The night air over London was thick with tension, headlights slicing through the darkness as Owen Shaw's crew roared through the streets in formation. At the front, Owen's modified ride led the charge. The monstrous flip cars tore into police interceptors, sending them tumbling like toys. Letty and Vegh flanked tight, precision in every move, while Jah and Klaus watched the sides.
At the back of the convoy, Jeff slid into position. His matte-gray beast purred like a predator, EMP coils ready, HUD alive with pursuit warnings.
"Rear guard," Owen's calm voice crackled in his ear. "Keep them off us."
"Consider it done," Jeff replied.
The first wave of police poured in behind them, sirens wailing. Jeff thumbed a switch thud. A pulse of blue light exploded from under his car. Engines died instantly, cruisers spinning out and piling into each other in a cascade of sparks.
"Rear clear," Jeff said coolly.
Owen's voice was sharp, efficient. "Good. Now hold them."
Then they came.
Not cops. Not amateurs. But pros.
Four BMW M5s surged through the wreckage, weaving past disabled cruisers like sharks cutting through bloodied water. Behind the wheels Dom, Brian, Tej, and Roman. Not far behind, Han and Gisele moved in tandem, with Hobbs pressing hard in his armoured vehicle.
"Targets acquired," Jeff muttered, gripping the wheel tighter.
Dom's M5 gunned forward, engine howling, his eyes locked on Owen at the front. But Jeff swerved across the lane, blocking his path.
Dom's glare cut to him. A challenger. A wall.
"Not happening tonight," Jeff growled.
Dom tried to muscle past, his M5 grinding into Jeff's armoured side. Jeff countered, stabilizers widening as sparks sprayed across the asphalt. Dom pulled a risky maneuver, brake-checking and swerving left, but Jeff mirrored him, system-assisted reflexes snapping to the exact angle.
Brian closed in from the right, trying to flank. Jeff flicked a switch smoke screen. A thick cloud billowed out, forcing Brian to pull back, coughing curses into his comms.
"Who the hell is this guy?!" Brian shouted.
Roman's voice came through, panicked but loud. "Man, that ain't no normal driver! He's got freakin' gadgets!"
"Focus up," Tej snapped. "Stay on him!"
The street became chaos.
Jeff danced between lanes, cutting off Dom every time he tried to surge forward. Brian regrouped, only to get clipped by a sudden oil slick Jeff dumped across the tarmac, sending his M5 fishtailing before he recovered. Roman tried to ram him from behind, but Jeff's rear defense spikes shredded Roman's bumper, forcing him to swerve out wide.
"Damn! This dude's playin' dirty!" Roman barked.
Tej, cool-headed, shifted in to assist, but Jeff toggled the EMP again. A pulse rippled across the street, frying Tej's comms and briefly stuttering his engine. Tej cursed, smacking his dashboard to bring it back.
Dom refused to yield. He powered up beside Jeff, ramming him again and again, their cars scraping violently as both men fought for dominance. For every instinctive move Dom made, Jeff's system-enhanced precision matched it perfectly. It was skill versus skill muscle memory against augmented mastery.
Neither could pull ahead.
For a moment, their eyes locked through tinted glass. Respect. Recognition. Challenge.
But Owen's crew was already vanishing into the night, the mission secure. Jeff had done his job.
He braked hard, cutting a barrier between Dom's crew and the retreating convoy. The last thing Dom saw before the chaos swallowed them was Jeff's matte-gray beast disappearing into the dark.
Back at the base, Owen poured himself a drink, watching the crew regroup. His calm voice broke the silence.
"Toretto and his people were on us. And yet… we're standing here. Because you," he nodded at Jeff, "did your job flawlessly."
Jeff leaned against his car, unbothered. "Told you I'd deliver."
Owen smirked. "You're more than a driver. You're insurance."
Jeff allowed himself a thin grin. But deep down, he couldn't shake the image of Dom's glare.
For the first time, Jeff knew he wasn't just another piece on the board. He was a rival. A new player in a game where family, loyalty, and skill defined everything.

Jeff's smirk deepened.
The road ahead was only getting faster.
