A light flame hovering in the void, weak but still cool to the touch, mysterious and clawing to life desperately
"What are you?"
"You tell me, kid?"
Blood surrounds Adrian's feet, illuminated by the flame's glow reflecting off every ripple in the blood. He stands naked in a trancelike state, not bothered by his surroundings or by his situation.
"I feel lost, hopeless, as if someone or something is crawling all over me?"
The flame turns into a face resembling Adrian's, but still he remains still and unbothered
"I think that's me, but I can't get a grip on you"
The flame utters with struggle in its voice before Adrian's eyes flicker and he truly sees the flame as a shadowy figure, within Adrian's heart, blue energy resembling flames begins spreading throughout his blood vessels across his body.
"Damn, you're stronger than I thought"
The figure sways in shock, ending with a smile as intense energy begins leaving Adrian's body, his left eye begins glowing, leading to blue flames manifesting around his left eye.
"But I can't deny that makes you an excellent vessel"
The figure says grinning before charging towards Adrian his arm outstretched his hand becoming a claw, as if out of instinct Adrian's body releases a shockwave of intense energy and sharp blue lines sharp as a blade. Each razor sharp line cuts through the figure like a blade of grass through water, then a shockwave blasts out from Adrian's body, wiping away the remains of the figure.
"You are truly something special, human, till we see each other again"
It gives a grin of satisfaction before finally disappearing before Adrian's eyes as an illuminated light enveloped him.
Adrian awakens his mouth dry and head dizzy as his hangover clouds his memories of the previous night, the dream lost to the mist of his mind as a corpse rises next to him. "Ahhhh, need, need?" Adrian turns to see a partly covered in vomit and beer Rollo, who's topless, trying to prevent getting vomit on it "You alive, brother?" Rollo coughs before looking to Adrian without moving his head "If not, please end me now" "Only if we go together" Adrian responds weakly sweating and struggling to make saliva to wetting his mouth "Not after Kera" Rollo uttered before looking up at the ceiling as the early morning sun rises comes across them, Adrian looks over to the wall and between his bed and Chester drawers stands the black bag from his father. "I hate myself dude, I really do" Rollo utters in a drunken slur Adrian ignoring it and continues looks at the black bag, after a moment his eyes become heavy he falls asleep as a voice utters "Maybe I should of kill you too"
Some hours later, Adrian wakes up feeling stronger and decides to climb out of bed only to discover Rollo is gone, upon leaving his room, he hears talking downstairs and a little laughter, which cheers up Adrian worried everyone was still going to be upset. Upon getting down stairs he sees his mother and Rollo talking, both looking visibly hungover, especially Rollo "Hey?" Adrian utters with a false drunken smile having recovered from his hangover the night before, the two look over at Adrian June looking with guilt and Rollo instead pulls out and gives him an understanding nod. "We're just talking about some fun memories of her man, nothing bad" Adrian walks over to them and places his hand on Rollo's shoulder and smirks at him then his mother before sitting, June turns and makes tea for him fresh from a pot putting three sugars in his cup as she pours in the hot tea water into it. "Don't worry, there's nothing wrong, just had a heavy night" Adrian assures them as memories of the previous night play through his mind, through a smile Adrian assure June and Rollo more than he can't stop thinking about Emily, Mindy, Samuel, Ieuan, their parents and The Boss. "Sorry I never made it back with the beer's" Adrian adds not even remembering where he left them "No problem, I don't think I could have drunk another drop" Rollo laughed as he wavered on his seat but caught himself and laid his head on the table "I wondered how long he last" Adrian joked but becomes concerned when he sees June begin to cry "Mum, you okay?" Adrian uttered as he rushed over to her grabbing her shoulders pulling her close, she leaned her head against his hand as she cried onto it. "Oh mum" Adrian uttered as he placed his head against hers as he sensing her pain and sorrow, memories of his mother with Kera spending time together fill Adrian's mind, causing him to tear up. "Oh mum"
