Lyra pressed her hands against his wound, crying. "No! Stay with me! Please, don't leave me again!"
Kael lifted a trembling hand and touched her cheek. His lips curved into a weak smile.
"Don't cry… You already gave me the lesson I needed. To love… and to let go."
Lyra shook her head, tears falling like rain. "I was wrong… I was selfish. Please, forgive me. Please, don't leave me this time."
Kael's eyes softened. "I already forgave you… the day I let myself die."
His gaze lifted to the moon above them, glowing bright as if it was the only witness. His hand slowly fell from her face. His chest stopped rising.
Under the pale moonlight, Kael's story ended. His body rested in Lyra's arms, his love eternal even in death.
Lyra cried into the night, her voice breaking against the silence. She had lost him once in life, and now she lost him forever.
And so, Moonlits Hearts closed with the boy who once led with strength, who loved with all he had, and who left the world under the same moon that had always guided him.
