing the academy, they reminisced about being classmates once upon a time.

Then the camera shifted—Kakashi, slouched at his desk, chin propped on his hand, eyes flicking to an empty seat over and over. Uneasy.

He hasn't shown up all day. Hope he's okay.

[He's not okay!!]

[Shinji went too far this time.]

[If this was meant to force the Sharingan, that's sick.]

[Our boy can't even get out of bed today.]

Cut to after school. Kakashi hesitated at the Uchiha compound gates, worried an outsider wouldn't be welcome. Lucky for him, Akira Hoshino walked by and offered to go with him.

[Akira-sensei, I take back every insult about your fight planning. You're the best.]

[This is what a real teacher does.]

[So accurate—missing a whole day means a home visit.]

[Please, Akira, knock Shinji Uchiha flat.]

[Not happening. Best he can do is break even.]

Together, they entered Shinji Uchiha's house. Empty. Too quiet.

Then Kakashi spotted it—long strands of hair on the floor. He flipped on the light.

And there Naraku was. Collapsed in a corner, hair hiding his face, bandages loose, blood soaking the tatami.

Both of them froze, then rushed to him. Akira scooped him up, heart in his throat, and sprinted for the hospital.

The medic tore into them for waiting so long. Akira, usually all warmth and smiles, looked darker and darker as the diagnosis came in. Months of untreated injuries. Old fractures. Malnutrition.

Kakashi's stomach turned. He'd always assumed Naraku's wounds came from bullies in the clan. But this? This was abuse.

Not everyone deserved the title of "father."

[Noooo Naraku T_T]

[Akira-sensei is heartbroken]

[Didn't even argue with the medic—he was panicked]

[Kakashi can't believe anyone would do this to their own kid]

[Sakumo's a real dad. Shinji's just trash.]