Two weeks later Adrian stands before Kera's memorial at the school her image surrounded by letters and flowers, for the last week Adrian has come to it with one thought 'Should I avenge her' "Adrian, hi" Adrian looks to see Mindy holding flowers with a sympathetic smile "Oh Mindy, you here to pay a tribute" He asked her with a clear tear in his eye and a sadful smile that causes Mindy to grip the flowers tight "Yeah every day" He hears from near the school door seeing Samuel and Ieuan walking towards them both smiling like Mindy "We drop by the florist every day on the way to college" Ieuan uttered "She puts fresh flowers every morning on both her grave as well as here" Samuel told him as they reach them "We really appreciate it" He told them giving Mindy an appreciative smile causing her to smile happily "Aww, your sweet" She responds giggling and passing the flowers to him, Adrian accepts them and looks at Minda who's giggle and smile almost unnerved him thinking she's hitting on him. "Umm, thank you so much Mindy" Adrian uttered as he pulled the flowers close and looked over at the Twins still unnerved "Problem, brother?" Ieuan asked as he looked at Adrian with a casual smirk while handing his arm off his brother's shoulder "Umm, nothing?" Adrian lied but before he could turn and place the flowers down more flowers were thrust in his face "What the …?" "Take them!" An intimidating voice tells him then pushes them into his hand "Uh, thanks but who, oh shit" Adrian utters in shock as sees Emily staring daggers at him "I'm sorry again about…" "Shut up" She interrupted him before turning and leaving them but Mindy grabs her arm "Wait, please be more sympathetic" Emily stops for a second due to Mindy's words "He's like us Em, even if you and the boss think he isn't worth the trouble" Emily pulls her arm away and becomes angry looking at Mindy who still smiles at her, there emotions Emily's angry and Mindy's happiness battle between them that all three of the men can feel. "I don't know whether to be happy, pissed or horny, haha" Ieuan says to his brother jokenly as Samuel walked towards the girls and upon reaching them he took a deep breath while closing his eyes, he then grabbed Mindy and Emily's shoulders and the combating emotions disappears from around causing both to calm down. "Better?" He asked them as Mindy laid her head against his chest making him smile "Well she's better, how about you?" Emily looked at him as he asked her with a look of disappointment and calm "Thank you, all of you" Adrian speaks up causing them all to look to him and notice the flowers are now placed on each side of Kera's picture "No problem brother" Ieuan tells him while giving Adrian a soft punch to his arm "She love it, thank you all" Adrian thanks them making them all smile including Emily who squeezes out a smirk "Your impressive Adrian" Mindy told him looking as if she's high on a drug "Yeah without trying, you release an amount upon those around you, your a real prodigy brother" Samuel added smiling and giving him nod as Ieuan give Adrian a smile and thumbs up "You think" Adrian utters feeling unsure but the positive aura Samuel, Mindy and Ieuan are protecting keep him from losing his smile "I'll be honest, you have potential, alot Adrian" Emily utters her dermina because cold once again "But so are the others we buried" Her words cut Adrian destroying his smile along with the Twins and Mindy's "Your not special, your just like the rest, thinking they can save the world, when that's impossible" She told him before turning and leaving them "Bitch always ruins the mood, even when she tries to be nice" Ieuan utters with a scow one that his Twin shares "I'm surprised we survive an battle with her negativity" Samuel can help silently agree with his brother all the holding Mindy tighter "She's alot, but she's been through alot" Samuel utters while looking at a now concreted "I'm not the one who should talk about it mate, all I'm asking is give space and don't get offended by anything she said, she don't mean it really" His words calm Adrian and Mindy all the while Ieuan watches Emily leave the room still with an red aura. "Can I join you?" Adrian asked his words shocking the three of them "I need to take revenge for Kera, I don't want her killer to be out there, and think he can just get away with this" He looked at Kera's Memorial and clenched his fist as a tear drips down his face, the Hunters look to each other feeling his sadness and gave each other a reluctant look. "Do you understand, what your asking Adrian" Samuel says as he walks up to him then places his hand on his shoulder "Your asking to go to war, to fight an enemy you have no idea the magnitude you'd face" He told Adrian as Ieuan and Mindy join him Mindy taking Adrian's hand and Ieuan his other shoulder "brother, vengeance won't bring her back, nor will it bring you peace" Ieuan utters clenching his hand on Adrian's shoulder "We don't want to see another die, hunting monsters" Mindy tells him clenching his arm against her and cry onto his sleeve. "I can't just …?" "No one would blame you" Samuel tells him remorsefully feeling the pain Adrian's heart "Just taking your time, becoming a Hunter isn't just like joining the army, it's a lifestyle" "You join us and say goodbye to a life, marriage, kids, happiness, we fight and we die" Ieuan adds his heart breaking upon uttering this wanting to help Adrian but worried about the man's life more "That's who we are brother" Ieuan words shock him as images of a bloody pipe and Emily looking at him in surprise and then horror as fire consumes his memories
