Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - Opposite Pull

Tucker wiped the last streak of sauce off a restaurant counter and glanced at the gleaming chandeliers above.

A five-star restaurant wasn't his world—it was polished, shiny, and completely out of reach for a twenty-one-year-old who'd been kicked out at fifteen.

Since then, life had been a series of odd jobs: painting walls, delivering food, anything to keep a roof over his head and a few coins in his pocket.

And then she walked in.

Luna. Twenty-four, stunning, radiating wealth and beauty. Her silk dress swayed as she moved, diamonds glinting on her neck.

She looked like a goddess in the middle of this human world. But Tucker didn't know her secret, and she didn't know his past.

Her family had disowned her for being trans, leaving her with immense wealth and a loyal fifty-five-year-old butler named Theodore. Still, despite the fortune, Luna craved something real—pure love, something she hadn't found in a world obsessed with appearances.

Their eyes met across the room. A spark ignited instantly. Tucker's heart thumped—a rare feeling for a man used to scraping by.

Luna felt it too: a strange pull toward the messy, paint-stained man who seemed oblivious to her wealth yet looked… different.

She walked toward him, curiosity and boldness in her step.

"Hi… you work here?" Her voice was soft but confident.

"Yeah," Tucker said, brushing his hands on his jacket and trying not to notice how perfect she looked.

"Tucker. You?"

"Luna," she replied, smiling. Something in his rough edges drew her in, made her want to know more.

Tucker grinned. Already, a mischievous idea took root.

Flirt with her, charm her—maybe even enjoy a little game with a woman who could have anything she wanted.

Luna, on the other hand, needed to hide her truth. Being trans was her secret, something she feared could ruin any chance at love. And yet, she couldn't resist him.

"You come here often?"

Tucker asked casually, leaning against the counter, pretending to be at ease.

"Not really,"

Luna said, tilting her head, eyes flicking to his hands. "I like quiet places.

Real places. Places that don't feel… fake."

"Real, huh?" Tucker laughed.

"Funny, I was thinking the same about people."

She laughed too—a soft, melodic sound that made his chest tighten.

"You seem… different," she admitted.

"Not like the others."

It was the beginning of a dangerous game. Tucker wanted to flirt, tease, maybe even take advantage of her wealth.

Luna wanted to hide her truth, to test if someone could love her for her, not her money.

Sparks flew, lies waited in the shadows, and both felt the pull of something neither could control.

As Luna returned to her table, she stole glances at him, feeling her heart race.

Tucker's gaze followed her too, curiosity and mischief dancing in his eyes.

He whispered to himself, smirking,

"Rich girl… let's see where this goes."

Two lives collided that night. Messy, tangled, unpredictable. And yet, amid the playful lies and the unspoken truths, something real began to stir—a love unmasked, chaotic, and impossible to ignore.
