Chapter 95: Mrs. Sharon's Wrath
As night deepened, Lu Ze hid in the shadow of a gas streetlamp, observing the house before him. The alluring voice of a woman echoed in his ears again, confirming he had found the right place.
Should he just barge in?
That didn't seem appropriate. It would be better to scout first.
Lu Ze thought for a moment, then climbed over the wall into the opposite yard. He used his dagger to create a spiritual wall, then took out a candle, essential oils, herbs, and other materials from his in arms — the streets were sparsely populated at night, so even if he was stealthily doing something strange, he wouldn't have to worry about being discovered for a short while.
Lu Ze used his spirituality to light the candle symbolizing himself, dripped essential oil into it, and scattered herbs. When the atmosphere became mystical, he took a deep breath and said in Ancient Hermes Language:
"I!"
Then, he switched to Hermes and continued to chant, "In my name, I summon the spirits wandering in illusion, the keen-sighted beings from the upper realm, the friendly ones willing to lend me their ethereal eyes."
He sought power from Spirit World beings to find a way to scout Mrs. Sharon's mansion.
Boom!
The flame instantly turned an eerie blue, expanding to the size of a human head. A transparent lizard slowly crawled out from within, as large as a medium-sized dog. Most striking were its eyes, which protruded from its sockets like antennae.
Lu Ze communicated with this creature through spiritual intuition, understood what it needed, then nodded, picked up his dagger, and made a cut beneath his eye bag. The nerves around the eyelids were quite sensitive, and it seemed to hurt a bit more than cutting other parts of the skin.
But it was fine, not too painful.
Lu Ze thought this. After becoming a Secrets Supplicant, he somewhat sadly realized that he seemed to have grown accustomed to various acts of harming his own body.
Blood quickly flowed from the wound beneath his eye bag, as if he were crying tears of blood. But before the blood could streak down his cheek and fall to the ground, the transparent lizard extended its long tongue and licked away the blood tears. Its already protruding eyes extended even further outward, until they detached from their sockets and floated up.
Lu Ze felt a stirring and immediately closed his injured eye.
The world did not turn Darkness just because he closed his eyes; instead, another field of vision appeared. In this vision, he saw himself with his eyes closed, from a higher angle. It was that floating eye; his vision had linked with that eye.
As Lu Ze's thoughts stirred, this eye also floated and moved around.
Spirit World beings are difficult to detect without activating spiritual vision, meaning Lu Ze now had a discreet way to scout the house. He manipulated the eye, floating it towards the inside of the house.
The transparent eye was completely unimpeded by walls. It easily passed through the perimeter wall, crossed the garden, and finally entered the ground floor hall.
This was a very luxurious space, clearly prepared for many guests to dance. But perhaps due to the wrong timing, it was completely bathed in Darkness at the moment. Lu Ze searched the entire first floor, but besides seeing sleeping servants in a corner room, he found nothing else.
Is she on the second floor?
By the way, why would this Demoness live in such a high-class place?
Lu Ze wondered, floating upstairs.
He controlled the eyeball to pass through the floor, and after a moment of Darkness, light returned to his vision.
Hmm?
More than ten meters away, Lu Ze's body couldn't help but tremble.
There's someone in the room!
This was an extremely luxurious room, with beautifully patterned carpets covering the floor, furniture made of various expensive woods, a bedside table piled high with cosmetics and jewelry, and a half-open walk-in closet filled with exquisite clothing.
In front of the bedside table, a beautiful figure sat with her back to Lu Ze. She wore a veil and gloves, and her appearance was somewhat familiar.
Mrs. Sharon?
Lu Ze recalled that unforgettable night, the figure who entered the private box while watching the play.
Wait, Mrs. Sharon is also a Demoness?
I came following Triss's blood, why isn't it Triss the Demoness?
Lu Ze's heart was filled with doubts.
Something's not right, very not right!
Mrs. Sharon took off her gloves, exposing her hands to the air. On that soft, fair hand, there was a large, hideous scar that instilled fear in those who saw it, while also evoking a sense of pity. It was as if a precious work of art had been defaced by barbaric marks.
On the dressing table was the small bottle Triss had sent. Mrs. Sharon opened the bottle and carefully dripped one drop onto the scar. The blood-red liquid seeped into the scar, and the originally hideous wound faded somewhat. A few more drops fell, and the scar began to shrink inward, becoming smaller.
Mrs. Sharon put down the bottle and removed the veil from her head.
Half a face, pure and alluring, charming and pitiable — the other half was completely ruined. The scars were even more terrifying than those on her hand, completely devoid of skin, like a skull corroded and covered with a bit of flesh and blood.
Holy crap!
Lu Ze couldn't help but be startled.
Suddenly, without warning, Mrs. Sharon abruptly turned her head and looked at Lu Ze. On her face, which combined beauty and ugliness, a strange smile appeared.
"I've finally been waiting for you."
Mrs. Sharon said.
Her voice was sweet and charming, yet it sounded incredibly cold, filled with malice and killing intent.
Whoosh!
Lu Ze immediately opened his eyes. He unhesitatingly ended the ritual, grabbed the candle, and fled in the direction away from the house.
Clearly, his tracking had failed, and he had been ambushed instead!
Although he wasn't sure what Mrs. Sharon's Sequence was, she clearly seemed much stronger than Triss. Not only did she easily discover him, but more importantly, for some reason, her hostility towards him was incredibly strong, so strong that she didn't hide her killing intent at all!
As soon as he climbed out of the yard, Lu Ze immediately activated the Clown doll on his chest. His speed suddenly increased, so fast that he could hear the whistling wind in his ears.
Wait, besides the wind, there was also a sharper sound coming from behind.
"Whoosh!"
Lu Ze's keen hearing helped immensely. In his rapid sprint, he sharply turned left, and several ice cones followed closely, fiercely plunging into the ground. If he hadn't turned, he would have been pinned to the ground by now.
"You run when you see me? Such an act would disgrace a lady."
Mrs. Sharon's charming voice came from behind. She had caught up at some point. Although her words were ambiguous, the coldness in her tone grew even stronger.
Lu Ze ignored her, only trying his best to escape.
At that moment, there was another whooshing sound from behind him. After he dodged it, he found that what landed was not an ice cone, but an ice mirror. In the mirror, Mrs. Sharon's face, a blend of horror and beauty, was smiling at him.
"Crack!"
The mirror shattered, and Mrs. Sharon broke through from within the mirror. The dagger in her hand burned with pitch-Dark flames, thrusting directly towards Lu Ze's heart!
