Chapter 112 - Chapter 109 : you didn't happen to encounter a Heavenly Flame

Wait… you didn't happen to encounter a Heavenly Flame, did you?" came Yao Lao's sudden voice.

"Sharp senses, Senior," Xiao Jian smiled knowingly.

"Brother… you really found one?" Xiao Yan's eyes widened.

"Yeah. I stumbled upon a young Yin-Yang Flame and managed to subdue it."

As he spoke, Xiao Jian raised a finger. A black-and-white flame flickered to life at the tip, swirling beautifully.

"Yin-Yang Flame, ranked twenty-first on the Heavenly Flame List… kid, your luck is truly enviable!" Yao Lao muttered, voice tinged with envy.

Xiao Jian merely smiled, letting the old master reminisce in silence.

At Jia Nan Academy's recruitment grounds, Xun'er and Xiao Yu stood quietly together, eyes distant. Today was the brothers' day of departure.

Neither went to say goodbye...because if they did, they might not be able to let go.

"Xun'er, Xiao Yu, have some water," said a young man approaching with a polite smile.

Xun'er glanced at him coolly. "No, thank you."

"Go away," Xiao Yu said coldly. "I'm not in the mood."

The youth's smile froze awkwardly. "Ah… my bad, I talk too much.

" He turned to leave, but Xiao Yu snapped, "Take your water with you."

He frowned, about to speak again....when a flash of gold pierced his shoulder.

A scream rang out as he was sent flying by a burst of fierce energy.

"Don't you dare hit on me or Xiao Yu again," Xun'er said coldly, golden flames flickering in her eyes. "Brother Xiao Jian spared your life for the Academy's sake. I don't have to."

The youth collapsed, clutching his smoking wound, trembling in terror.

Instructor Ruo Lin rushed over, only to freeze when she saw the divine golden light in Xun'er's eyes. These Xiao family youths…

each one was more terrifying than the last!

"What happened?" she asked softly, turning to Xiao Yu.

"He's even slimier than Rob," Xiao Yu said with disgust. "Tried to make a move while they're gone."

Ruo Lin's gentle face darkened. If these idiots drove away prodigies like Xiao Jian and Xiao Yan, her efforts recruiting them would be wasted.

She gathered the male students and pointed to the still-unconscious offender.

"If anyone else tries something like this again, I'll personally show you what my Water Mandala whip feels like!"

Three days later.

Standing before the familiar little town, Xiao Jian's eyes softened.

Qingshan Town. The Magical Beast Mountains.

He was back.

Since Xiao Yan wasn't yet strong enough to venture deep inside, the two brothers parted ways....one staying in town, the other returning to the wilds.

When Xiao Jian arrived at his old valley, everything was as it had been...except for the lingering emptiness.

He pushed open the door. Dust had already settled on the floor.

"So, she's gone too," he murmured, thinking of the Little Fairy Doctor.

After a quiet sigh, Xiao Jian cleaned the room, gathered some herbs, then spread his purple wings and soared toward the depths of the Magical Beast Mountains once more.

He would be spending the coming days here...in seclusion, in battle, and in growth.

A mournful wolf's howl echoed through the depths of the Magical Beast Mountain Range.

With a calm yet grim face, Xiao Jian darted through the dense forest, his figure a blur between ancient trees.

It had been a full month since his return to the mountain range.

During that time, he had plundered countless herbs guarded by magical beasts. Wherever he went, the creatures suffered terribly.

Those he could overpower were slain, their corpses dissected....useful parts kept, the rest discarded. The meat of stronger beasts became Xiao Jian's rations, while the inferior ones were tossed aside without hesitation.

Now, most of the intelligent magical beasts near the mountain's edge had learned to fear the man in white.

At the faintest glimpse of him, the weak ones fled in terror, while the stronger beasts attacked out of sheer pride.

Unfortunately for Xiao Jian, this time he ran into a pack of Gale Wolves.

It all began when a scarred wolf gave him a single hostile glance.

That glance was enough....,the wolf howled and lunged forward.

Xiao Jian, slightly amused, had thought the beast had lost its mind.

A mere first-tier magical beast daring to attack a Dou Fighter?

But after effortlessly killing it with a single blow, he suddenly realized...this wasn't just any wolf.

He remembered it now. It was the same one he had encountered months ago, when escorting the Medicine Pavilion's herb-collecting team!

Before he could retreat, the entire pack.....over twenty Gale Wolves...had surrounded him.
