Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Ivy

I rose up from the desk as I turned towards the voice, only for me to breathe a sigh of relief.

It was Aria and thankfully she was the only one left in the class room. She chuckled loudly as she saw my reaction and came closer towards me.

"You look like you saw a ghost. What? You're so scared of him?" She asked, laughing lightly as I rolled my eyes at her.

"It's not funny, who knows the reason why he is playing this stunt." I said but she didn't stop her laughter.

"To think that some people think you both are in a relationship or something." She said and I rolled my eyes, finishing up the notes I grabbed and turning towards her.

"That's their problem, all I want is to stay out of trouble." I said pulling her into my grip as we walked out.

We chatted as we attended the other class but as we headed towards our dormitory, Kale cornered us with his face showing signs of bullying. He smiled through his weary face.

"I dropped the project, you should find a new partner." He said, his voice still calm and gentle.

Aria looked towards me, her face knitted in fear and curiosity. It seemed like she had already known what happened to him.

"How are you? Are you still fine?" I asked and he nodded, his head lowered as he walked away. He walked slowly, like someone whose soul had been drained away.

I looked towards Aria, my eyes widened. "He did that? Didn't he?"

She nodded, her eyes softening as she stared at me. A smile rose on my face, thankful that at least she didn't run.

I led myself to my room. Pondering hard on what he really wanted to do.

Ruin my life? Or was he truly interested in me? I tossed and turned over my bed as if each turn would give me an answer but all I got was dark circles.

I sluggishly moved out of my bed once the sun hit my face, this time Aria didn't leave me behind but rather she was waiting.

"Will you come along today?" She asked, almost like she knew I would be reluctant to do so.

I immediately shook my head as she asked and she nodded.

"I'll try to keep some for you." She said as she walked away. I sighed, cursing at him. I had to avoid the dinner hall now just so I wouldn't cross paths with him again.

Why was he so bent on disturbing my life? I walked out of the room after struggling to put on my clothes.

The lack of sleep somehow made it difficult for me to concentrate or maybe it was the fact that I didn't know what he had in store for me.

I walked towards my locker only to meet yet another surprise waiting there for me. In it was a letter.

'Welcome to Blackmoor academy, let the games begin.'

Those words shook me as I looked around to see if I would find anyone suspicious enough to hold and question but I found nothing.

I scoffed, crumbling the paper as I threw it in a trash can nearby.

My mindset entirely changed. Since this mysterious person wanted to play games with me, then I might as well comply. A smile rose on my face as I moved towards the class I had.

I could only take a break when it was noon, and the classes today seemed super stressful. I rushed towards Aria's class as soon as I finished.

I was practically starving at this point. I had pulled through the classes but now, I needed to eat something. Thankfully for me, I had walked half way through when I bumped into her.

Sure enough, she held the food packaged in her hands.

I snatched it from her, a smile rose on my face as I muttered a thank you and began gobbling on the food.

"You can't possibly keep living like this right?" She asked after staring at me for a while.

I paused for a while but I continued either way. Truly, I couldn't continue like this and I was going to take things into my hands.

I gave a knowing smile after I noticed her grow uneasy and she sighed but suddenly, an announcement rang through the speakers. "Ivy Monroe, to the principal's office now."

I froze, the food still smudged on my face. Everyone in the hallway looked towards me, their eyes filled with delight, probably because they were sure I was in trouble.

I would have been, but I knew for sure that I did nothing wrong.

Without questioning anything, Aria helped me pack up the food as she led me to the office. "Do they have influence on the principal too?"

I asked, trying to figure out what could have possibly cooked up for me this time. "I don't know for sure, but most likely not. I think you should be safe." She muttered.

Soon, she came to a stop and she said "Here we are."

I took a deep breath, bracing myself for anything that could have awaited me as I walked into the office.

"Welcome." The principal spoke, a warm smile on his face that sent a chili down my spine.

He pulled out a key from his desk's locker and dropped it on the table. "You've been transferred to the East wing by your sponsor."

His last words made my ear ring as I immediately asked. "And he is..."

I asked but all he did was to scoff as he pushed the key further forward. "That's confidential." He said, focusing back on his work, without sparing me another glance.

I stood there, trying to process what had just happened. He had called on me from the speakers making me think I was in trouble and all he did was to hand me keys?

I scoffed, rolling my eyes as I walked out. For sure there was something terribly wrong with this school and the people in it.

I walked out, feeling dispirited as I looked towards Aria whose eyes sparked in anticipation.

I sighed, flashing the keys before her eyes before I spoke, reluctantly. "I was transferred to the East Wing."

I said, swinging the keys but her reaction made me straighten up immediately.