"Then, lad, what will you do, fight and die or run and live"
Adrian drops to knees and begins crying with a mix of fear and confusion "Please, tell me what I should do?" Mindy, who's still holding Adrian's arm, looks to the Twins with sadness and a wanting to help him, they look to her with the same look, but their desire to keep him safe overwhelms their desire to help him. "We're so sorry brother, but we can't allow you to join us" Adrian becomes enraged upon hearing Samuel's words dropping his arms to his side as rage and tears fill his face, Mindy and the twins feel his rage and pain knowing what Adrian will do next gently letting go of him. "Forgive us" She asked Adrian as he looks down feeling abandoned and hurt like no one understands his heart, he then turns and begins leaving, and for a second Mindy almost reaches out for him but both Ieuan and Samuel hold her to comforting her. "He's such a bastard?" Ieuan utters to them quietly "Yes, but he's also right" Samuel agrees as Mindy pulls them closer her eyes full of tears as her lips bubbled "I hate that he is" She cried as her knees gave out but the boys felt it holding her up, meanwhile Adrian leaves the college and walks away still angry and tears in his eyes. "He would be another corpse" The Boss tells Emily as they watch him leave "Just because he has a reason doesn't mean you would survive, I'm not burying another fool" His words causes Emily to clenched her fist as she responds "Yes sir, he wouldn't be worth training" She looked down before looking back at Adrian her fist staying clenched.
Adrian stands outside a high school as kids between 9 and 16 begin leaving meanwhile as he still feels angry about his conversation with the Hunters, he tries to calm himself down, but just the thought of them keeps him from thinking straight. "Umm I'm sorry, but I need to wait for my big brother to pick me up" Adrian looks up to see Kera's brother Kane with a strange man dressed in a jacket and jeans "Hey it be fine kid, I take you somewhere fun, you'll love it" He told Kane as he grabs the boy's arm only for Adrian to grab his and stare at the man with daggers "Don't touch my little brother" Adrian tightened his grip and pulled the man's arm away from Kane causing the man to give Adrian an impressed smirk "Wow, quite strong" He uttered with a almost mocking tone before grinning harder and suddenly starts pulling his arm against Adrian, the two for a minute struggle against each other and every time Adrian pushes back the man grins more and push harder against him. "Um, is there a problem here?" Adrian and the man look over to see a teacher one that Adrian recognised since he was Adrian's year 11 English teacher Mrs Smith "Sir, been a long time" Adrian uttered his strength holds against the man who gives a look of surprise for a brief moment, he then pull away breaking Adrian's hold and then looks at him impressed. "Nothing, sir, just checking him out" He utters giving Adrian a chilling smile that cuts through him as a grey black aura blasts out from him, the image resembles the Possessed he remembers killing Kera causing him to look at him with a mix of fear and rage. "You did it" As he uttered this Adrian pulls Kane into his arms and his blue aura manifests around them "Oh impressive, you really are" The man uttered upon seeing Adrian's aura leading to his aura intensifying their aura clash as their instinct to kill each other grows
"Do it, Adrian, kill him"
"Adrian, why are you blue?" Adrian breaks from his trance and looks down to see Kane in tears and a white aura around him, he looks up and sees people looking at him and Kane. Adrian says, "I'm sorry little bro," pulling him close before they see the man disappear. Mr. Smith places a hand on his shoulder and asks them, with concern, "You two okay?"" He asked "I'm fine, we should go home" Adrian utters trying to act fine looking down at Kane and holding him closer as Kane's aura disappears around him, Adrian takes a breath which causes his blue aura to disappear too. "You ready, little guy?"He asks with worry but covers it with a false smile as he releases Kane from his grasp. Kane looks up at Adrian and gives him a comforting smile, and Adrian finally feels calm as he takes Adrian's hand."
Meanwhile the Possessed hiding on the roof of a house across from the school giggling sadistically, he then stops suddenly up hearing someone landing onto the roof behind him dressed in a black hoodie. "Hehe, you were right, target his loved ones, and he will snap especially after you did his girlfriend in, hehe" "Shut up Fiend" He utter as he walked up to the Possessed and looked down at Adrian and Kane as they walk home together "He isn't the target" The hooded Possessed utters confusing the Possessed "Are you referring to those Hunters" He grinds his teeth upon mention the Hunters "He is not our prey tonight, instead the streets of this town will run red with the Hunters blood" The hooded Possessed says as he takes a knee still watching Adrian and Kane walk away "I have plans for you, Adrian?"
