Chapter 342 - Chapter 342: Jadeplume Terrorshroom

The Jadeplume Terrorshroom was the king of the Fungi, dwelling deep within the forest and surrounded by clusters of fungal creatures. It was an evolved form of Fungus, and its appearance resembled a giant rooster.

"This kind of Fungus is rather rare. Evolution is not that easy for them," Buer said.

There were many Fungi in Sumeru, but those capable of evolving to the level of a Jadeplume Terrorshroom were few and far between. Moreover, it required an extremely long time to succeed.

"There's a Lord of Fungi in Natlan. Buer, have you heard of it?" Koji thought of that demon god whose strength could be ranked near the very bottom.

"Lord of Fungi?"

Buer knew of that demon god. It had left Sumeru, but afterward, no one paid much attention to it. After checking Irminsul, a strange expression appeared on her face.

"That fungal demon god can be considered quite an oddity even among the demon gods I know," Buer said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

The Lord of Fungi's authority was somewhat interesting. The more clones it had, the stronger it became. This ability was not weak, but correspondingly, the fewer clones it had, the weaker it would become.

Unfortunately, its luck was terrible. It actually ran off to a place filled with quite a few great demon kings. The clones it had just created would immediately get eaten. It would be strange if it could grow strong like that.

"I feel like this green giant rooster is stronger than that demon god," Koji said.

Buer was speechless. There was no need for him to "feel" that way. The Lord of Fungi truly was weaker than the Jadeplume Terrorshroom.

"Natlan is not very suitable for grass-element lifeforms like Fungi. Sumeru's environment is much more fitting."

Natlan's grass element was not abundant, which made it unfavorable for the Lord of Fungi to create clones.

"If we used this giant rooster as a mount, wouldn't it look pretty impressive?" Koji said.

"Are you sure?"

Buer had never had a mount before. Her familiars were the Aranara, but they were too small to carry her on a long journey.

"What's wrong? I think it's pretty suitable. They're both grass-element, and its strength is greater than that of an ordinary Vision holder," Koji said.

"Fine, then."

The two arrived on the platform. After its territorial instincts were triggered, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom ran toward them.

"Become our mount," Koji shouted.

[Blessing of Language]: Allows communication with any intelligent lifeform.

"This lady is the God of Grass. Do you have any objections to becoming her mount?"

The Jadeplume Terrorshroom seemed to ponder. It could sense the dense grass-element aura on Buer's body. She was an existence it had to look up to.

Having evolved to the level of a Jadeplume Terrorshroom, its intelligence was not low. If it refused, would this demon god directly and humanely dispose of it?

After thinking it over, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom expressed its thoughts.

It could leave, but a new habitat had to be found for both itself and the Fungi living here.

"No problem. There is a suitable place for you to use," Buer said.

After the two sat on the Jadeplume Terrorshroom's back, they experienced the thrill of riding a mount through the rainforest. This was something very difficult to achieve with their own two legs.

Fungi could interact with the grass element. In Sumeru, one could say there was no one more familiar with the terrain than it was, so there would be no problem of crashing into anything.

"I have to say, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom's speed is quite comfortable." Buer brushed back the white hair beside her ear. The wind roared past her, giving her a sense of freedom.

"From now on, you can ride the Jadeplume Terrorshroom when you go out. Then you won't have to walk by yourself."

"What, are you afraid that if they get dirty, you won't get to eat them anymore?" Buer teased.

She knew Koji had a special fetish for jade-like feet. Every time, he could play with her feet for a very long time, and he could even bring them to his mouth to taste them.

"Exactly. You really do understand me."

"They have the fresh sweetness of grass and trees. They taste better than anything else," Koji said, spouting nonsense with a perfectly serious face.

Buer's pretty face burned hot. No matter how many times she heard words like that, she still could not get used to it.

Were they really that delicious?

Although she was the God of Wisdom, she did not understand this kind of thing.

"Buer, when you were first born, were you already this size? Or were you about the same as Nahida?" Koji asked.

"I was born like this. I am a demon god nurtured by Irminsul, while Nahida is a branch I broke off. She needed to grow from a small sapling," Buer said.

"After more than five hundred years, Nahida doesn't seem to have grown at all," Koji said curiously.

Although a demon god's constitution was different from a human's, Nahida's development was a little too slow.

"She is probably used to it. There is no need for her to change her body size. Otherwise, she could grow up at any time now."

For a demon god, body size was not important. It could be changed according to one's own will. The main thing was still one's state of mind.

The Jadeplume Terrorshroom stopped outside Sumeru City. If its enormous body entered the city, it would definitely cause panic.

"A Jadeplume Terrorshroom. This is my first time seeing such a creature face-to-face." Nahida walked over and observed it curiously.

The evolution paths of Fungi were varied and diverse, but there were not many that could reach the Jadeplume Terrorshroom's size.

Strange. Were there two Gods of Grass? Or was this little one the Greater God of Grass's daughter?

"In a certain sense, I suppose I can be considered Buer's daughter," Nahida said.

The Jadeplume Terrorshroom was confused.

"That was mind-reading. Don't be nervous."

Nahida smiled and comforted it. Even if she used this ability, she would not say it out loud. It was better to quietly look. The reason was that speaking it aloud would embarrass the other party.

This was an authority she had possessed since birth.

"Nahida, can you see what I'm thinking?" Koji temporarily turned off his blessing for mental defense. Otherwise, Nahida would not be able to read his mind.

"Spaghetti mixed with concrete?"

Nahida frowned. She did not understand what that meant.

"Don't worry about it. You've probably read other people's thoughts before, right?"

"Nahida, you wouldn't want others to know about this, would you?"

Nahida immediately felt her forehead darken with frustration. Why did those words sound like something an Inazuman would say?

"For anything, you need to present evidence. Where is your evidence?"

Nahida was not flustered at all. She had indeed observed before, but she had not exposed anyone else's privacy.

Koji smiled and shook his head. He could provide evidence, but there was no need.

"Nahida, from now on, it is still better not to casually look into other people's thoughts. It is not good," Buer said.

Although it would not be noticed, it was still a very rude thing to do.

"I understand." Nahida nodded.

"Buer, how should this Jadeplume Terrorshroom be arranged?"

"The place where they previously created a god can be given to the Jadeplume Terrorshroom and the Fungi as their future habitat."

In any case, it was idle anyway. The elemental energy there was very dense, so it was quite suitable for Fungi.

"Jadeplume Terrorshroom, remember to manage the Fungi properly. Don't let them hurt people."

The Jadeplume Terrorshroom nodded. None of that was a problem. It was already starting to feel a bit of a headache from taking on this new responsibility.
