Chapter 50 - Chapter 50 Dream Visito

Chapter 50 Dream Visitor

"Oh, Lu Ze, it's you."

Benson saw Luze outside the door and greeted him warmly.

Good evening, Benson.

Lu Ze smiled and replied to the other party.

Benson Moretti, the eldest of the three Moretti siblings, bravely shouldered the responsibility of raising his younger siblings after their parents' passing, ensuring they had food, shelter, and access to education. His older brother, Luzer, greatly admired him for this. Furthermore, Benson Moretti's extensive social experience and eloquent manner provided Luzer with considerable assistance when he was renting a place, for which Luzer was very grateful.

"I heard from Klein that you're going on a business trip with him tomorrow. Are you here to discuss something about the trip with him? Come in and sit down for a while. He'll be out when he's finished cooking."

Benson told the maid to go back first, and then smiled and said to Luze, "Welcome to come in and have a seat."

Unlike Luze, Klein's family didn't know he was a Night Watcher; they only thought Blackthorn Security was a normal company involved in antique preservation. Therefore, Luze couldn't reveal anything to them casually.

"No need, I have other things to do," Lu Ze refused. "Besides, I'm not here to see Klein, but to ask you for a favor."

Looking for me?

Benson Curious Road.

"Yes, that's right. While I'm away on a business trip, Cecilia will be all alone at home, and I'm a little worried about her," Lu Ze frankly expressed his concerns. "So, I'd like to ask you to look after my sister. You don't need to take care of her daily needs, but if anything happens to her, I hope you can help."

"I understand. I should do this even without you telling me."

Benson smiled and said, "What a coincidence! Actually, I was just about to look for you. Klein only recently graduated from university and isn't very familiar with things in the real world yet. I was thinking of asking you to look after him during this business trip."

The two older brothers had the same idea.

They exchanged a knowing smile.

Because he needed to hurry to buy a suitcase, Lu Ze didn't stand on ceremony. After saying a quick goodbye to Benson, he left No. 2 Narcissus Street. He went to a luggage shop on the shopping street and bought not only a suitcase for himself, but also a small, easy-to-carry suitcase for his sister Cecilia, as well as a nice calfskin handbag.

Back home, Luze quickly packed his things and ate dinner. He left Cecilia enough money, told her to be careful, and then went back to his bedroom to rest.

Lu Ze was having a hazy dream. He dreamt that he was in his rented room from his past life, drinking soda and watching videos, surrounded by a TV and a game console. These things he hadn't been in for so long made him incredibly nostalgic. Just as he was about to turn on the game console and play a few rounds, the world suddenly trembled, and the misty dream quickly became clear. The surroundings were familiar; it was the living room on the first floor of his rented apartment at No. 6 Narcissus Street.

Am I dreaming?

Strange, I know what I'm doing.

Lu Ze was fully aware that he was dreaming.

This feeling seemed familiar, but when was it? Oh right, it was when Captain Dunn forcibly pulled me into a dream. Lu Ze thought subconsciously, then looked up and was startled.

Dunn was pressed against the windowpane, staring intently at him!

What is the captain going to do?

What should I do?

Just as Lu Ze was lost in thought, Dunn had already walked around to the door, pushed it open, and barged in without any ceremony. He hung his top hat and black trench coat on the coat rack behind the door, then nodded to Lu Ze and went straight to sit down on the sofa opposite him.

There was no other way but to play along.

Lu Ze pretended to be asleep and asked, "Captain, what's wrong?"

"Aren't you welcoming me?"

Dunn raised an eyebrow and smiled.

He seemed less serious than usual when he appeared in other people's dreams.

"Uh, of course you're welcome."

Luze was at his wit's end, so he could only serve Dunn the tea on the table. Afterwards, Dunn didn't leave immediately, but kept looking Luze over, as if he himself was unsure what to do.

Could it be that he's trying to play the "nightmare"? Whatever he's doing, just finish playing the role quickly and don't disturb my sleep. I have to go on a business trip tomorrow!

"Please be extra careful about your safety during this business trip."

Perhaps Lu Ze's inner grumbling had an effect, because Dunn suddenly took the initiative to speak.

"Ah? Oh, I see."

"Be careful of that Lanius. He has a grudge against you and hasn't been caught yet."

"clear."

"Watch out! He's over there."

Just then, Dunn suddenly pointed behind Luze.

Luze instinctively looked behind him, and sure enough, Lanius appeared, sporting his signature mocking smile and baring his teeth behind Luze.

Forehead.

Lu Ze looked at "Lanius" who was exactly the same as the one in the newspaper and was somewhat at a loss.

Because this illusion was created by Dunn, he didn't know the real Lannius—the real Lannius hated him so much that when he saw Luzer, he would probably tear Luzer to pieces, not frighten him so innocently.

As Lu Ze faced "Lanius," he couldn't help but glance at Dunn out of the corner of his eye, noticing that the other was expecting something.

The captain was trying to scare me.

Should I cooperate with the captain and pretend to be scared?

No, if I pretend, it won't serve as "feedback" at all. It won't help the captain process the information, and it might even hinder his understanding of "playing the role."

In the blink of an eye, Lu Ze had already reached a conclusion.

React with your most genuine self!

"Lanius, you son of a bitch!"

He cursed angrily, grabbed the teapot from the table, and smashed it on "Lanwus's" head with a loud bang, scattering shards all over the floor.

Dunn and "Lanius" were both stunned.

They were stunned, but Lu Ze was not. Taking advantage of the moment, he rushed to the clothes rack and picked up the cane that was there.

This cane was a gift from Cecilia; she felt a gentleman needed one. Luze took it with him for a few days when he traveled, but then it didn't feel right, so he tossed it to the coat rack. Now it's come in handy!

"Smack!"

He rushed over and smacked "Lanius" on the head with a stick!

"Lanius" fell to the ground.

"Slap! Slap!"

"How dare you come back to me?"

Luze roared and continued his attack on the fallen Lanius, swinging his cane around as if it were free, smashing it hard into Lanius's head and back. Lanius clutched his head, howling in pain.

Seeing that his opponent was incapacitated, Lu Ze swiftly drew his revolver from its holster and aimed it at the man's head.

"call--"

A gust of wind, carrying black mist, howled in, sweeping up everything in the world. When Luze opened his eyes again, the dream had returned to chaos, and Dunn and "Lanius" had vanished without a trace.

Finally gone

Luze gave a wry smile. "Captain, you should go and cause trouble for Klein. He lives right next door to me."

After an unknown amount of time, he finally regained his sleepiness, let his dreams envelop him, and fell into a deep sleep.
