A being who created the world, along with all life within it, was the Great God. He was the one who oversaw fate and the flow of time, as well as the teacher of the Celestial King and the Lord of Hell.
Within this life, humans constantly brought destruction. They killed, tortured, enslaved, and ravaged nature to expand their dominion, strengthening themselves by forming groups.
The Lord of Hell, disgusted by these vile acts, grew weary and requested permission from the Great God to punish mankind. The Great God granted permission, but with conditions: he was forbidden to annihilate the entire human race, and he himself, being both a god and the Lord of Hell, was not allowed to deliver punishment. Instead, he had to create beings who would execute judgment upon humans.
The Lord of Hell accepted the condition, and thus the Demon Clan was born. To lead them, he created the first Demon King, the strongest of demons, imbued with a portion of the Lord of Hell's own power.
Upon learning this, the Celestial King feared that innocent humans would also suffer. He pleaded with the Great God to stop it, but his request was denied. The Great God explained that the timeline had already been written: the Demon Clan was fated to wage war against mankind.
The Great God said to the Celestial King:
"Fate is a decree that cannot be altered, only delayed. Sooner or later, fate will come to pass. Those who try to deny or change it will only bring punishment upon themselves from the order of the world."
Unsatisfied with this answer, the Celestial King created celestial beings known as Angels, a thousand in number. They were commanded to battle the Demon Clan as protectors of humankind.
The battle between the Demon Clan and the Angels raged for three days. At first, the Angels gained the upper hand. But when the Demon King himself entered the fray, the tide turned, and the Demon Clan won easily. It was no surprise-for the Demon King carried a portion of the Lord of Hell's power, unlike the Angels who received no strength from the Celestial King.
Seeing his Angels defeated, the Celestial King was consumed by fury. Blinded by his rage, he forgot the Great God's warning not to disturb the timeline. With his divine weapon, the Sword of the Star Order, he attempted to sever the timeline at the point when the Demon Clan was created and erase them from existence.
But his effort failed. The sword shattered, unleashing a devastating explosion. The blast hurled him away, leaving his body gravely wounded and one of his wings broken.
Witnessing this, the Great God decreed that the Celestial King would suffer the punishment of the world and be cast out from the realm of gods. The Celestial King wept, begging for a chance to return and reclaim his position.
The Great God agreed, but on one condition: the Celestial King would reincarnate as a human. In his mortal life, he would have to lead an army of men and find the destined Swordmaster to defeat the Demon King.
The Great God further explained:
"Beforehand, the timeline had already decreed that there would be a human-a Swordmaster-destined to defeat the Demon King. But because of your interference, mankind's certain victory has become uncertain. Now, their chance of success is only forty percent. You must help bring this fate to fruition."
Realizing the difficulty of this task, the Celestial King pleaded for authority to aid him in leading the armies and finding the destined Swordmaster. The Great God granted this request. In his reincarnation, the Celestial King would be born as the ruler of a human kingdom.
Yet the Great God imposed a grave condition: should the Celestial King fail in his mortal life-whether slain, dying of age, or should the Swordmaster perish before fulfilling his destiny-both he and the Swordmaster would reincarnate again, repeating the cycle. But the Swordmaster could only reincarnate seven times. If failure persisted after that, the Celestial King would never return to the divine realm and would die as a mere human.
The Celestial King could do nothing but accept his fate.
And so begins the tale of the destined Swordmaster-
The Predestined Swordsman.
