Chapter 7 - Angry Sniff

Over the next week, Duncan's life suddenly became leisurely.

Every day, besides going into the Enclosure to trigger quests and accumulate virtual currency, he would accompany Tina on walks, listening to her recount interesting stories from the past.

Among these, Duncan was most interested in the not-for-kids, blush-inducing anecdotes about Dumbledore and Grindelwald.

Unfortunately, Tina would always change the subject, refusing to dwell on that topic with Duncan, which left him a bit disappointed.

Newt wasn't idle either; he spent a lot of time writing letters to friends around the world, inquiring about relevant clues.

Regrettably, only a few had replied so far, and their letters were filled with casual chatter, containing no useful information.

As the sun set, Tina prepared dinner in the kitchen, waving her wand to direct the chopping knife and make dishes fly.

Duncan, meanwhile, reclined on the soft sofa in the living room, amusing himself by teasing a small Niffler he held.

"Pro, are you ready?" Duncan asked, holding a shiny silver sickle between two fingers, wiggling it up and down.

Pro's round eyes were fixed intently on Duncan's fingers, his tiny head slowly following the movement, an expression of eager impatience on his face.

"Over there!" Duncan raised his hand high, swung it vigorously, but just as he was about to throw the silver sickle, he bent his fingers and pulled it back in time.

But Pro didn't notice; he became a black blur, in the blink of an eye dropping from Duncan's palm to the sofa, then sliding down the edge on his back like a slide to the floor, using all his limbs to rush towards where Duncan had just swung his hand.

However, once he arrived, he spun around several times without finding the beloved silver sickle he had been longing for.

Pro immediately grew anxious, his head moving close to the ground, sniffing around with his nose, and occasionally poking his sharp claws into the cracks of the floor, scratching, trying to find the inexplicably vanished silver sickle.

Duncan watched Pro's adorable yet comical antics, his lips curling into a grin, revealing his white teeth, and he couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Pro heard the commotion, and his claws, vigorously waving in the cracks, suddenly froze; he realized Duncan had played a trick on him.

Pro feigned nonchalance, retracting his claws and waving them casually in the air, then leaned back and sat on the ground, scanning his surroundings as if trying to pretend nothing had happened, that he was just playing there and hadn't been fooled by Duncan.

However, after sitting for a moment, the more he thought about it, the more aggrieved he felt, and his black eyes couldn't help but glare fiercely at Duncan.

"Pro, you should fight back, otherwise that hateful Duncan will definitely trick you again in the future! You should teach him a lesson!" Pro silently encouraged himself, imagining himself beating up Duncan, then suddenly stood up and, shouting loudly, charged towards Duncan, "You hateful Duncan, go to hell!"

The sharp cry reached Duncan's ears; he paused, then seeing the furious little creature charging at him, he quickly said with a smile, "Pro, don't get excited, the silver sickle is right here!"

The golden sunlight shone on the surface of the silver sickle in Duncan's hand, reflecting into Pro's eyes. His moving limbs immediately slowed considerably, and even his breathing became rapid, with only that glittering object remaining in his sight.

However, in the next second, Pro raised a front paw and lightly scratched his own face to clear his head, then angrily ran towards Duncan: "You won't appease me with that again! I've decided, today we must have a fierce duel!"

"Oh, really?" Duncan looked at the feisty Pro, raising an eyebrow, and unhurriedly rummaged in his pocket, pulling out a round Galleon, flicking it gently, and tossing it into the air. "What did you just say?"

Pro's eyes immediately widened to their fullest, his attitude instantly changing, and he ran towards Duncan, fawningly saying, "Duncan, you misheard, I didn't say anything just now."

"Is that so?" Duncan smiled, watching the Niffler eagerly climbing up his pant leg, and said teasingly, "I seemed to hear a Niffler just now wanting to have a big fight with me. Was that you, Pro?"

"How could that be, Duncan!" Pro struggled upwards, "We're the best of friends, how could I do such a thing? You have to believe me!"

"Oh? Is that right?" Duncan shook his head with a sigh, putting the Galleon back in his pocket, "That's a shame, I thought you had become brave, and I wanted to give you this Galleon as a reward, but since it's not you, then never mind..."

Pro's eyelids blinked slowly, as if he hadn't reacted, frozen on Duncan's pant leg as if under a Petrificus Totalus.

After more than ten seconds, Pro slowly came to his senses and angrily shouted, "Duncan, let's duel! One of us must die today!"

Pro quickly climbed onto Duncan's leg, furiously waving his claws, scratching at his clothes, leaving white marks on them.

At this moment, Newt had just emerged from the Enclosure, and as he passed through the living room, he happened to see Pro's valiant attack, and couldn't help but ask, "Are you bullying Pro again?"

Hearing this, Pro seemed to find a savior, quickly turning his head to look at Newt with pleading eyes, shouting, wanting Newt to teach Duncan a lesson.

"No, I'm playing with Pro," Duncan said with a smile, knowing Newt didn't understand Pro's language anyway.

"That's good, you have to get along well with them to become their true companions," Newt instructed, walking towards the kitchen.

Pro watched Newt leave, then sighed dejectedly, burying his head and staring at the floor, as if he had lost faith in life.

"Are you angry?" Duncan bent down and asked Pro.

Pro didn't respond, sitting on Duncan's lap and turning away, avoiding Duncan's gaze.

"Alright, I was too harsh, I apologize," Duncan placed the prepared coins in front of Pro, "Will you forgive me?"

Pro's tiny claws instinctively reached out, but just as they touched, they quickly pulled back.

As if saying: "You think you can bribe me with this little money? Never!"

"Don't be like that," Duncan added another silver sickle in front of Pro, "One more?"

Pro glanced sideways, as if afraid Duncan would go back on his word, and quickly swiped forward with his claws, painstakingly stuffing all three coins into the pocket on his belly.

"This time it's fine, but if there's a next time, hmph!" Pro warned.

"Understood, understood!" Duncan said with a smile, and text appeared before his eyes.
