Chapter 3 - School

"You apologized to her...Why I thought you..."

"Just leave it, Damian. No matter how I feel, I can't stay mad forever. She is still my sister," Langston sighed as he walked up towards the school.

"How can he say that so casually after everything?"

"I thought he was still mad you were dating Michael...does he not care?" Stella, her black haired friend, asked.

"I mean, I thought he was...but if he doesn't even care anymore, what's the point?" Kelly asked, leaning against the bathroom stall

"Maybe this is your chance to get closer to him since she isn't made," Carly said as he texted on her phone.

"That is true, you can't let this opportunity slip by," Stella added.

"...I know, but what can I say to him, after all this time?" Kelly asked herself, covering her blushing face

"Don't worry, girl, we will help you out," Shelly said with a wink, placing an arm around Kelly.

...

{Pov} Langston

"No dude, I ain't dropping shit, not after this many years. What's up with you and suddenly not being amde after me telling you to forget it and move on?" Damian said, grabbing Langston's collar.

"I...I just stopped, alright, what do you want me to say?" Langston replied, grabbing his wrist.

"Do...do you still love her?" Damian asked after looking around and whispering

"...Yeah...I mean, a part of me still does, but I just want to see her happy," Langston replied after a moment.

"Ha...damn it, man. This is not what I was expecting today," Damian sighed, letting go of his collar.

"I know, let's get going, too many eyes," Langston added, looking around as people stared and whispered at them.

Walking to class, they both sat in the back next to each other.

"So what about Michael, you're not mad at him?" Damian asked

"No, I still hate that guy with every passion in my heart," Langston replied as he clenched his fist.

"Good cause, look who's here," Damian said, looking over at the door.

Walking in was a tall boy with a muscular build, short brown hair, and matching eyes, and an arrogant grin on his face. With two other guys following behind him.

"There he is, my favorite brother-in-law. Tell me where my girl is," Michael said, placing an arm around Langston.

(This kid may have suppressed his anger, but that's not me)

To the surprise of everyone, Langston threw a punch right at Michels' throat, causing him to lose his breath and step back with wide eyes. Quickly standing up, Langston threw a kick at his knee, knocking him to one knee. Grabbing his hair, he threw his knee into his face before kicking him in the solar plexus, knocking him to the ground.

Lifting his bleeding face by the hair, Langston spoke.

"You ever go near my sister again, and I will kill you," Langston spat before dropping his head and kicking him on the stomach once more.

"...Got something to say?" Langston asked, looking over at Michael's friend, who was too surprised to move

"What the fuck, Langston?" Damian asked, confused by the sudden outburst.

"Sorry, couldn't take that asshole speaking about my sister anymore. That goes for the rest of you. Anyone who bothers or speaks badly about my sister will have their faces caved in just like him," Langston spoke, his smile never leaving his face.

With whatever one in stunned silence, the door opened and the teacher walked in, his face confused by the scene before him.

"What in the world? What happened here?" the teacher asked.

"We don't know when he just walked in and fell into the corner of the desk," Langston spoke.

"Feel it looks like his face was caved in. You two take him to the nurse's office. Langston, you follow me," the teacher spoke.

Following behind the teacher, Langston was led to the principal's office. Walking inside, Langston explained how Michael had stepped in and slipped on the floor, falling into the corner of a desk.

"You expect us to believe falling into a desk could make someone bleed that much," the teacher yelled.

"It was a very slippery floor," Langston replied, with fake concern on his face.

"...Okay, so this is what's going to happen. Langston, you are suspended for a week. You'd better hope he won't want to file charges. Mr.Enderson, can you have someone collect his items and bring them here? I will be contacting his mother," the principal, an older man with greying black hair and a thin build, spoke with a sigh.

"Right away, sir," Mr.Enderson spoke before leaving the office.

Dialing a number on his desk phone, the principal waited for Langston's mother to answer.

[Host, did you do that on purpose?]

(Yes. Without having to worry about going to school, I can prepare for what's to come) Langston replied

A few moments later, after a brief phone call with Langston's mom, the principal hung up the phone as Damian walked in carrying Langston's bag.

"What the hell, man? Why did you do that?" Damian asked in a whisper

"Don't worry, you will understand soon enough. For now, just look after my sister, okay," Langston replied

"You don't gotta ask, but seriously, you better give me a good reason for this," Damian sighed as he left the office.

After another twenty minutes of the principal lecturing Langston, his mother walked into the office in her business suit.

"Langston...what happened? I heard you were in a fight. Are you okay?" his mother asked, concerned as she examined his body.

"Actually, Miss Hughes, your son started the fight and was the one who beat up the kid," the principal interjected

"What...Langston, why?"

After spending some time explaining what had happened, Langston's mother, who stayed calm the whole time, took Langston to the car. As he began to drive home, his mother spoke.

"Why did you do that? You know your sister is dating Michael, right?"

"Because the piece of shti does not deserve her. I see how he looks and lust after him, but he does not care. I couldn't stand it anymore," Langston replied

"...But that does not give you a reason to beat someone up," his mother sighed.

"I don't care you two are my family, I would do it to anyone who dares to touch you two," Langston said with a determined look.

"....fu, you are just like your father. Overprotective and passionate. I don't condone what you did. But I'm glad you are looking over your sister again," his mom said, rubbing his cheek with a smile
