Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Perception of the night

On this dark night, on this night when even the moonlight does not illuminate the earth, when nothing can be seen, on this night when clouds have covered the sky and rain is coming as if the sky has opened its mouth and a sea is pouring down. On this night, in a house far from even the slightest light, a house where it seems as if the devil has swallowed it and now the whispers of death can be heard there.

In one of the rooms of the house, a person in a black, cult-like robe is kneeling, is he crying? Or is he happy about succeeding in something? In what? Oh, that's right, DEATH. A dead body lies in front of him, a body that looks not only almost torn to pieces, but also as if certain areas of the body have been specifically targeted. The person is muttering something.

"Hatsi nyalu Xefual... Hatsi nolipo basiantju Xefual... nomot hatsi CHANTEL pan marzakl Xefual"

'May the sun be extinguished... may the shine of sun be disappeared... and may THEY swallow the sun'

After whispering those words, that person suddenly turns into pieces of darkness and disappears, and the body turns to powder. The house also disappears as if it never existed, and only, for a while, the whispers of the pain of those who died in that house remain, but they too are no longer heard after a while, as if they had never existed there. The long night is still ahead, the rain is falling and the moon is behind the clouds, and the devil is among them.

1:36 AM, somewhere in Ahlen City

Leo looks at that paper written in another language for a moment, but still can't make any sense out of it. He puts it in his back pocket for later. He goes to the bedside table and rummages through its drawers. In the first drawer there was a notebook, a notebook covered in brown leather. oh, it seemed brown is Leonard favorite color.

On the leather of the notebook was written: "My Diary." This was great, a diary . Leonard could have gotten most of his memories back! Well, no. When he opened the diary, most of the pages were torn or scribbled, but on the first few pages of the notebook there was something neatly written:

"Today I have to go to Anderson Hospital to bury my mother somewhere, and then I'll go see her. Dr. Maal said that Lun B caused her death, but why would she take Lun B for no reason? And why so quickly?... Ha ha, never mind. It's not so strange that she died so quickly from Lun B's disease, but I, a fool, still can't believe that she's gone. It was just a week ago…" August 7, 262 Era of Landora the Fourth~~

It looks like the ink has leaked at the end of the writing because there is a large ink stain there.

There is another writing on another page: "Today, after burying my mother, I will go to her. Today I have to go to Clover too, so I will also visit the city of Khuiy." August 8, 262 Era of Landora the Fourth~~

'So I buried my mother before I lost my memories, okay. But she...? Who am I referring to in this...? Maybe she has something to do with my memory loss, but for now, I want more information.'

And on the other intact, untorn pages, written in a strange, bad handwriting, was "Help...?" Leonard could barely read the words because they seemed to have been erased with ink.

When he touches the ink in pages, they feel fresh and the ink hasn't completely dried yet. When Leo looks at his hands and clothes, he sees that on his fingertips, some parts of his hand, and the sleeve of his shirt are slightly inked. It seems that he did this recently or shortly before he lost his memory.

'This... this is... ink! This ink mark looks fresh, which means it hasn't been long since this diary was torn and inked, which is exactly when I lost some of my memories. But why...? It could be something I knew and wrote in the diary, but then why did I tear it up...? Aghhh'

Leonard is a little confused, because it seems like something or someone didn't want him to have those memories, like... like he was a danger to him or... maybe he just bumped his head somewhere? No, that's too stupid.

'I need to know more about myself and the people around me, or even this whole city. There's definitely something here.'

Leo rummages through the other drawers of the bedside table. He looks at the first drawer again. Inside are a few pens and quills, a bottle of ink, and some blank sheets of paper.

In the second drawer are three books, one with a slightly worn brown cover, on which is written "The Geography of the Tarnial Continent" by D. Ahlen in the year 253 of the L. era, another with a brown leather cover, on which is written "The History of the Era of Landora the Fourth" by Mrs. Rose M. in the year 259 of the L. era, and the last one is a freshly green leather cover, on which is written "The History of the Age of Blood and Agony" by an unknown person in the year 128 of the L. era.

'Okay. So the name of this continent is Tarinal and I'm in the city of Ahlen now. These books aren't bad, but the strange thing is the book Age of Blood and Agony. This book was written over a hundred and forty years ago! How is it still completely intact and new?! And another thing, why does this name... sound familiar to me...?'

The book The Age of Blood and Agony, a book written over a hundred and forty years ago. A book that shouldn't exist and doesn't belong to this Era. A book that talks about an age that should remain hidden, but in a strange way, completely intact and new, it's here in front of Leo now, as if time and space gave it to him, but why? Why would a book from an era when God did not exist and death ruled be in his hands now?

'I get a strange feeling from this book, as if it wants to talk to me. I don't remember anything, but I get a strange sense of horror from the book Age of Blood and Agony, I feel that this book and the era it talks about are cursed. There must be a reason for this book to be in my hands.'

The Age of Blood and Iron didn't get its name for nothing. It's also known as the Age of Darkness and annihilation.

When God was gone.

When Faceless ones are done.

And when HE was still ALIVE.

'And the other strange thing is that it's as if someone prepared these books for me, or maybe it was me? I mean, did I know I was going to lose my own memory? I don't know. I have to read these books for now.'

1:06AM, on Preston Street, south of Ahlen City

Preston Street has always been a strange place, because death has always been lurking there. Dozens of murders have been reported from here, so much so that residents have been forced to leave the area altogether. Many thought it was a curse, or even a supernatural being, but in the end the reason for all this is something else, something more terrible.

"Mr. Kager, please come here quickly!"

Inside a small tent with a table and several chairs, several maps, and several extinguished cigarettes, a man in a wet raincoat, a slightly tired face, and stubble on his chin, as if he had just entered middle age, leaned against the table and smoked a cigarette, Officer Cranson Kager. He was thinking that a young policeman, completely soaked and scared, had come up to him.

"What's wrong, Chandler?"

He stubs out his cigarette in the ashtray and stares at Chandler. Officer Kager is sent by the Thread and silk Police Station, brought here for many cases and murders that hapend on Preston Street, but for a different reason than the other cops and detectives.

"The Loliant family house... the Loliant family house has completely disappeared!"

Officer Kager doesn't seem too surprised, as if he knew this would happen eventually, it was just a matter of time. The disappearance of the Loliant family house is certainly a strange thing, a house that has been uninhabited for over fifty years, after the Loliant family was wiped out for unknown reasons.

"Take me there."

Officer Kager puts on his hat, covers himself completely with the black raincoat and goes outside the tent. He holds his hat so that the wind doesn't blow it away. The wind is blowing terribly and the rain is falling, as if the sky has cracked. This rain has been falling for hours and it won't stop.

"When will this damn rain gonna end?!"

Officer Kager, completely annoyed by the weather, heads to the Loliant family home, or where the house used to be, with Chandler Conista, a young cop who has just been hired at the Thread and silk Police Station. Officer Kager thinks a little as he goes there. It is a terrible night, both in terms of the weather and the whispers of death.

'When this night... gonna end?'
